Watery beams of sunlight hit the windows of the train as it moved along it's track. This particular track was long and winding, snaking through the country side on a journey to deliver passengers to their destination of the small town ahead. Though the track ended about a mile away from Oakthrope academy, the small town the tracks led to was not the end of someone else's journey.
As the train pulled out of the small station, a young teenage girl watched it go. One hand grasped the black handle of a medium sized suitcase, while the other held the string strap of a back that had been slung over her shoulder. Long blonde hair fell over her right ear, and a gentle wave of blonde framed that side of her face as she look out over the forest that lay past the tracks. There was a moment where, though the train had already begun fading in the distance, she stood still, bright green optics looking forward, before the girl turned away and started walking.
It was hard for Lania to imagine what it was going to be like. Her new life was only a short bus ride away, and she was, in all honesty, nervous. She didn't know what kind of people would be at the Academy, and not even who she would be living this. This was one of the main things that worried the teen, and as she boarded the bus that would take her there, she hoped that she would get along with her dorm mate.
The girl hadn't even been thinking about her powers lately, but as she tried to imagine what kind of person she would be living with for the next year, she tried to guess what kind of power they had. Lania had never met anyone else with powers, and had no idea what kind of powers there even were. Was there someone who could turn invisible? Were mythical creatures like werewolves and centaurs real? There were in truth a lot of possibilities, if she could turn into a cat, what could everyone else do? Perhaps there would even be someone who could shape shift as well. This excited Lania. Though some small part of her would like to be unique, and be the only shape shifter there, she also wanted to meet someone else like herself. Lost in thought, the girl hadn't even realized that the bus had come to a stop, and the doors had opened. 'Anyone getting off?' The bus driver asked, jolting Lania back to reality. Standing up, she quickly gathered her things and got off the bus, pulling her suitcase down after her. With a thump, the bus doors closed, and the girl was left standing, all alone on a short expanse of gravel. Lania took a step back, her shoes crunching loudly on the gravel. Green grass expanded out in front of her, speckled with trees that quickly became for thick. Turning around, Lania let out an audible gasp, before quickly shutting her mouth. As a kid, she had gone to a smallish school, that was pretty plain, but the Academy was huge, and beautiful, and something she would never have imagined attending. Then remembering that she had to go set up her dorm, the girl quickly hurried forward and entered the building.
