Hey guys, I'm looking for people to help me judge competitions!

I posted a journal at the pallio DA group, so I'll just quote it here:

Anyways, the job of a pallio judge is simple: Read the completed forms, and tell me who you believe should get the pallio and why.

And that's it. When a competition is over, I'll be PMing you with links to the forms to be judged, and you reply with the above. Seeing as how I don't space out my deadlines and don't churn out pallios often and , this isn't something you'll be doing often. I'll be consulting the opinion of at least 2 judges per competition, but in some cases I may be consulting more. To prevent bribes and stuff, I won't be telling the competitors who the judges are.

Now, as for what you get in return for judging. I can't exactly just give out a custom and stuff, so I'm offering the next best thing: The ability to alter your pallio's design. Things you can do include:

- Changing the colors of a marking
- Changing cape stuff (switching type/colors/adding sparkles)
- Switching body types
- Removing one marking
- Adding one marking

(your pallio must still look recognizable though!)

Lore wise, since Avris is a weird and magical place, changing yourself isn't too hard. And for some pallios, it's probably even necessary (wanted criminals, runaways, etc.) Some things can't be changed however, such as the ear spot, dramatic changes (completely new markings, complete color swap, etc.), and removing sparkles. Ear spots are what make pallios pallios, dramatic changes are basically customs, and lore wise it's impossible to get rid of sparkles.

To prevent people from abusing the alters, I'm making it so you can only get one alter for each competition you judge. Meaning after you judge, you get one alter which you can only use on one pallio. After you alter it, that alter is now gone and you must judge again to alter again.

Could someone possibly be able to judge forms even though they don't own a Pallio? Or do it for free?

Yup! No pallio needed, just an interest in the community. And yes, you can do it for free, the whole alters thing is to make judging more enticing for those who are on the fence about it. PM me if you really do want to be a judge, and I'll add you to the list.

Actually considering changing the alters system to a general points system though. I was thinking about having events, but I want something people can work for and obtain from participating in them. Rewarding points they can redeem for things seems like a common way to go. If people get nothing from participating in events, then they probably wouldn't be motivated enough to join (though I know some peeps would do them anyway, just because ) Just something for myself to consider. If you guys like this idea, let me know!

Oh yeah, and since I'm here, might as well announce the website about Avris (formerly called "the pallio world"). It's still very much a WIP, but it's got information on the other species that exist in the world, and also on monsters and other stuff.

I want Avris to be user oriented in terms of worldbuilding, so I want people to be able to submit their own lore and creations for it. You can see a user submitted thing in the Ecosystem page if you go to the bottom, for example. I'll make official submission forms someday, but for now you can just PM me about Avris ideas and if I think it fits into the world, I'll add it to the site. Currently looking for plant stuff right now, can be anywhere from a fruit to an herb. I'll need a summary also, such as taste/where it grows/how it's used/etc And if you want to, you can try your hand at drawing one of the monsters too. I'd love to see some art for the galleries.
