In Arithmancy, I was paired with this girl:

She seems nice, but she's really quiet.
Hi. What's your name?My name is Torane.I'm Allyssa. We practiced the simple charms and spells together until the end of class. Then Ximion and Akyra and I walked to the Arena for Double ability training. I was to train with Ximion. I walked over to a training cage, Ximion on one side, me on the other. The black walls raised and the ceiling locked into place, blocking out all of the light. The walls are magic-proof, so nothing can escape and effect someone else. We don't know each other's abilities, and after the match, he won't know exactly what I used on him, and I won't know what he used on me, because the walls have an enchantment on them, to erase the memories of the match entirely. The match started.
As I got ready to steal his soul, remembering how to return it to him later, I felt something, no, someone touching my mind, trying to get past my barriers. I lost focus, and the thing got in. I saw Hyjinx, all the good times we had together. And then I saw her die.
This can't be real. She's already dead. I shook my head, and focused. I drew out Ximion's soul. He panicked, his soul scattering. I drew it closer, closer, closer still. The room was aglow with the silvery blue light of his soul. Ximion's body went still. I hated doing this. I really did. But it was necessary to protect myself from him. I have no idea what he could do to me. The images of Hyjinx went away. Ximion's soul wilted, giving up in his resistance. I drew him over more easily now. As he got closer, I found that I could make his body move at my will. His soul went into me through my nose as I breathed in. I blocked him from talking to me, trying to persuade me to let him go. His body moved willingly, there was no soul to fight with over control. I made it walk around, sit down, and roll over. I dropped the control, turning my attention to his soul. I pushed him out a bit, making it turn this way and that. I made it do a loop-de-loop in the air, before I returned him to the body. I had to let him practice too. He went into my mind as I dropped my mental barriers. I saw all these crazy images, showing my doing things or getting punished. I followed their instructions, not even thinking about what each one asked me to do. The last one was different, though. Ximion was asking me why I played with his body and soul. Why I kept playing, even though he begged me to stop. And I had no answer. I was trapped, so I took his soul again. I didn't know what to do. I took him over to me, and as he floated through me, I stopped pulling. Half of him went back to the body of Ximion, but half of it was already absorbed by me. I went to play with his body again. This time, there was some resistance, but not much. I made the body sit again, before letting go. But the body stayed sitting. I didn't know why. I tried to send the rest of Ximion back. But the half of Ximion that was in me didn't want to go back. He clung to me, wrapping himself around my mind. I shoved harder. He eventually let go, and the match ended. We still had another period of training, so as I stepped out, the walls worked their magic, and I sat down, feeling dizzy. But, I stood up. I was the first. The teacher came over.
She is definitely the strongest here. The girl across from me sprinted over.
I want to test that! I'm obviously the strongest here! Let me take her out! That last bit was heavily accented. The teacher's eyes glazed over.
Ok, Auna. Head into the cage then. We walked in. I hated her already. She looks like this:

The walls closed us in. I focused.
I wouldn't do that, if I were you. But, what if I want to? I focused harder.
Well, DON'T! I felt... floaty. Like I should do whatever this girl said. I stopped just before her soul would have been pulled out. I realized that she could manipulate me any way she wanted, but I didn't care. I was in the middle of doing whatever it was she wanted me to do, when Torane teleported into our box. Her attention snapped away from me. Torane's eyes went out of focus, and then Auna went unconscious. The walls went down, and the teacher rushed Auna to the infirmary. Oh, by the way, this is a boarding school. The other day was the end of summer vacation. Torane woke up.
Auna went unconscious! Really?Yeah! We went to our dorms, where I found out that I shared a dorm with Akyra and Torane. I spent the rest of the day with them, because classes were cancelled.
