Racing Name:The Angel of Red Roses
Call Name:Rose
Gender:Female
Pronouns:She/Her
Personality:Rose is a sweet, caring Kietta, whom can often be seen trying to cheer up random strangers. She's devoted to her mate, and is very loyal in general, refusing to leave her friends alone if they're hurt. Though many don't know, she's actually an artist, using the petals of flowers as her paint, and the walls of her stable as her canvas. Rose is particularly fond of colors on the red spectrum, as they represent love, and blood, which many are bound by. However, she can be a bit clumsy (as in, when she's running around corners she often runs into walls), and is easy to impress. Rose will believe a lot of things she's told, unless these things revolve around betrayed trust or love. She frowns on break ups and cheating, nor does she want it to exist. Rose is also quite the racer, so she travels often, though she rarely doesn't take her mate with her. Though she is blind, she often says she can see things to try and hide the fact. Her mate, Evangeline, understands Braille, which is how she and Rose wrote to one another. It is unknown how Rose can tell where she's going, though she claims to be able to sense where by the wind movement and texture of the ground, as well as by scent and hearing.

Love Note:"Dearest, dearest Evangeline, I wish I could be beside you, but alas, I can only write to you. I wish to look into your beautiful, shimmering, eyes, and let you know that I will return soon, though I would never be able to see them. Believe me, this place is busy, the entrants range from shy to rowdy, but none of them would stand a chance against you in speed nor elegance. My dearest. I miss hearing your beautiful voice that sings me to sleep at night, and I promise, when I return, I shall have a lullaby written for you to make up for my absence. If I am to win the competition, I shall have it arranged for you to meet me at the location of the next race, and if I'm to lose, I will be back in your arms again. Either way, we'll be side by side again. If any are to comment on your speed, do not hear their words; you are the fastest Kietta of all, even faster than me. I blush as I write this, thinking of how happy you'll be to see I've wrote to you, and thinking of how wondrous it would feel to be pressed against you side again. Now, my sweet Evangeline, I must end my proclamation of love and hope, as I have a race to win tomorrow. A race to win for you, my Evangeline. Good night, my love."
~ Rose, June 1st, 2015
Rose's Lullaby"Rest my sweet, strong angel,
May the moon guide your dreams,
Know though I am not there now,
I'll soon be home to strum your heart's strings,
Close your eyes,
Rest your head,
Keep your hopes up strong,
The space between,
Will not last much long,
The dark may not be bright as light,
But we share it in spite,
To make sure that our bonds stay strong,
As the moon at night.."
Evangeline's Reply"Oh, Rose, I assure you that you don't have to arrange for me to come to the next race. I am on my way, only pausing to tell you. It was meant to be a surprise, but I just couldn't help myself! Keeping you waiting is the last thing I want to, and I want to give you more strength to win. I heard you're going up against some fast opponents, but I promise, I'll be waiting for you at the finish line. Also, if you intended to make me blush, you greatly succeeded. I could hardly contain myself, and I'm sure I'll have the same reaction when I see you racing down the track. I dream to hear your beautiful heart again, to be near your kind soul, and to converse with your poetic voice. By the time this note reaches you, I assure you, I'll be close, perhaps even in the same town. Goodnight, my beautiful, darling Rose. I'll see you tomorrow. I promise.
~ Evangeline, June 2nd
Evangeline's MemoryA rather young and beautiful Kietta ran through a starlit forest, her eyes aimed ahead of her, and her mind filled with thoughts. She had sent her most recent letter by a bird she and her mate, Rose, had befriended. Then she saw something that seemed familiar; a stone building, though it was in ruins. Roses tangled around its pillars and walls, giving it a strange beauty. "This place...." The Kietta murmured, her heart beat quickening. "This is where I met Rose..." Her eyes widened as memories flooded back. It'd been so long ago, back when they were just a few years older than Kietkiets, but she remembered the encounter in full detail.
***
"Hello?" A voice broke past the tired Kietta's daze. "Helloooooooo?" It repeated, sounding a bit confused and curious. Evangeline opened her eyes her vision a blur from her fall. "E-Eh....? W-Who..?" She asked the blurry red figure above her in a daze. "Uh, who are you?" The red blur asked, starting to take shape as Evangeline recovered her ability to see clearly. "E-Evangeline." She stuttered a reply as she tried to get up from her place in the ground. Eventually, she could see that the red creature above her was another Kietta. The Kietta quickly moved, and then proceeded to help her to her feet. "Well, you took quite the tumble, Evangeline!" She exclaimed, a bit worried. It was then that Evangeline started to recollect how she ended up unconscious on the ground. A tree. She had ran into a tree. How embarrassing! "T-Thanks for helping me up." She smiled to the red Kietta weakly. "Welcome!" She answered. "My name's Rose, by the way." Her smile shined brightly, making Evangeline feel a bit happier. "Pleasure to meet you, Rose."
***
Evangeline smiled to herself as the memories flooded back. "Rose's old home.." She mumbled. Back when they'd met, it had looked almost exactly the same, the only difference being the size of the rose bushes surrounding the area. Evangeline shook herself, trying to get back on track. Off into the night she ran once more, memories entangling themselves through her determined mind. What Rose saw in her, she didn't know, but relentless, Rose loved her, and Evangeline loved her back, which is the way it will always be. A love that will last for eternity.
Promise FulfilledUpon receiving a reply from Evangeline the next morning, Rose set to work on practicing for the race that would take place later in the day. She wanted to make sure that she was the first to cross that line, the first Evangeline would see coming towards her down the track. Though when she reached the track, a tiger-like Kietta was already there, running like it was the only thing she knew how to do. Rose attempted to say hello, but the Kietta gave her sideways glare, which Rose sensed, so she assumed they'd be competing against each other later. Awkwardly, Rose backed up before turning around to head back home. "Maybe I'll get a chance to practice later." She mumbled to herself quietly.
***
Rose didn't get to practice. The race was about to begin, and practice was the last thing on her mind. She only wanted to reach the end, to reach Evangeline, the one she loved, and the one who loved her back. The shot sounded, and the competitors took off. Rose soared to lead almost instantly, the tiger-like one she had seen earlier coming up behind her. The rest were no where to be found, lost in the dust. What was that Kietta's name? Rose searched her mind. It had something to do with a tiger... And a watch... Oh!
Watch This Tiger Roar! Or Tigeress, that was her real name! That had to be it! She thought to herself, triumphant that she'd remembered. However, her moment of triumph was cut short when she ran into a wall, as she was lost in thought and had been unable to slow down. Tigeress dashed ahead of her, a triumphant glimmer in her eyes. As quick as she could, Rose got up and ran, intent on getting ahead of Tigeress. Passing the others who had gotten ahead of her during her fall, she found herself neck and neck with her only real competition. Then, she sensed something new. Evangeline, standing at the finish line like she promised, staring at her with those soft purple eyes. Rose's sightless eyes widened and she kicked into full gear, racing ahead at full speed. Tigeress looked in disbelief as the red Kietta shot through the finish line before her, ruining her winning streak. Rose immediately ran to her beloved mate, who ran towards her at the same time. When they met, they nuzzled each other affectionately and rested their heads against one another, happy to finally be together again. "Oh, Rose... I missed you so much." Evangeline mumbled to her mate. "I missed you too, Evangeline." Rose let out a peaceful sigh. "I missed you too."
Of Art and SongIt's best not to question how Rose paints, or how she knows what the color red, or any color, looks like. She just knows. Now that she was back at home with her dearest Evangeline, she could focus on art once again, while Evangeline happily sang to her. Evangeline had wanted to sing to her beloved ever since she left, and now that she could, she couldn't be happier. "Evangeline," Rose suddenly asked, interrupting her mate's singing. "What does it look like?" She asked, actually questioning what she was painting for once. Evangeline walked over, looking at the masterpiece upon the wall Rose had drawn. Two large splatters of red and purple were the most noticeable features, though there were a few white and yellow dots above them, and some green splatters below them. Evangeline smiled slowly as she began to see what the picture was. Even though it was abstract, it still had a deeper meaning that she understood. "It looks like us on our first date." She answered her mate's question softly. Rose looked a bit surprised to hear this. "It does?" She smiled slightly in disbelief, which was enough to tell Evangeline that Rose planned to do this, though wasn't sure she could. Evangeline nodded near Rose's ear so she knew that she had done so. Rose smiled contentedly, at her achievement. Being a blind artist wasn't exactly easy; you were criticized, yes, but you were also pitied. Rose despised being pitted, because she knew she could do well, relentless of her disability. The red Kietta was shook from her thoughts by Evangeline's humming. Quietly, she waited, knowing from experience that her mate was soon going to sing. Evangeline took a quiet, large breath of air, and broke into a soft song. After she finished, Evangeline looked over to find Rose fast asleep. She smiled softly and laid down beside her sleeping mate before quietly whispering three words: "Goodnight, my angel."
Evangeline's Song"My sweet angel Rose, please heed what I say,
Love shall entwine,
Our hearts together forever as one,
By the light of the bright sun,
I don't need sunrise, just you by my side,
Here in the darkness it's now that we'll rest,
To dream of the day, we're unbeatable,
To finally prove that we have true love,
My sweet Rose, please fear not,
My sweet Rose, our love's tied taut,
My sweet Rose, rest your head,
My sweet Rose, go to bed.."
I REALLY, REALLY LIKE THIS ONE ;-;
Sorry for the wall of text, my bipolar disorder and anxiety makes me horrible at love note type things so I had to add a ton of extras so it didn't look pathetic ;-;
