He rested in a patch of shade, thinking. Maybe today was the day that he would join the clan. Of course to him it was stupid. He looked dangerous enough with his blood stained claws and tooth collar. He knew that they wouldn't accept a cat who couldn't even talk. His pelt blended in with the shadows, the only part not blending in were the speckles of silver.

"I did." Pricklenose meowed and smiled. "Mind if I grab something to eat before we do anything? There's no point on training with an empty belly."

"Except lizards and snakes." Waspclaw pointed out. "I know they like it in this horrid weather.

Sunpaw's eyes narrowed with curiousity. "Yes, we do. But how do you know his name?" His tail flicked as he spoke, almost rhythmically.

I cock my head slightly. "Well, it's not exactly that I had something to talk about, it's that I had someone to talk with. You see I don't get much time to socialize with other cats." I admire the she-cat. She's definately pretty enough to make Flarepaw jealous. I sense a twing of guilt in my mind, quietly considering weather I should use the she-cat like this. I purr slightly, it'll all be worth while when I'm beside Flarepaw again.

Crowpaw nodded as her stomach growled. "And then we can catch more prey for the Clan!" she purred excitedly. She did enjoy hunting, it was just hard because of her fur. Maybe she could talk to Flarepaw later and ask her how she did it.

"Indeed, little one." Pricklenose purred. The tom proceeded to pad over to the fresh-kill pile where he chose a small mouselike creature for himself. After waiting a moment for his apprentoce to choose her prey Pricklenose sat down in one of the hard to find patches of shade. His thick, long fur didn't help in this heat.

He still respected others,and his friends.

up,getting into his fighting position.

"Not yet!" Swallowpaw meowed, her green eyes gleaming. "I don't think our clanmates would appreciate us fighting in the middle of camp."

"I see then. Well, you maybe want to go do something. I'm awfully bored as well if I do say so myself." Rosefeather replied glancing at Browntail still remaining calm.

Softberry already seemed more relaxed than when Batpaw first came up to her and she purred, scratching behind her ear. "You're quite correct, Batpaw - you're a wise cat, for your age." She licked down her fluffy pelt and gazed up when she heard the apprentice's mentor's pawsteps padding up. "Hawkcry, don't be too rough on yourself - I know you can handle yourself, but it's my duty to worry about you." The good-natured molly got to her paws and rested her muzzle on Batpaw's head, murmuring him good luck, and then headed to the entrance of camp. Holding back their assessment would only take longer and the day would only get hotter. She whisked her tail against's Hawkcry's flank, respectfully, and then gazed over her shoulder once about to leave.

"Oh, and you're right about that - I'm moon-gazing and star-speaking." Softberry purred and slipped out of the camp to find more marigold, as a lot of the supply was used. She trusted Snow to be able to wash himself in the oasis and handle himself in the Clan. There was no need to babysit such an abled tom.
