i was wondering how you could get a box? and is it pretty much free?

You need to fill out a form in order to apply for a box. If Shy accepts your application then that means she will star working on your box. When it's done she will give it to you and once the month expires, you pay in order to reset your box so you can have it for another month or so. Shy can probably explain it better then I can, but I kind of summed it up.
