Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.

Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

Why Arcturus adopted her:
He found her in the woods, whining loudly and sadly. He had been alone for who knows how
long and was missing his family a bit. He knew she would die on her own so he decided to
take care of her. He taught her all he knows about life in the wilds of Delta Velorum without
a clan to support you. She knows the secret ways of the woods that clan foxes dare not
approach, all the hidden sanctuaries far from danger. Arcturus told her she was adopted,
which he believed was the best move parenting wise.
Personality:
At first, she was quiet and kept to herself, but as she grows older she becomes more bold
and outspoken. She takes more risks. Arcturus taught her to be silent when it counts and
to say what needs to be said. She knows she had a sibling, and always wonders what became
of her lost brother. She hopes that one day they might meet again.
Arcturus's relationship with her
Arcturus loves his adopted kit very much. Nearly as much as the family he left behind.
He only wishes he had found her sooner. He hasn't told Sara about his other family, his mate,
his kits, from those many seasons past. He fears the day will come when they meet his son
once again and he won't know what to say. He has spent just as long a time with Sara as he
spent with his other kits, perhaps even more. He is proud of her achievements, and is always
there to catch her when she falls. He believes that if it weren't for her, he would have
become a shell of a fox, cold and empty inside. Sara brings joy to his world.

"I was happy.

Yes, very happy with my life. I was happy with my sibling and my mother and my father. I was happy with the stone cave we lived in that was next to the big river that all the flowers would grow by in the spring.

It did not last.

One night, one terribly cold night, there was a sound. A twig snapping. A growl. Before we could react, it was upon us.
My family.
My family taken before my eyes, and me and my sibling left to die. Then there was.. a vixen! She raced over. At first, I was scared. But, when she said she would take care of us, I believed her. But, suddenly, when she picked me up, my sibling was no where to be seen! Then we heard another sound.
Another snapping sound.
Daisy, without turning back, fled. She carried me. As she ran, I looked back. My sibling. Gone."

"I was crying by the time we reached the new home. It was in a forest. We stopped next to a large tree. It was hollow. When I asked her where we slept, she said that we sleep in the tree. I stared in wonder. She sniffed me and nuzzled me and tried to comfort me. I knew I could never be the same. I sobbed bitterly. She told me that she was going to be my family. Then she looked at me in the eye and asked me if I had a name. I froze. I didn't. I had no identity. I shook my head and she told me her name was Daisy. Then Daisy smiled and told me that I should choose my own name. I thought about that for a while. Then it hit me.
Hope.
I wanted my name to be Hope.
With that name, I would always remember. Always remember my close escape and the kindness of a vixen that saved my life. It would help me never forget my lost sibling who I would never see again.
I told Daisy I wanted my name to be hope, and she agreed. She gave me a necklace, too. It was a string with a blue feather on it. I smiled. We sat in silence as the sun set into the distant mountains. Then we climbed into the hollow. It was surprisingly comfy, and I fell into a dreamless sleep.
This was my home now."

"I actually don't know. I heard the sound, and all I knew that it was going to hurt us, so I ran."

"Yes, very very much. But, I knew I couldn't get them. If I did, we might have not survived."
"Uh-huh. Why did you give Hope a necklace?"
"Well, I gave it to her to show her that we were a family now. I have my own necklace, too. It's just a red feather instead of Hope's blue."
