So, How Does This Work?
Kietta races are a form of art competition. To compete, you must enter a particular piece of art for the event. That doesn't just mean pictures though. Your entry can also be in the form of a short story, poem, song, or anything else you can imagine! The only catch is that is must be created by YOU. No commissions or thievery will be allowed here c;
Please fill out the forum below and PM it to me! I will accept posted entries but I have no way to promise that it wont be lost in the clutter.

Kietta: Maku
Art Piece:
I finish strapping up the saddle for Maku. I quickly gave a brush of my fingers across the number 114. My heart was beating fast, but I was hoping Maku couldn't sense it.
Beneath the noise of my heartbeat, was the sound of nervous kiettas. Their barks certainly seemed to rile Maku. It's too bad it isn't snowing, then Maku would have the advantage. I told myself.
But my biggest concern: Quita. I had heard about this kietta, amazingly fast, too fast for any of them. Maku wouldn't win, and I hated to admit that to myself.
Grabbing his bridle, I slowly attached his matching leash, taking deep breaths to prepare myself. I prayed that he wouldn't start slow, that was always his one big issue. He tried so hard, but couldn't. I didn't blame him, I loved him anyway, but wished he could improve.
I led him into his starting gate, watching his demeanor instantly change from calm to energized. He pawed and barked at the other cages. Giving him a quick kiss on the head, I took off his leash and closed the gate.
With my fingers crossed, I moved to sit down at the front of the stadium. I slouched uncomfortably in my chair, my eyes trained on Maku's starting gate and my fingers crossed still.
They began to announce the race names of the racers, my heart beating faster as they called out "Racing Through the Snow". It was his name for a reason.
Then, my heart did a countdown of beats, before the gunshot was heard loud and clear. I saw all of the other kiettas leap ahead instantly. Maku then burst through, scrambling for speed. But the one kietta at the front, Quita I was sure, her yellow fur flashing, was no match.
I knew he would lose. I didn't want to encourage myself to feel worse. So I closed my eyes and waited for it to be over, the image of burgundy on black fur as Maku pushed for head of the pack, while Quita was in the lead.
