Bramblepaw blinked a few times, feeling his pelt heat up in embarrassment. "W-What? How do you know that...? Honeypaw couldn't like me, I'm a big baby! And how could I forget that now that you told m-me?" He squeaked, frowning a bit, and glancing to the side. "The only thing that makes me useful is how slim I am, and how fast I am." He mumbled. His ears twitched. "Besides, Honeypaw would focus on her duties, not on some dumb tom..."

"You can always change your mind, you know," she said to Honeypaw. They slid under the branches into the den. "Aspen, would you take Honeypaw under your wing and train her all your ways?"

"Love doesn't work that way," she sang, then whispered, "I can see it in her eyes, she likes you." She blinked as Honeypaw and Owlstar entered. "Sure, I was thinking of staying for a while... But Honeypaw, Bramblepaw wants to talk to you first!"

Aspen nudged Bramblepaw with a forepaw, now unable to suppress a smile. She noticed that Owlstar knew what that look on her face meant.

Bramblepaw's eyes widened in shock as Honeypaw and Owlstar entered, surprise hitting him like a punch in the face; he hardly even heard Aspen's comment. He glanced at the loner briefly and gave a quick shake of his head. He leaned over, hissing, "What do you expect me to say??" Then glanced at Honeypaw, sighing. Now he felt pressured. Why did Aspen say that....? Honeypaw was one of his best friends.... He didn't want to lose her, but that wouldn't change even if she were a medicine cat, would it...? Did she think it would? He wasn't really sure what to say. "Honeypaw.... You know, you don't have to become a medicine cat...."

My eyes widen as Aspen nudges Bramblepaw with her paw. I give my chest an embarrassed lick. What is Aspen doing? As Bramblepaw comes in, I see that he doesn't know what to say. As he asks his question, I slightly turn my head. "What do you mean?" Why wouldn't I choose this path of helping cats and having a relationship with Starclan?

Sighing softly once more, Bramblepaw twitched his ears to show Aspen he had heard. He shifted his paws uncomfortably and avoided Honeypaw's gaze at first. "Well, um... I mean, if you really do want to, and you think it's what's right for you... Then go right ahead. I won't stop you from fulfilling your destiny. But... If you're doing it just because of me... Please, don't. Because I can assure you, I think I feel the same way."
