Valyx Adopts // searching for mods and artists

Postby Mufa » Wed Aug 26, 2015 7:14 pm

Breeding Thread // Artist Search

Image

Valyx are a cross between various species of dragon, wolf, and shark. They display the body anatomy of a snake-like dragon, the tail of a shark, and the fur and legs of a wolf. Valyx have two pairs of eyes, of which both are completely blind. When they are born, a small aurora is formed with them. At first, it appears as small ball of glowing smoke. But when the Valyx has grown, the smoke becomes a single eye. Because of their link with the aurora, they are now able to see through it. The eye always remains by their side, and if it is somehow lost, that Valyx will never see again. Much like a shark, a Valyx moves it's tail side to side for movement in the water. Their thin, waxy fur coats and lithe bodies allow for streamline maneuvers. They have gills, thus meaning they breath underwater, so they can only hold their breath above water for roughly five minutes. A Valyx can live in the wild for up to fifty years.

Image

These creatures mainly live in warm waters near populated reefs. They can be found hiding in caves underneath all the bright coloured plant life. They use this a hiding place, being as predators and pesky humans are too busy looking at the colours to notice them in the dark.

Image

They feast on small fish and green plant life. Occasionally, a Valyx will be seen eating the bright plant life of the reef they live in. This is odd, though, because the plants can often make them sickly and weak.

Image

A Valyx is born roughly six inches long. Through their adolescence, they are around three feet long, and adulthood can bring them anywhere from five to eight feet long. They never grow much taller than three feet.

Image

They often don't get along with dolphins, whales or larger fish, and they are preyed on by their close relatives, the sharks. Valyx don't usually have problems with their predators, though, because of their closeness to shallow waters.

Image

Valyx do not mate for life, but they can often be seen reproducing with the same mate multiple times. Strangely, they can only breed ten times in their lifetime, and it seems certain Valyx are infertile. A Valyx can have up to four pups in a litter, even though a single offspring is the most common.

Image

Valyx with no line edits are considered common. Ones with small add ons or line changes such as a puff of hair or fuzzier lines are considered uncommon. Valyx with larger add ons or line changes such as a full-on wig/hairstyle or a whole new tail are considered rare. And finally, a Valyx with multiple add ons or line changes is considered very rare.
