Main Topic ~ Additional Species Information
Hello! Dusa are a new species, and we need some more artists to help out!
What Is a Dusa? wrote:"Dusa" is the name for any of 5 similar species in the closely-related genus Dusa. They are small antelopes, closely related to the Duikers, but they have several distinct characteristics which make them unique among bovids. The greatest difference of all is their diet - all species of Dusa are nearly exclusively carnivorous. They are notoriously difficult to keep in captivity due to their shy nature and strong social bonds, and very few captive packs have been established - until now. A sustainable captive population of Dusa dusa, known as the Striped Dusa or Common Dusa, has been established, and are ready to be adopted out. And who knows - there may even be other Dusa species hidden away within the pack.
Entry Rules
Please create a cover to post all of your entries under.
You may make up to 5 entries - I would rather see quality than quantity.
Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the species info as well as with Dusa colour genetics before you make an entry. Dusa colour genetics are based off of cattle, not horses, and it is very important that you follow that.
It would be best if you had some experience with genetics, as you must post a genotype as well as a coat colour description with your entry.

Additional Information on Dusa Colours
Dusa are an entirely natural species. No unnatural colours or markings are allowed.
Dusa eye colour usually ranges from a bright greenish-yellow, to amber or brown. Fawns are usually born with light-coloured eyes (often blue or green) which change colour with age. Blue or green eyes are very rare in adults.
Dusa may have small white markings on the feet and head without the presence of one of the recognized white spotting genes.
Here are individual links to each of the Dusa Colour Genetics Sheets:

They also contain information about how to find reference pictures for different colours. If you have any questions about Dusa colours or genetics, please feel free to ask here or PM me, and I will be happy to help.
