I don't think so... Maybe you can get a custom item with the regular currency and ask for it to be a squid? I'm not sure if the owner will do it though.

Ruby-Skylark: I'm sorry you missed the event, but there's no way to buy the items if you did not get starfish. Also, from what Tigerfur said, you may not buy a custom item and get one of the event items. They were only available though the actual event, and custom items are meant to be custom.
