I don't know if Yama changed the rules but you can get one by breeding two of the (three?) currently alive.

I think there are a total of 6 right now, Yama has two(Nemesis and Ashmedai), I have one(Trystan, the son of Karma and Illusion), VampireMessageNinja has one(Lagoda), and Dizzy socks has two(Karma and Illusion)

At the moment we have those 6 Nikki mentioned but Nemesis and Ashmedai are related to each other and Trystan is related to Karma and Illusion. So there aren't many combinations left for breedings.

I remember Yama saying she wants to keep them rare, and doesn't want the species flooded with them. Making only a few pairs to keep the lines small and the colour rare.

Didn't you want to keep them rare though? I do remember when you made the announcement that they can't be acquired as customs and only through Day X traditions.
