So I realize I should have asked this awhile ago but back before the thread switch I was a judge for these babes and I was just curious when apps might be opening again? c:

We don't know, it may take some time and all staff will be on trial runs before becoming official as most of the staff was inactive and thus was removed because of it for they gave no reason for them not to be active here. We will post when they are open, but until I check with Lirrie or until she posts, they are closed.

I have worked for several other adoptables throughtout my many years here on CS but most of them have died off or been closed. Currently I run my own species [which unfortunately is dying] and work for Calvent Dragons, Purgonines, Stranac Dragons, and EɴᴇʀʀᴏX.

Experience: I have had past experience being a moderator for Crimson Dragons (or something like that, the species is dead), Umbrulfs (an offsite species that just died down recently), Puffsnouts (also dead), and I am currently a moderator for Jewel Mane Dragons, which is unfortunately not very active at the moment.
I've guest judged for a few competitions here and there, and I'd say that I give pretty good critique when it comes down to judging forms, especially longer ones with more detail. I've also been an artist for a couple of species, so I've had to judge forms for those as well, though they were simpler ^^

Kosuke is steadfast, and doesn't budge when it comes to the things that matter to him. Be that his morals, personal beliefs, or his love for others, he won't be moved, no matter what others try to say about him. He is very strong in his beliefs, and doesn't take any flack about it from anyone. He loves others deeply, with sincerity that isn't seen very often in his world. If someone tries to contradict what he knows is right, he'll stand his ground and will never give up - even if it means losing someone's trust in an argument. He has lost "friends" before to arguments such as this one where he knew he was right and the other Cryst was wrong, but he stood his ground and ended up winning the battle...but he lost his "friends," whom he later realized were never his friends to begin with.

He is reserved, but confident - he walks with his head held high, and doesn't just scurry along like a mouse. He is also content, feeling glad with what he has, and rarely yearning for more material possessions. He is an excellent decision maker, and he tends to always pick the better of two options.

Kosuke definitely dances to his own beat, as he doesn't take others' opinions of him as valid, most of the time. He doesn't care if someone disagrees with him or badgers him to stop doing something he knows is right - he'll just continue to do what he needs to do, and tends to not listen to the haters.

Kosuke may be quiet by nature, but he'll speak up if he needs to. He's very intelligent and loves to converse with other Crysts, though most of the time they're not very willing to talk to him due to his "weird" beliefs. He's logical and tends to focus on details - he's also emotional and can easily understand why certain Crysts do certain things.

Kosuke is very calm, and rarely loses his temper. He had parents who lost their tempers frequently, and learned from them what not to do to others. He is very patient, as he doesn't get frustrated with others easily. He tries his hardest to be understanding and kind to those who are less intelligent than he, as he knows that no one likes to be made fun of.

He tends to lean more towards the serious side of the spectrum between joking and serious - he isn't a prankster and doesn't crack jokes, though he will laugh at them if he finds them funny. His eyes often show what he's feeling more than his outward expression will, as his eyes are very expressive. Anyone who focuses on them will clearly see what he's thinking about, or at least be able to tell what his emotional state is at that moment.

History:
Early Life - Teen Years
He leapt off the face of the cliff, falling through air. Smiling as the wind whipped his fur back, he spread out his paws, falling gracefully, an almost peaceful expression on his face. He landed in the water, the splash large and covering the coastline and drowning the sand. As he swam up to the shore, he shook his pelt and watched as the droplets darkened the sand that he stood upon. As he sat, drying in the warm sunlight, he lost himself in thought. There aren't many Crystinalians around these parts. I wonder where they all went to? As a youngster I can remember sleeping in the caves...there were many then. Now there are less. I don't know where they went to...perhaps they went off in search of a new home. But if that's the case, then why in the world did they leave such a lush, lavish paradise? Sure, we have horribly hot summers here, and the heat is quite difficult to bear with our long coats, but as long as we stay inside the cave or lay in the shade, we're fine. I don't understand why anyone would want to leave.
He lived in a beach-like environment, the waters that lay before him salty in type. Freshwater was available in small pools by the cave systems that ran through the entire middle of the island, which was connected to the mainland by a narrow sandbar that disappeared in the winter months, when the waters swelled to twice their normal size, but was easily accessible during the hot summer months, when all of the water on the island seemed to dry up slightly - there were always Crysts that ended up going thirsty in the summer months, no matter how much the Guardian of the province rationed the water. In Spring, Autumn, and Winter the climate was excellent, not too cool and not too hot. It was always the right temperature during these parts of the year. During the Summer, however, the heat waves struck. Crysts would be forced by the heat to stay inside the cool cave systems or lay in the shade of the many trees that dotted the island, lest they get dizzy from the direction contact with the harsh sunlight.
"Kosuke!"
Suddenly snapped out of his thoughts, the male glanced back upon hearing his name. "Oh, hello, Lilach."
She ruffled the fur atop his head with an outstretched white paw. "HWhat are you doing all the way out here?"
Kosuke shrugged. "Just thinking. Needed some space."
Lilach nodded, sitting next to him. "That's why I came out here, myself, actually."
"Parents ruffling your fur again?"
"Yup. They just can't seem to get it out of their heads that I need to find a mate."
"Well, that's annoying. I know how you feel. My grandparents are the same way with me."
"Your parents don't care?"
"Oh, they want me to find a mate, all right. In fact, they push more than my grandparents do! But I don't really listen to them, most of the time. They have never cared about what was best for me and my life. They think I should live just as they did, and, well, maybe I don't want to live exactly like they did. Maybe I want to live my own life." He sighed, running a paw over his face before continuing. "My grandparents are more like my real parents, anyway. They care for me. My grandfather even taught me to hunt - which was something my own father never bothered to do."
"I often forget how neglectful your parents are. Makes me grateful for my parents, I suppose."
"Yeah, I guess it would."
"Well, I'll leave you to your thinking. See you around, Kosuke."
"Bye, Lilach."

Kosuke stayed on the beach for the entire day, not wanting the drama related to going back to the caves. He fell asleep under a tree, and awoke to the sounds of gulls crying, the ocean lapping the shore. He smiled as he stretched, shaking the loose grains of sand from his thin pelt. When he turned around, he was surprised to see Margaret sneaking out, the early-morning sun illuminating her soft, pale yellow coat. Her pale amber eyes sparked as she raced as fast as she could out of the caves and safely into the shadows. Narrowing his eyes, Kosuke decided to follow her.
When he'd caught up with her, he whispered, "What are you doing out so early?"
She started, and almost shrieked in surprise. "Don't scare me like that!" she hoarsely whispered, her amber eyes blazing with fury. "Do you want us BOTH to get caught?"
Kosuke shook his head, kneading the ground with his paws. "But, Margaret - "
"And don't call me that," she hissed, ears lying flat against her skull. "I can't stand that name. Just call me Maggie, okay?"
Kosuke nodded, flicking his tail. "So, where are you headed?"
"I'm going out to hunt before your parents wake up to go out to hunt for the rest of the pack."
"May I join you?"
She had calmed down by now, and nodded, smiling at her friend. "Sorry about snapping at you," she said, plodding along ahead, further down the beach to the ocean that lapped the shore. "I just really hate getting scared."
"It's fine - I should've made myself better known, anyways."
She shrugged. "Don't be too hard on yourself - I'm really easily scared."
When they got to the water, both Kosuke and Maggie started fishing, dipping their paws into the water at just the right moment so as to scoop the fish out. If that didn't work, they'd stab at it with their claws, killing each fish quickly and easily from their sharpness. And, if THAT didn't work, they'd dip their heads into the water and bite the fish as the swam past, quickly killing them before yanking them out of the current. After an hour, they had both caught enough fish to feed half of the pack. They managed to drag almost all of it back to the caves, depositing it in the shade so it wouldn't go bad in the sun. They ate a few fish together, laying beside each other as they scarfed down their meal.
"Kosuke?"
"Yes?"
"Why don't you like to hang around the pack?"
Kosuke sighed, finishing up his fish before looking over at Maggie. "They just don't understand me. I mean, sure, you and Lilach do, but everyone else just doesn't get that I'm not like them. Why hang around them if they're only going to be close-minded about everything I bring up?"
"Like what?" Maggie pressed further, scarfing down another whole fish before glancing at the two next to Kosuke. "You gonna finish them?" she said, flicking her paw in their direction.
Kosuke shook his head, shoving them over to her. "Go ahead. Anyways, the most recent thing has been the fact that my parents want me to find a mate. I'm just not feeling it. Like, you know how they always say that you'll just look at someone and BAM - you'll want to mate? That hasn't happened to me yet...and I've looked at plenty of girls."
Maggie chuckled. "I thought you would've said that you liked guys."
"WHAT?!" Kosuke said, frowning. "I like girls! Why wouldn't I like girls?!"
She laughed, swallowing another fish whole. "You're not really the most manly-guy I know, Kosuke. You don't fight, you don't train for fights, you don't hunt unless you have to...you're a rather calm guy. You're different from the others. Not bad - just different."
Kosuke sighed, burying his face under his paws. "I can't believe that you thought I was gay," he mumbled unhappily.
Maggie poked his head playfully. "Stop being so dramatic."
"If YOU thought that, then how many OTHER Crysts have thought that?" He buried his face deeper under his paws.
"Look, we all make mistakes, okay? Just let it go."
Kosuke didn't move.
"C'mon. It was just an honest mistake."
"Did you tell anyone else?"
"No."
Kosuke didn't respond.
"I promise, okay?" Maggie suddenly smiled, getting an idea. She trotted far away, lined her body up with Kosuke, and raced forward as fast as her thick legs would carry her. She launched into the air, landing atop Kosuke with as much force as she could muster.
Kosuke was frightened by the sudden weight upon his back, and he flipped out of the sand defensively. He managed to buck her off and pin her to the ground. "I don't get angry very often, Maggie, but you're REALLY trying my patience," he said through gritted teeth.
"Start having fun!" she retorted. "You're too logical to have fun."
"That's ridiculous!"
"You won't have fun because you're worried you'll look stupid."
Kosuke let her up, not answering her inquiry.
"Well, I can promise you this," she said, shaking the sand out of her fur, "I won't EVER call you stupid for enjoying something - no matter what it is. Okay?"
Kosuke nodded. "Okay. Thanks, Mags. I mean, uh, um, Maggie." He swallowed in humiliation, not believing that his nickname for her had finally come out of his mouth.
She giggled and swatted his ears. "'Mags,' huh? I kinda like that nickname. Thanks for the new one, Kosuke!" She waved as she turned. "I'm going back to the cave. Your parents seem to be up now, so I won't have to fight with them over a spot to sleep. See ya later!"
His face warmed with embarrassment as he watched her saunter off. "Bye, Mags."

Mid-Life - Early Adult Years
"You can't stop me from doing what I like to do! It's not like I'm hurting anyone!"
"Don't you dare talk to your father that way!"
"Oh, like you're going to make me? If you won't respect my decisions - and I'm not saying you have to agree with them; just respect them - then I'm outta here!"
"You walk out that cave entrance, so help me, Kosuke - "
"You'll WHAT, Mom? What'll you do?"
She raced off, tears streaming down her face.
Turning to his father, Kosuke continued. "Sure, Mom has had her bad days, but we both know this is between you and me."
"Then let's settle this," his father responded hotly.
"Ever since Grandma and Grandpa died, you've been nothing but cruel to both me and Mom! She doesn't deserve it, and neither do I! I can't control her life, nor will I attempt to - she's got to decide where to go from here. As for me, I'm leaving. If you won't even be open to the idea of at least respecting how I want to live - which is, as of this moment, without a wife or kids - then I'll go to a place where I AM respected for my decisions. It's not like I'm doing anything wrong! Why can't you see that?"
His father's green eyes blazed as he stepped closer to his son. He whispered one final thing into his son's ear before he left the cave. "You are such a disappointment, Kosuke. I wish I'd never had you. I wish you weren't my son." He left the cave without looking back.
Kosuke's eyes filled with tears. As they streamed down his face, he gathered the one item he'd managed to find and save over the years - a piece of twine (obtained from the dragon named Ätzende - he ran the shop where Crystinalians were able to trade for hard to find items) with a shark's tooth on the end (he'd found this by the seashore one day) - and left. He headed for Lilach's family's section of the cave system, shaking his fur to get rid of the damp water that gathered on his pelt from the water-based atmosphere. Reaching the entrance, he called through the opening in the wall. "Lilach? Are you there?"
Her father came out. "Why, hello, Kosuke. Lilach is out with Margaret at the moment."
"Do you know where they went?"
"I think she mentioned that they were going to try to catch some crabs for a snack."
"Thanks a lot, Mr. Tryphena."
He nodded and then turned to walk away. "Goodbye."
Kosuke turned and raced out, dodging the Crysts that threatened to block his path. He finally made it out to the open, and spotted two light-colored Crysts at the shoreline, dodging the waves as they pawed at the ground for something. Narrowing his eyes, he ran so fast he practically flew off of the ground, reaching them in a matter of minutes. "Mags!" he said, skidding to a halt before a wave bowled him over, soaking him to the bone. The necklace around his neck tightened, but didn't break. He stood, a perturbed look on his face as water streamed off of his pelt.
Maggie burst out laughing at the same time Lilach did. She finally managed out a few words, her amber eyes gleaming with joy. "Oh, Kosuke! You're so clumsy!"
Kosuke shook off as much water as he could, the look of annoyance on his face, giving way to one of concern as he came closer to the other to Crysts. "Lilach, Mags...I have something I have to tell you. I'm leaving."
Maggie stopped laughing abruptly. "Wait, what?"
Lilach frowned. "What do you mean? You're leaving right now? Why?"
Kosuke sighed. "I don't have time to explain. I'm just here to say goodbye to the only two friends I have." He rubbed his head against Lilach's first, being careful to not dislodge her headdress. "You've always been there for me, Lilach. Thanks."
Lilach sniffled, holding back tears. "You've always been a great friend, you fuzzball. I promise that I'll never forget you."
Kosuke turned to Maggie next, and rubbed his head against hers as well. "Love you, Mags," he murmured into her ear.
Maggie stepped back, a determined look on her face. "I'm coming with you."
Kosuke frowned. "You CAN'T come along! You have a family!"
"Yeah, one that doesn't give two flicks of an ear about me. I'm going with you." She then turned to her best friend Lilach and rubbed her head against her friend's head. She lightly touched her paw against her friend's silvery-white one. "We both know how unhappy I am here, Lilach. You and Kosuke are my only real friends. My family doesn't really even exist - I'm an orphan."
Lilach sniffed, angry that her friends were leaving, but also sad. "You'll always be like a sister to me."
She nodded sighed, and then turned to Kosuke. "Lead the way, buddy," she said, a sad smile on her lips.
"Don't you have anything?" he asked, making sure his shark-tooth necklace was still tight around his neck.
"No - the only thing I have I can't bring along," she said, glancing back at Lilach.
Kosuke nodded, flicking his tail as a sign of leadership as he padded off in a direction none of the Crysts had ever set out upon before.
Maggie said one final goodbye to Lilach, and then padded after Kosuke, stepping in the tracks he'd left behind.
