The merchant stepped aside as a girl ran to the boy's side. He recognised her. Della, she lived here, in Arbour harbor. "You know him?"
"Yes, we've met. She's my friend." Mumbled Ferondir. "I'm stupid, Della, and I'm very much not fine." He touched his head and winced. "Nothing to worry about though, I've got it under control."
Stupid, stupid.
"I thought I was so clever with my magic flying... but look where it got me. I could have been killed."
He opened his eyes and saw, for a second, Zeph, standing over him, but the next moment, he was gone. Must be his mind, playing tricks on him.
He looked at Della.
"I'm just glad I'm alive." Are you?
He painfully leaned himself up on the tree. His mind was a little clearer now. All these people were worried about him... wait... only some. Most were here to gawk at him.

Della Collern/13/ColorBlind/Where: Arbor Harbor/With: Ferondir

Della also noticed Zeph, or at least she heard him. She looked around, confused slightly. Then she shook her head, clearing her thoughts. Probably just her imagination. She focused back on Ferondir.
"Come on, I think we should find Guzore. He probably might know what to do." She looked worried. "Can you walk at all? I can't carry you." She told him. She could look for Guzore herself and bring him back, but she didn't want to leave Ferondir alone. He was capable of taking care of himdelf and Arbor Harbor was not a dangerous place, but Ferondir was wounded and in pain.

He could see that she was worried. "Yeah," said Ferondir. "I should be able too walk. Where's my staff?"
He looked around at the merchant. "Thanks, I owe you."
"That won't be necessary." This stunt would get him plenty of business.
"Thanks again. Oh, there it is!" It was lying about six or seven feet away. "Della, do you mind handing that too me?"
He could still taste the potion. It must have done wonders.
"Okay, everyone. He's fine. Scat!" shouted the Merchant.
He clearly wasn't fine, but the crowd slowly began to disperse anyway.

Della looked over at the staff, then nodded. She retrieved it, handing it to Ferondir. "You wanna lean on me?" She offered. Like the crowd, she didn't believe it when the merchant said Ferondir was alright. "I hope Guzore isn't far..."

"You're very kind," said Ferondir. He took the staff. "Thank you. I don't think I'll need to lean on you right now, but stay close. I'm not sure how much damage I took." He forced himself onto his feet, putting much of his weight onto the staff. "You know, this is why I like to use a staff and not a wand."
That's the thing with magic. If you do something to big, you get weak.
"A staff is not only more powerful magically, it can steady a person too." He laughed, then stopped, as it made his ribs twinge.
"How'd you find me?"

Della silently listened to his talk about magic. She didn't really care much about it, she was more of a potions girl than a magic girl, but it was cool that her friends were so interested in magic. After hearing the question, she paused for a second, carefully choosing her words. "Well, when we got here, everyone split up. I went to talk to my parents, and after our discussion I went to go look for you guys. I was originally planning on trying to find Guzore first, because you know he's big and easy to find, but I saw the crowd gathering around something. Figuring one of you doofuses had got into trouble again, I investigated. And lo and behold, I found you." She shrugged, smiling.

She clearly didn't care about magic, but she listened. She was being nice to him. What had he done to get to be her friend?
"Well, uh... this dufus certainly did get into trouble," Ferondir said, as they walked. "I'll help you find Guzore, if you'd like."
After all, the goron was very hard to miss. Something struck him. "Della? I thought I saw Zeph, earlier... but I'm not sure. Did you see him too."
Maybe Zeph had done something ridiculous again.

WooHoo! Zeph yelled- full of adrenaline.
He was start to finding the fun in this- Maybe running around through slowed time wasn't as bad as he thought?
He definitely got a different perspective on things.
Now, he could notice the minute details- the little things that people did, that most people wouldn't think twice about/
He saw an old woman talking to a portrait of an old man. he saw a young homeless girl taking bread from the bakers shop when the baker wasn't looking. He saw a little kid crying on a street corner. He saw a cat sneaking into a house. He saw a woman splitting a piece of bread for her kids to eat.
The things you could see behind all the glam of Arbor Harbor were really quite saddening- Zeph would never of suspected that in a place like this the citizens could be so oblivious.
But he saw other things too- He saw a family sitting around a picnic table, laughing. He saw two little kids kicking a ball back and forth. He saw the same baker catch the girl, and give her a whole loaf of bread.
This was what intrigued Zeph so much about seeing things in a still frame, he could see everything.
...A Few Minutes Later...
Zeph ran into an empty alleyway, where leaves that were blown into the air stood motionless- suspended in time.
Zeph firmly planted his feet into the ground, leaning backwards to steady himself.
He was willing all the magic he could into stopping the Speed Force.
Suddenly, there was a loud crackling noise, like thunder- and the lightning around him faded into a shade of light blue, and dissipated. Everything gradually began to move again, and within seconds time was restored to normal.
Woo! I did it! I did it! Zeph said, feeling a mix of excited and proud.
He looked towards the exit of the alleyway. People were bustling by like normal, and he could now hear the chatter of conversations that were irrelevant to him.
Oh, that's cool- Zeph noticed a fading trail of electric blue light, apparently his Zooming (His super speed.) Leaves a temporary trail behind him.
Within seconds, the trail had completely faded away.
I can finally stop at will! Zeph looked down, checking to make sure he was all right.
Arms- check.
Legs- check.
Body- check ;).
Bag- check.
Cloak- check.
Wind swept hair- check.
Ice Staff- check.
Stele- che- Wait..
Suddenly Zeph remembered
Zeph pulled the stele out. He began to flick it through the air.
AAA! NO NO NO! He screamed as the Stele slipped through his fingers, flying behind him.

Oh gods... Zeph sighed.
He focused his mind on resuming the Speed Force.
Focus...
Focus...
Focus...
Focus...
Nothing.
Come on! Zeph muttered.
Focus...
Focus...
BZZZT
The world seemed to vibrate for a moment, as he initiated the Speed Force- But within seconds the world froze, and small bolts of electricity had already begun protruding from him.
Well, apparently Zeph can stand still and still have time be slowed. He looked down at his hand, and it appeared to be vibrating- as if it was out of phase with reality.
Apparently his whole body did that when he was Zooming.
Here we go. Zeph said, excited.
He took off, running out of the alley- Happily zooming through crowds of frozen people.
...
Zeph had ran through about 12 alleys before he found his Stele.
aaaand Stop! Zeph said, firmly planting his feet into the ground.
Once again there was a noise like thunder, and then everything was back to normal.
He looked at the people outside the alley, it appears that he had only been running for a few seconds.
It felt like 10 minutes to him.
Nice!! Zeph spoke in a higher tone than usual. This was all very new and exciting to him.
He bent down, and picked up the Stele. It was a little scuffed, but still in one piece. Thats rather good.
He wiped the mud off of the stele, and put it back in his bag.

"Zeph?" she repeated, then shook her head. "No, I didn't see him..." she trailed off. "But I though I heard him. If you saw him, I probably didn't because my back was facing where you were looking because I was looking at you, remember?" she told him. "But it was really weird. Isn't he like, your best friend or something? If he was there, why didn't he help?"

Ferondir shrugged. "Yeah," he paused. "Yeah... he's my best friend."
"He would have helped, unless he couldn't. I only saw him for an instant, so it is possible that he's in some kind of magic pocket of time or something. I mean, he messes with dangerous magic all the time."
I'm one to talk.
"What did you hear exactly?"
