A couple of new rules are up on the front page, though they're mostly just clarifications:
- When donating, link to the original page the lineart came from. The original artist's rules of use are what is needed, and just showing the image of the blank lineart is insufficient to meet CS requirements.
- If you as a donator want people to contact you or return a character to you, put your name and profile link on the donation form, as otherwise the adopter won't know who the original donator was.
The first rule is very important. Several times now I've had to go searching for a lineart's original page because the donation form didn't give the correct link. It isn't the lineart itself that we need to see, it is the original artist's rules for use, so just linking to an image of the blank lineart or a copy of the lineart on Photobucket is insufficient to meet CS rules about lineart use. If the lineart's original page isn't linked to, the donation can't be put up for adoption. Simple as that. If the lineart is your own, this doesn't apply.
For the second 'rule', that's more a matter of common sense - we don't put the donator's name on the donation when it's posted, so if you want the potential adopters to know who you are, you need to give them that information yourself. Most of the time I just add in the donator's name in brackets wherever they say 'me', but it would be helpful if people would do that themselves. ;3 Adding a profile link isn't necessary, but it is useful and will help the adopter contact you.
