This Marionette Shisa is quite old. It was hand crafted by a particularly odd Elder. They took the soul of a deceased Shisa and used old magic to bind it to the crystal you see on this Shisa.

Hmm.... It seems as though it's mask is blank... how odd.

The string on its front right leg is wrapped around it, and the front left one is knotted a little.
And the string on its collar has an operating cross/control bar tied near the end of it.

I forgot to mention that because this Shisa is a Marionette that is can NOT breed!

*** Though it cannot breed, it can still have a mate/significant other. It still has all of its emotions and memories and stuffs (if you choose for it to) so it is capable of love. It will just not be able to have any litters/nests.

The story of this Shisa Guardian started before you were born, before many of the people you knew were born.
But it starts with one family, a very specific family at that. The Nikolaevna family of Russia was the family that
drew this very special Shisa Guardian into existence but it was the youngest of the Tsar's daughters that held her
heart and who this special Shisa bonded strongly too.

Anastasia Nikolaevna was born on a very fateful day, the day that the unnamed Shisa started her own journey to
find the family she would protect, honor and love. Something called to her, clear in her mind. Anastasia was the
one that would be her guidance, that would be her one and only. It took three weeks for the Shisa to finally get
to the Nikolaevna family's estate.

When this Guardian reached the home, the Tsar met her. He had been confused, a mythical creature was here for
one of them. He was mistaken, thinking she was there for him. The Tsar, once the delusion was broken, understood
that his youngest daughter... the one the whole family thought was a mistake was actually important to both of them.
the Tsar and to Katya Aywa, which was the previously unnamed Shisa, now knew that they would protect the girl no
matter the cost.

Anastasia and Katya were so alike yet so different. Anastasia was known as a trouble maker, while Katya followed her
picking up her messes and fixing all their problems. But the devotion between the two was palpable in the air. When
Anastasia would fall ill, Katya refused to let anyone but a choice few take care of her. She was always at her side, and
would lay over her at night... protecting the child.

It was one of those nights when tragedy struck.
Both Anastasia and Katya were awoken in the dead of night, told to be dress and shipped out of their house. The war had
caused stress and their family had been stuck in the middle of it all. When all of the family was in one room, the Tsar
was told they were being executed. The Tsar had time to say only "What?" and turn to his family before he was killed by
several bullets to the chest. Katya at that moment lost it, and fully attacked the men who were in the room.

But.. the sad truth was that they didn't survive.
The whole family, including Anastasia and Katya were killed.
And the memory of that night drifted in the air and made its mark into the history textbooks.
In the end, Katya tried to complete her duty... and fought til the bitter end.
And he simple crystal faded out.

Now, you must be asking.
Why are we talking about them still?
Well.. that is because that was not the end of story of this Shisa Guardian.

Years after the horrifying incident with the Nikolaevna family and the murders that had happened, an odd elder flipped
through some of the stories. The elder saw a single picture, it was one of Anastasia and Katya sitting happily on a spring day.
He saw how happy both looked, how obviously proud and protective Katya was over her special family. And in his heart,
the elder felt a deep sadness. It had not been the time for Katya to die, such an amazing Shisa Guardian had been given a
horrid hand when it came to the game of life.

So, he chose to do something that he would not do for just any Shisa Guardian.
And the world re-welcomed Katya.
But something was different, her essence.. her soul.. her reason for living had been destroyed. So when the elder brought her
back in the form of the marionette, Katya was extremely different. She seemed cold and dishearted, but the elder still saw
a spark that not many of the Shisa's had.

So something else was given to her, a new name.
Seeing as the family she had protected with her life was Russian, the elder bestowed her with the name. Tsarina, the name
for an empress in old Russian. This name brought back some life to the marionette Shisa, bringing her happy memories of her
family and the life she no longer had.

But another fateful day was had.
Tsarina was wondering about a city in Russia, looking and watching. Strangers passed her by, thinking she was just a doll.
There was one girl, one with blue eyes and a stare that reminded her of something, who stopped and knelt down to the
Shisa. The two stared at eachother before the mystery girl extended her hand..


"Hello."
Tsarina just stared, blankly at her. Something was stirring in her. Every crevice of her marionette heart was thumping, and
her crystal started to glow... something that hadn't happened for a very long time. So, hesitantly the shisa extended her paw
and placed it in the girl's hand. Something unexpected happened. Memories. Memories of Anastasia and their family. This girl
looked exactly like her.

So the Shisa asked, quietly. "Wh-What is your name?"
And the girl gave a simple answer, but one that impacted her life from that very day on.

"Anastasia."




The once unhappy and lost Shisa is now trying to move on, step by step with her new loving and amusing Anastasia.
And one of the things that her new family chose to do was to repaint her, and bring her to a new glory.

The process was very long, and hard for both of them. The two learned alot about themselves as they both tried to make it
work. Anastasia had to polish her down, remove the old paint. That process on its own, took months. Tsarina would whimper
and cry, it wasn't a pleasant experience for either of them. But the Shisa trusted her, and it became easier for her... it almost
became something she enjoyed.

The best day out of their growing connection was when the two went out to pick out the paints that they wanted to use on
Tsarina. Both were represented in the choices, Anastasia chose the pale seafoam green because it was her favorite color.
While Tsarina took white, which represented her old name... since Katya's name meant pure soul and white represents purity.
The design though was something that took years..

But one day, the two had an epiphany.
The two colored and painted Tsarina in swirls and circles, one representing how they would draw being reborn and the other
being like "the circle of life." When it was completed, both cried. The two knew it was perfect, they knew that this was really
how she was suppose to be now.

And finally Tsarina was complete.
She still was different than before, but the two completed each other in every way.
This is the story of her fully becoming Tsarina.





Tsarina chose her mask before she went on her journey of paint with her new Anastasia.
During that type, she felt fragile and easily breakable. And this was what inspired the mask that she wears to this very day.
The mask was white, much like the paint she chose for her pelt. And it looks like layered lace over a sleek simple mask.

Walking through the old part of the shop, I saw many puppets and Marionettes. The previous owner had been a postmaster, and they'd sold all of their creations along with the store, which is probably why it didn't sell. No one wanted so many puppets. And a lot needed repainting before they could be sold.
I saw one that looked so close to a Shisa that I thought it might be one. It even had the Crystal. I reached out to touch it and was met with more than one growl. A Shisa that looked like an elder, and - somehow - the marionette itself.
But the elder stopped, and came to me. She looked hopeful as she sniffed me, then yipped and the marionette came forward, pressing it's wooden face into my hand. It was rough wood, and only a little paint remained. I began to pet him, and he seemed to like me. His Crystal glowed brighter in the semidarkness, I think he was lonely.
Something about the puppet seemed off, though.
The Elder made a small noise and gave me a photo. It was old and in a slightly broken and dusty frame, but the dust had been cleared off enough to show an old man with a green-and-white Shisa. The marionette had been a real one once. The Elder must have transfered him. I wondered if they were related.
So I asked.
The two looked at each other, with a fondness only found between mates. And I knew.
I told the elder I would take care of him. She jumped at me and seemed so happy I couldn't help but laugh. She nuzzled her mate and turned to leave. She had a family too. Saying good bye, I called to the Marrionette. We went to the wall of paint. The puppeteer had died and left all of them here. He said in his Will they were to be sold with the shop, as he had no family to give them to. So his Guardian died too. The Elder had revived him because of her love, and so as I painted him I began to think of a name.
Finally, together we settled on Darius.
When we were done with him, I noticed his mask. It was blank!
Looking at the paint on the walls and remembering his lover, I picked up grey, white, pink, and red. I began to paint it as he watched me, going on gut instinct. In the center on his muzzle, I painted a red heart trimmed with pink. I added three red and pink stripes going down the face (Ear to nose), one on the left, and two on the right. I thought I was done, but he wanted to add his own touch, so I let him. He took the grey and made sots around the eyes, and darkened the edges. He had me help him with an airbrush so he could paint the nose a fade into a stripe that went up the center of his face.
When it was dry, he put it on immediately.
I told him he looked handsome.
