WELCOME to the virtual world of A Dog's Life. Here, you can own a dog with a special ADL (A Dog's Life) currency called coins. The dogs are like real ones, and need to be taken care of. Please note that all events that occur at ADL are as realistic in a more impatient way as staff can accomplish. So, these dogs do not grow, and the processes of the creature with most likely be qickened. Please enjoy your stay at ADL. c:

I have neatly organized everything for your ease. Please excuse the length, and expect more rules to be added.

| Basic Rules |
: You are expected to not steal the idea of ADL. I refuse to let anyone copy the idea or make another 'A ____ Life'. I want this thread to stay original.
: No art theft. This means no copying or editing any of ADL's linearts or the like without my express permission.
: No spamming. Posts that only hold one word (other than 'bump') will be considered as spam. Any complaints or bragging is also spam; refrain from doing it.
: No mini-modding. My dearest staff is trained and clearly capable or pointing things out. Don't dare to talk back to them, either (while that is more common sense than anything. :\).
: No cheating! This is a highly interactive thread and if you've found a way to cheat at contests or the thread in general, DON'T DO IT.
: Nope, we don't do customs, so don't bother asking for them.
: No climing that you made any of this idea up, that you made the linearts, or made a certain design on the dogs. That is clearly a lie as this is the only ______ Life on CS (and it should stay that way, please) and you didn't made huskies have their colors, or labs be yellow or brown. =_=;

| Pet Rules |
: You can own as many ets as you'd like, but keep in mind that your are in charge of the costs of food, water, medicine, and toys for your dog. The more dogs you have, the more costly ADL will become for you. You must be able to pay for everything, too. No debt here.
: You cannot neglect your pets or the will be taken away from you and given to someone else.
: Don't become an animl hoarder! Leave some dogs for other CS users, too, please.
: No whinning or complaining about what happens to your dog. If it gets sick, it gets sick. If you don't have enough money to pay for it, well then there. You're not ready for that dog.
: In order to own a ADL dog, you need to have at least a food and water bowl, and a dog bed. A brush and a few toys are suggested as well, but they are not needed.
: You can only adopt two dogs per week. No more than that.

| Breeding Rules |
: If you breed your dog, you can only keep two of the pups. You must sell the remaining pups after you've chosen what two (or less) you want to keep for coins. NO OVER-PRICING.
: You can only breed your dog twice maximum.
: Yes, you can breed two different breeds, but they will most likely be the same breed as the mother.
: You must have permission with your partner to breed wih their dog.
: No same gender breeding. Only male x female.
: If you don't want any of the pets, you won't get coins for them because they will be sent to the Humane Society, so don't ask for any coins out of it.
: The dog must be one year or older to breed.
: There must be slots open in order to breed.

Q: "What really is ADL?"
A: ADL is a plce where you can own a virtual dog that needs food and water, exersize, vet attentions, and just plain TLC.

Q: "Why don't they grow?"
A: Because growing stresses the whole staff out and it is a big hassle and time consumer.

Q: "Why don't you do customs?"
A: Lack of intrest and other opinional reasons.

Q: "How does ADL work?"
A: Get a dog, take care of a dog. It's that simple. ;3

Q: "Why haven't I recieved my dog.item/coins/etc yet?"
A: Have you checked your PM box? That's where you collect them at. If they're not there....staff is procrastinating, busy, sick, having technical difficulties, you didn't follow the rules, or you're blacklisted.

Q: "Are you accepting staff at the moment?"
A: Not at the moment, no.

Q: "What's the point buying grooming supplies, toys, or entering contests?"
A: They give your pet a boost (a +) that is placed beside your pet in the 'Players post'. You my need a certain amount of boosts to enter in contests. The more boosts you need, the more coins you can recieve if you win. And if you can't afford coins, contests are a fun way to earn them.

Q: "What's a Starter Pack have in it?"
A: A brush, a dog bed, and food and water dish, and one toy. But notice, you don't recieve boosts by buying a Starter pack. You can only purchase one Starter pack for your lifetime, too.

Q: "What's a 'boost'?"
A: Y'know dogs that win dogs shows? They win for a couple reasons, but one main reason is that they follow the specific breed's standards. In order to do the same during our contests that are stritly for the dogs, I made boosts that virtually make the dog closer to the breed's definition. They also decide if breding between two dogs will work, and get you more coins if you win a contest. Also, when purchasing an item that gives boosts, the boosts go to each of your dogs.

Q: "Why do we have to wait so long to breed our dogs if they are young? Why don't you quicken up the aging process?"
A: They'd die quicker if I sped up the aging process, all I'd be doing was breeding your dogs, your dogs aren't 'even more puppy-makers' anyways, they are your friend. F-r-i-e-n-d. Not your 'even more puppy-maker'.

There are different sicknesses as well as needs for every breed. You must pay close attention to the breeds you own because in case they get sick, you miht be able to fire out what the disease is by this detailed list instead of going to the doctors! o:

There are no short-haired dogs at ADL yet. But keep checking back!

| Long-Haired Dogs |

| Husky |
The husky is very entergetic and hard-headed. They need tons of attention and get hot easily. With their double coat, grooming is a must, though they just need a regular brushing. There is no need to send this dog to the groomers. They tend to be a little sensitive, so you need positive reinforcement, meaning kind words, no yelling. They require daily exersize and drink a lot of water. Fifteen minutes of training each day is great for a husky. Huskies can live up to fiteen years and are a very healthy breed. The main sickness cases in this breed are seizures and eye issues. Hip dysplasia is actually quite rare in this breed despite the love of running. They come in light browns, grays, whites, and blacks. A great dog, but probably not for first-time dog owners.

| Kooikerhondje |
[I searched and searched for the fur type of this breed but couldn't find the type....I know tons on the Kooikers, and the fur can get pretty long so I figured I would put it here. If you know this breed belongs in the short-haired section, please tell me right away!]
Kooikerhondjes (also called the Kooikers or Small Dutch Waterfowl dogs) are a medium sized dog with a medium length, wavy coat. There are normally only two other colors (brown or orang-ish/chesnut) other than white in this dog. Their tails are mostly white, but some can have an all brown tail. These dogs surprisingly have low grooming requirements that only need regulur brushing. These dogs are very, very sensitive and need positive reinforcement. They need a good amount of toys, because just like every dog they have chewing stages. Exersize is needed because they are big enough that a run around the house won't do much good. A walk or a trip to the park is a good idea. There are many sicknesses that this dog can recieve, and all, sadly, are very major cases: Von Willebrandt Disease (like hemophilia in humans), cataracts, patella luxation, epilepsy, and Hereditary Necrotizing Myelopathy (similar to multiple sclerosis in humans). These dogs are great, but due to the major diseases that these dogs can recieve (normally the sicknesses are just bred into the dogs), they aren't a good idea for first time dog owners.

WELCOME to the Pet Shop. You can get your first dog here for free! But all the other dogs that you purchase here will be sold with coins. Females will always cost about fifty coins more than males. Different breeds of dogs has different prices, too. These dogs will always be at a lower coats than breeders want for their dogs, but we cannot ensure healthy dogs for life. These guys are born from unknown areas so they do not live as long as other dogs. They are still loving though, and need a happy home. :3

WELCOME to the Breeders. Here, you can find a list of reliable breeders who are selling their canines for coins. While these breeders do demand quite a bit of coins, these pups are inspected to insure quality dogs that hardly ever get sick. They do not offer starter packs because they expect you to be a god enough parent to purchase these things on your own so you know what your dog likes. Once you've found the right breeder for you, you can fill out a form requesting a dog.

Drake Meadows has been a very popular breeder with a huge variation or canines on her hands all at an affordable price. She's been a breeder for some time now, and every dog she sells has very few health problems in their lives, if any. She only breeds her dogs once, and then they become a family pet. She will only give you the dog if you're deserving, though (ie, filling out the form properly, not many warnings).

| Glowbee Hives |
Glowbee Hives is a very responsible breeder, and has become very popular because most of her dogs here has rare designs that are hard to find in nature. Glowbee's dogs are all very healthy and don'tget sick very often, and if they do it is a simple, minor case- easily cured. She has helpers, though, that Drake for example, who can accept your form is Glowbee is not at her location.

WELCOME to the Human Society. Here you can adopt a dog for free! We normally only have mutts because you do not find pedigrees on the streets a lot. If we do have a pedigree, though, we still don't charge you. Keep your coins; we know love shouldn't cost anything. These dogs were found wandering or donated by those who could not care for them any longer. Get your pet taken away? It'll end up here. We cannot ensure long lives for these guys, in fact their life spans will probably be shortened by fifty percent. They also tend to get sick a lot, but they are more minor things. But all these dogs need is some TLC. c:

We're all about keeping your dog safe and healthy so we always try our best. The meds sold here don't give any boosts to your dogs, but they do make them stronger. And overtime, who knows? Your fine friend may just earn a boost. :3

Dying for puppies? Want your dog to have a lover? Here's the place to be. You can select a partner and I will decide if the breeding works by adding up the dogs' boosts. The more boosts the amount equals, the better chance the dogs will breed. Keep in mind, each one of you (you and your partner) can only keep two pups each. Each litter has about five to eight pups (all normally very similar), too. You'll have to sell the ones you and your partner don't keep to others at ADL for a reasonable amount of coins. You think you're ready to breed? Well make sure you've read the breeding rules on the first post first!
