Sunpaw snorted,"As to you, my friend." He walked towards the falls, and soon he could see the rushing water and could hear the calls and noises of other creatures.

Dustspeck looked down at the she-cat "New warriors?" he mused, his tail flicking slightly. His stomach grumbled slightly but he did nothing, just made himself more comfortable. He kept the space between the two so as to not make the female to uncomfortable, but he was determined to get her to talk.

The new warrior pricked her ears at the sound of Dustspeck's stomach and struggled to stifle a small snort as she watched the tom from the corner of her eyes. 'He's not the worst tom I've ever met,' she thought to herself before standing up to stretch out her paws. Owlflight padded away from the older warrior and made her way towards the fresh-kill pile. The sun just barely peeked out from over the horizon meaning that the dusk patrol would be sent out shortly. I'll have to eat quickly if Scorchstar sends me out on patrol. Grabbing a small hare, the amber-eyed she-cat slunk back over to Dustspeck and nudged the critter towards his paws, still using as few words as possible.

Noeyes got to her feet too and went to lap at the cool, gently rippling waters to soothe her aching throat as well. The Russian blue hadn't realized what time of day it must be.. nor how quiet everything was. There was a breeze and a bit of a chill - so Noeyes knew it must be after sundown. She heard some cats still ambling about in the camp, but most of them were meowing goodnights and heading off to their tunnel-dens. Great StarClan.. this day seemed to fly by! The blind she-cat thought as she plunged her muzzle into the lake. She heard her friend cough slightly, and meowed, a little concerned as he was older than her and getting sick could mean the worst for him, "Foxfoot? By Silverpelt, I hope you're not under the weather."

Foxfoot shuddered as he choked down another cough before rasping, "I'm sure I've just been in the sun for a tad too long." He leaned forward towards the surface of the water to drink for a while longer, quenching his thirst, but not the strange tickle in the back of his throat. With a nervous shake of his head, he lied to his friend, "I'm feeling better than ever." The elder touched his tail to Noeyes' shoulder all the while mewing a suggestion, "Perhaps it's time we escaped this heat and moved back to our den?" By now, the sinking sun cast a pleasant hue of light over DesertClan's camp and caused the lake to appear a lovely shade of orange.

her blind eyes scanned the room. her hips ached. /and her moss was dirty. she would get the apprentices to do it. She remembered being a apprentice. always the last one taking care of the elders. getting snapped at all the time. she wished she was a apprentice again. she was old and close to death. she put her head down and slept.

Flarepaw had taken over her food to eat beside the Oasis lake when Spottedpaw, a long-legged, golden-and-brown-spotted female, bounded up to her. They were decent acquaintances, but they never really talked. The large-eared female closed her jaws with a snap, as she was about to eat before her Clanmate had spoken to her. "Hey. My day has been.. pretty boring. No stunts today.." Flarepaw snorted then, thinking of the Batpaw blind, "Oh yes, and, Batpaw got me in major trouble with my dad today... I have to do the elders' bidding for a full day tomorrow."

Spottedpaw tilted her head, curiosity overtaking her. No stunts, but elder bidding tomorrow? Eh, sounds like you got busted big time! "Major bummer," the long legged molly stated, sitting next to her fellow apprentice, a thoughtful look crossing her face. Hm... I'm bored out of my mind... maybe Flarepaw could take me to have some fun. I mean, when I'm good all the time, all I get is boring duties. Maybe I can have one fun time... "Hey, if I help you with elder duty tomorrow, can we go to a stunt when your off punishment?" Spottedpaw asked eagerly, focusing his hazel gaze upon Flarepaw. The molly knew it was strange for her to ask, but she'd always wondered what it'd be like- boredom had driven her to it. Besides, it's just one time!

Softberry finished applying the herbs and sat back to lick her paws clean, following Batpaw's gaze to the ex kitty pet. "Oh! That's Pearly, he was left behind by twolegs and burnt horribly by the sun. He's been offered a spot in the Clan." Though even in her mind she doubted the kittypet's joining - especially with that thin white fur. It was as bad as her thick, long dark tabby coat. "I'd prefer if you stayed in the medicine cat's den for a few days but if you wish to return to the apprentice den then just be careful, okay?"

Batpaw lifted his head, his namesake ears shoving forward. "Twolegs? Coming all the way here to drop a kittypet?" the ebony tom mewed, obvious curiosity in his voice. Licking his maw, the apprentice barely held back the stinging words on his tongue. Really Scorchstar? A kittypet that was burnt by the sun... invited to our clan? I have thick black fur and I don't even get burnt by the sun. But keeping that to himself, the petite tom shifted upon the moss bed. "Alright. Thank you, Softberry," he mewed with a respectful dip of the head, before lowering his head once more. I'm not staying here in this medicine cat den for a few days because of Flarepaw's mousebrained decision. I'll leave, just not now- I haven't got a wink of sleep all day. A good rest should do me some good. Drifting off into a light sleep, Batpaw left his filmy eyes open- a habit of his. After all, it didn't really matter if they were open or shut.

Snow heard the soft snort around the hare. Giving the much larger tom a sideways glance, his baby blue eyes locked on the warrior again. You are bleeding. I am bleeding. It is nighttime. I'm sure an apprentice could figure out why my urgency is justified. As if on cues, the howls started. The pearl tom, instead of increasing his pace like a cat with common sense, stopped, and glanced over his shoulder. It seemed he was in a trance. Until Hailpaw spoke. The same atrocious language as her mentor, regarding him as scat, although she was the one that had fled with his mere words. Turning his head slowly, the older tom's baby blue eyes locked on Hailpaw. Don't be so sure I'll be exiled, young molly. The pearl tom knew it was irrational to think otherwise. But, for once, he had to trust blind faith. After all, this was the only clan around for miles, and he was getting old.

He had to believe in those words uttered more than forty moons ago. After all, what was life without a little bit of hope? Changing gears, he let the words from Hailpaw sink in. Oh, so you need a good lesson like Hawkcry, hmm? Shouldn't be nearly as hard- after all, you fled from my mere words. Apparently your quite confused- believe he can protect you, still? Ahh, I cannot have peace, can I? If you remain silent, I do. But silence seems to make you fester and exert, destroying you slowly and completely. You are too impatient to even keep your maw closed. Ahhhhh... this clan has much to learn. The same small smile playing at his lips, the pearl tom trotted back up to them, stopping directly alongside Hailpaw, not even looking at them. He was making way through the brambles delicately. It is one thing to be completely oblivious and insult one when you no nothing. It is another thing to insult something you cannot defeat. Didn't you learn from earlier? Apparently not. But once I establish myself within this clan, you two will see your absurd flaws, and it will be I that relishes while you wallow.

I will join this clan. Even against these circumstances. Or die trying. There is nothing for me outside of these rocks that mark this home. My body has much life within it, but if the spirit dies, what is the point? A family is the only thing I desire, the only thing I have yet to experience. Oh yes, this is it. And I. Will. Not. Fail. Seeing 'handsome' sneer at him after the molly insulted him so openly, Snow simply smiled back in that sweet way, his baby blue eyes meeting the darker blue eyes of the massive tom in front of him. Challenge accepted, handsome. Instead of retorting, the older tom padded after Hawkcry, breathing steadily and doing his best to avoid slicing open his coral pawpads. I wonder how long it is before the leader hears us bumbling through the vine, sounding like badgers in a thornbush.

Softberry nodded when she saw Batpaw drifting off into sleep and backed away from the youthful tom, letting him get his sleep. A gentle purr emitting in the back of her throat, the thick-furred molly padded out of her den and flinched at the bright sun, her pupils shrinking to slits as she adjusted to the harsh sunlight. Her green gaze flicked around but didn't see anyone who needed her immediate attention, so instead she padded into a shaded part of the camp and sat down.

The dusty brown warrior broke into a warm laugh as he purred in delight. "I would never! I truly think you too are compatible," he rumbled softly. He leaned down slightly to take another nibble of the half-eaten mouse at Sandystrike's paws before rising up again to eye the she-cat. "Hey, according to Noeyes, Scorchstar used to be a very different cat. Perhaps you'll be able to bring him back," Finchstep mused aloud.

She sighed and smiled a bit. "I don't know. After a loss like that, I'm sure it's hard to go back to how he used to be." The spotted she-cat's ears flicked as she thought over it. "I do know that he used to be happy and not as stern as he is now, but he put up walls. It would probably be hard to get through them to how he is inside."

Coyoteclaw smiled at Rattlestorm as she flicked her tail "Come on let's go" she purred resting her tail on his shoulder. "What do you feel like today?" she asked.

Rattlestorm purred excitedly as she said the words 'Let's go'. He was rarely allowed to leave camp without Sandystrike or multiple cats, but he was sure it was okay. Coyoteclaw was a responsible cat in his eyes if not in everyone's, and she was kind to him. At her next question, he tilted his head. The tom simply didn't quite get the question.

After telling his story, Pearly hadn't spoken to the other cats again. He had finally licked up the poppy seeds and rested his head on his paws, mumbling things to himself such as "I miss my mama", or "I hope Sea and Jasper are fine".
Only when new cats were around did he move, shrinking down in his nest slightly before drowsiness came over him and he relaxed, falling asleep instead. His ears and whiskers twitched as he heard the other cats speaking, even one asking who he was, but eventually all sound faded out to a dream.
