You look in the bush and a squirrel runs out and climbs up a tree. You are about to continue walking when you notice footprints in the dirt. What do you do?

I follow the foot prints as this could be a new discovery.

You follow the footprints realizing that they lead to a lake. The footprints stop at a patch of bushes not to far away. Do you go up and search the bush possibly scaring away a wolf, or do you wait for something to happen and possibly waste time allowing the wolf to escape unseen out the back of the bush?
