Hey guys!

So, of course, my Oekaki has stopped working, just in time for my trip so I don't mind too much (though I'd have loved to have finished up the breedings and made a couple more adopts ^^'). However, with that being said, I have decided to announce the changes to...

Conformation Shows

So right now conformation shows are basically where we add up all the conformation stats of the horses and whoever has the most wins... boring. And to be completely honest, the Fjords would win every time, which isn't fair to the non-Fjord breeders who've been trying to catch up while maintaining pure bloodlines. Besides, simple addition isn't really realistic; in real-life, a horse with a gorgeous shoulder and hindquarter but with an awful, swayed, mile-long back wouldn't beat the pony who's got average everything but is well-balanced overall. That's what we're going to aim to do here.

I'm still debating whether RVEC will be hosting conformation shows themselves or if that ought to be left up to the registries; if RVEC does, I have a general idea as to how breed shows could work that would make them very unique and desirable (they would, of course, be able to host conformation shows as well, but it would be a part of something bigger), but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. However, conformation shows will now be run in the following manner:

Horses are judged on the distribution of their stats. In other words, a horse with:

Head: 6
Neck: 8
Shoulders: 9
Forelegs: 8
Chest: 10
Barrel: 7
Hindquarters: 7
Hind legs: 9
Feet: 7
Action: 6
Coat: 8

Would beat a horse with:

Head: 5
Neck: 8
Shoulders: 13
Forelegs: 2
Chest: 4
Barrel: 10
Hindquarters: 14
Hind legs: 3
Feet: 9
Action: 10
Coat: 13

And such. I've set to figure out exactly how balance will be determined -- perhaps subtracting the lowest stat from the highest stat and having the smallest number win? -- but I'm not sure yet.

I've got to leave soon, so I'll get on later if I have wifi -- but if not, I will talk to you all on Monday! <3

Several breedings have been finished; I don't have time to post them right now, but go ahead and check to see if one or more of them is yours c:

I do like solid coloured horses :) I have seen some nice paints and coloureds but I have never wanted one of I own or anything like that, I went through a faze were I loved coloureds but I would rather own a solid horse, my fav colour is Dun, black or a black-brown (seal brown) which is the colour my horse is registered as :) I am very dull with the colours

herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.
