I realize how long it's been since this happened, but I didn't see it until now P:
I feel like I still have some valid advice to give you though.

They say no one can be a great artist on the internet until someone steals their work. WHich seems to be kind of true, if you make something awesome/cool then it will be stolen at some point. People want what they done/can't have, and will stoop to being dishonest to get it.
It totally suck, I know the feeling, and it's beyond frustrating.
But when you take your stuff down because one person does that, you're only hurting yourself. It's your effort that's now gone to waste, not theirs.
They have it, they've used it, it's already done. If you don't have a way to report them, then they'll keep doing it. If you can report them, then it'll get taken down. Well, actually maybe not since you took all the information off your thread. You might not be able to prove that you made them first now.
Either way, you already did all the work with all the CS pets on them and such, and it does feel like a waste that you pulled them all down. But a lot of people do things like that when they are upset, and it's understandable. No one can look down on you for that. It can be heartbreaking when you do a labor of love, and someone just comes in a swoops down to steal it without a second thought.
What I'm trying to say here is, if when you cool down you realize you want to put them back up, don't be afraid to. People here I'm sure understand your hurt and anger, and they won't look down on your for changing your mind either. I'm actually sure it would make most of them happy, but that's not why you should do it. You should do it for you, if that time comes. You don't have to hide because some other entitled jerkwad stole your art, you are allowed to still enjoy it and let others enjoy it if you so choose.
Just think on it, think long and hard about it and about the things you want.
If you feel it's time to let them go, especially if part of the problem is you are no long satisfied with them, then everyone here will understand. So far everyone seems understanding. But if the only reason you took them down, and I mean the absolute only reason, was for someone else (the thief) then maybe you'll consider otherwise.

I will preface this with : I have strong feelings on this subject. And to thank you for the conversation because it was very generous of you. It is nice to know that some reactions/interactions are understandable when so often an artist gets treated like a workhorse instead. Thank you.

That being said, I have a different mentality when it comes to art theft. It’s not a compliment at all. It’s disrespect. It doesn't just suck to have things stolen- it's like being spit on. To me this is how it feels. This is not the first time I have had things stolen, nor will it likely be the last. In the same vein I do not have to put up with it either and shouldn’t have to. Too often there is no consequence to someone’s action when it is involving art theft, just having it taken down is a drop in the bucket, not really a punishment in of itself. A slap on the wrist. In this case I had the ability to enact a response.
Because things were free for CS, everything was real loose. I only asked that my name stay on the sleepers. ( Really that’s it, the other rules are CS rules: don’t claim the designs as your own). I outlined the consequences. While over the years there were a few misunderstandings- they were solved quietly and things continued on.

Now I will absolutely argue about that it being a waste of MY effort, me taking down the art. Because by me taking it down, it started this conversation. Which is an important conversation to have and doesn’t happen often enough. The action has also brought attention to art theft in general. That it’s not cool, and people do get caught.

Now to address something and some other people on this thread as well- this was done –offsite-, on a site that you had to be apart of a paid community to interact with. What I have/haven’t done in light of the theft is my business and mine only since it didn’t happen on CS. I will not start a ‘witch hunt’ by dropping a username anywhere or anytime soon. What happened, has happened.
As to ' who created it first!' , if that conversation ever comes up, I have a DA acct that's 11 years old that has the original spawn of all the sleepers on it. I won't have a problem in that front. Let alone the HUGE PILES OF FILES that is all the sleepers and customs that, yes! I still have! ( my poor harddrive! ;_; )

The sleepers have cost me a lot of time over the years. And my time is becoming more and more precious. Between being a mom, school and work- I am finding less time to do art, and far less time than that to do uncompensated art. Out of the time to do free art- I’ve decided to do more of my own personal projects. Free things are nice, but it was getting demanding as well. I’d rather be known for my original creations than my recolors of an old gif.

I will not stop creating art. I continue to experiment and get better, I just have zero drive to document the progress on Chicken Smoothie, especially seeing how it’s not CS related in the slightest. I have two other art gallery sites that I put my art up regularly at and have been doing so for years if anyone is inclined to want to see. One of the sites I have been at way longer than Chicken Smoothie has been around even. The farther back you go, the more horrifying it gets. Honest truth. omg. XD

I appreciate all the community and the kindness that people have shown me at Chicken Smoothie. There are so many other artists with free adpotables as well here, that could use the same amount of encouragement and care that you have shown me.

Vixen, they were completely taken down. They aren't allowed to be used anymore by anyone.
