Hey, I just want to say real quick... I suck at talking to people, I'm unfairly awkward, so please don't let me scare you off. If I say something stupid, I'd rather be corrected than ignored. in the history description, she was taken by the orcs and later saved by her sons and physically healed by elrond, but never really healed emotionally and mentally- this is where her blindness comes in sort of-

Trust me. I completely understand. I am the same way <3 I promise you you'd never creep me out or anything to the point I'd give up. The internet and typing even makes it harder to get tones across as well, so I completely understand <3.
