Rainen are a species co-owned by myself and my friend moon (who is not currently a member of cs)
Any questions regarding the future of the species can be asked on here or pmed to me.
Thanks!

Rainens are canine relatives that reside in caves. They live next to large bodies of water in groupings of unlimited numbers called pods. The caves that these omnivores live in usually start off underwater but eventually extend upwards or downwards into the soil creating air pockets. Rainens can hold air in their lungs for up to three hours on a single breath. Their lungs also filter out harmful gases that often form in their caves, allowing them to breath. Rainen age similar to a human, but their pup days last roughly two years and their adolescent days last about four years. These creatures can produce up to five litters of pups per individual. A litter usually contains one, but has a chance of containing two or even three pups. Rainen eat mostly fish but they will occasionally munch on plants from the waters floor. May add more later.

The lines can be as chibi, cute, fierce or as realistic as you'd like! There will be three growth stages of the Rainen. Pup, adolescent and adult. Despite there being three stages, there will be four lines. Pups and adolescents are the same no matter their gender, but female and male adult Rainens are slightly different. They have the same body build and features, it's just that males have a few extra accessories/parts. So,
-any style of lines
-the red bubble background can be used as you please
-you do not have to do the red bubble background
-I only need adult lines for now
-females and males are exactly the same in body type so you do not have to create two completely separate lines for them
-if you place first, expect to be creating pup and adolescent lines in the near future [you may ask for help from myself or the other two placers]
-you can add anything you'd like to the species! more tails, different pupils, different horns, change their fins up, etc.

Rainen have a very lean build in order for them to hunt fish efficiently. They appear mostly canine, except for a few features. Their pupils are slitted, similar to a cat. Males have horns on their heads that are similar to that of a oryx and females have small, stub-like horns. Their tails are usually similar to a lynx's tail, but uncommonly they can have an wolf-like tail and even more rarely, a akita inu-like tail. They have large ears like a fennec fox and they have canine noses. Rainen have fins on their ribcage, their heel's and on their back that they can retract when on land. They have very short, water proof fur and thick skin that keeps them warm underwater.
Rainen are only slightly different as they age.
pups
-males and females are exactly the same
-they do not have any fins
-their fur is thick, making them unable to swim properly
-their eyes are sealed shut
adolescents
-males and females are exactly the same
-they have short, incomplete fins
-their fur has shed and is now the proper swim length
-their eyes are open
-stubs of horns begin to develop
females
-fins have fully developed
males
-fins have fully developed
-horns have developed

This contest will end August 31st (first day of school ew). I hold the right to extend this contest up to six months.
