Your two protagonists can't be the same type in PMD because if they allowed you to do so, you'd be steamrolled by a type disadvantage. Unless you're playing the WiiWare games...

Also, a lot of criticizers of GTI act as if the earlier games were ~perfect~, when in reality they had a LOT of problems.
  • IQ skills. Having to manually teach the AI not to spam status moves (Status Checker) isn't rewarding, it's bad game design.
  • In Rescue Team, if an AI Pokémon knows a healing move, it will use it over and over again even when its HP is full.
  • The AI in general.
  • Some of the sprites looked really weird from the front.
  • Rescue Team's plot had terrible pacing. When Team ACT go to Magma Cavern, you have an in-game week of nothing of substance happening.
  • RT's aftergame. "You've saved the world, now do some tedious legendary encounters with incredibly lengthly gaps between them!"
  • Escorts getting lost too easily.
  • In RT, your inventory size of 20 never increases.
  • Some of the abilities were incredibly broken, such as Unburden (Drifloon used Ominous Wind! Drifloon is at double speed! Unburden boosts its speed! Drifloon used Ominous Wind! Drifloon is at triple speed!) and Rough Skin (free Counter/Mirror Coat).

I think I did, but I don't remember how XD
(In Black/White 2

Yes, I have Gen VI games, but this post suggests that there were contests in Gen V

Also, I'm trying to think up a fan fiction, I can't think of which ship to use, Ash/Iris or Ash/Serena, or a polygamy fan fiction with both ships

That was a mistake, the part in the brackets was not supposed to be there.

A nice tip while were on the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon subject. I wanted to share this little method that I''ve never got the chance to share. You may have heard it before though.

All you need is a pure seed.
Find a Kelceon shop, take all the items you want, leave without paying.
Now when he engages battle with you use your pure seed, teleport to the
stairs and Kelceon will be gone. c:

Yep, I've been working out ways to steal from Kecleon, too. ^^ There was even a count in the "Other" section of the main menu for how many times you've succeeded in Explorers of Darkness/Time. It doesn't seem to be in Sky, though, unless I missed something or just need to do it some more times.

What makes it even more rewarding is if you sell your own items first before leaving. Fill up the mat and then talk to Kecleon. He'll pay you for everything you put down and give you the option to buy his stuff. Agree to selling your items, say no to buying anything, and then pick up the items you've just sold and repeat until you've sold everything/as many items as you want from your bag. Then grab everything and teleport to the stairs. You'll get all the items that were originally on the mat, keep everything you already had, and walk away with a ton of extra money.

If the stair room is in the same room or just a short distance away from Kecleon's shop, you can even manage with a vanish seed or invisify orb. As long as you're still on the mat when you use it, Kecleon won't notice that you've left with the items until the invisibility wears off, so you can buy some extra time to get away. Then use any useful seeds and orbs you have in your bag to keep the Kecleons away until you can get to the stairs. I'd imagine using an escape orb on the mat could work as well if you don't have anything else and can afford to leave the dungeon early.

Hey, can anybody give me a suggestion/advice on how I should start this Fanfiction? The idea is a conjoined family between Iris, Serena, and Ash. The running gag is that Serena and Iris are jealous of each other, but stop fighting the moment Ash enter the room

i had no idea you could sell things to him.
i'm currently replaying pmd gti, with a stronger team, since owshawott and snivy
got exterminated from them being the weakest ones to be but my favourite one. i
couldn't beat the game as them. I'm retrying to as pikachu and my partner as the almighty
op axew. although i hate axew's... does this work in pmd gti? if so I'm defiantly pulling this off. cx
plus pikachu can handle kelceons with an attack that damages every pokemon in the floor ;u;

Sky is great. Definitely an improvement on Darkness and Time. c:

You know, another observation I just made about PMD, and I guess this is pretty obvious but I wasn't really thinking about it before, is that it's the only Pokemon game series I've seen that has a non-silent protagonist. Most of your dialogue is your thoughts (which in and of itself is unusual to see,) but there are also a few moments like when you're leaving Temporal Tower that you're seen actually talking to your partner out loud. And then throughout the game you actively move around and engage in the story and the other characters, which is an interesting change that I think goes along well with a very story-driven game. In other Pokemon games the main character spends every cutscene just standing around silently and following and obeying the other characters, who are the only ones actually doing anything to move the story along.

I think I prefer a non-silent protagonist, but sometimes I'm also not very happy about things the protagonist says (when the protagonist seems to think to slow for example). As far as I remember I liked the way the protagonist thinks in Sky.
Thinking about silent protagonists reminds me of Harvey's New Eyes, a game that makes fun of that concept (and other things).
