I agree. ^ I understand they need money for the site but sadly I don't have fodder for baubles or bazaar pets in general. I love the new bazaar pet though. Too bad.

Sometimes I think so too, that there are too many releases in a short period of time. But then I remind myself that generally, the art quality on eld is pretty high, not to mention eld doesn't have ads so the only way they can get money for their servers is through the bazaar. And also the admins don't have to make a valentines day release, but they took the time to make a pet for us to enjoy, which is better than nothing in my opinion.

It shouldn't actually be hard to trade for the bazaar pets even if you can't buy your own baubles. Some people buy like 10 sets immediately after a new release in the bazaar, it's not like there are hardly any duplicates in circulation. It's also a good idea to check the giveaways forums. (For example, my friend ElijahWilkes hosts giveaways for each release. Currently for February he has two store sleipnir giveaways up, with a total of 4 sets up for winning.)

Plus, it's not that hard to accumulate baubles. Not easy either, but there are enough people who are willing to pay lots of baubles for hoard pets. Monthly extras could earn you several baubles at a time if you find a hoarder, that means you should definitely be able to get more than two trades for baubles c:

Most giveaways on eld are randomized though? I've never seen a form giveaway on eld yet. That probably doesn't help, exactly, but at least you don't have to pour a lot of effort into a form and feel like you'd not have the chance to win anyway.

There are other hoarders out here but he's the first one I can think of, particularly for this month xD

You also mentioned that there is a bazaar release every month, not two months. CS releases every month, not eld. A bazaar pet for valentines day is the same as it was last year and the price is the same too.
Like Fox said, most giveaways on eld are randomized except a couple who are liking to find people who truly care about eld.

I'm not a fan of so many Bazaar pets either.

But I think the community does a good job of making Baubles easy enough to trade for. It's smaller, of course, but also seems generally nicer and easier to do fair trades with.

And the art/event quality is so much better, so I can understand it.

So, I was expecting a Valentine's release but all they have is a new bazaar pet? ;c
I can't afford any of the existing bazaar pets, let alone a new one.
I think the one thing I really don't like about Eldemore is how everything revolves around the bazaar. Nobody is willing to trade you baubles and not everyone online actually has a credit card to buy them with. They could have at least released one pet that you didn't have to pay for.
I've been on Eld since about November and so far I've only managed about two trades for baubles and that allowed me to buy only one bazaar pet. I just wish they would give us more time.
I really like the art on eldemore but I definitely prefer CS in that they actually give you time to look for the site currency and acquire it for the store release.
1 store pack every 2 months is manageable. 1 store pack every month, sometimes even more than that, is definitely not manageable.

Yes, and as one of the hoarders I can tell you, its a lot harder to find people willing to trade baubles for my hoard pets than you'd think. I'm generally always willing to trade pets or baubles for hoard pets. And while it can be hard to get the bazaar pets, at least there ARE some released. Eld really tries hard to do fun things for holidays and events, and birthdays. As an artist I can sympathize with the admins on the price of the pets, they take time. A lot of time, actually, to make and come up with and then to release, so the money for them needs to come somewhere. All the monthly pets are free, there are no ads, and in general they try hard to keep everything running smoothly. Meaning servers have to be paid for, the website has to be paid for, they have to take time each day to actually work on eld, keep up with internet things, and all that, while maintaining another job, family, and life. Eldemore is Bena Jen and Zay's baby, and that baby has to help support itself or its a dream that wont be able to be continued, and it honestly hurts them each and every time someone posts things like this as if they make you 'pay for' everything on the site just be jerks.

Jen poured her heart into this little guy and instead of admiration, it gets 'ugh, you have to pay for it? It should be free! That's not fair', and that's not a response that's fun to hear. Its one that makes an artist not want to art anymore. I can tell you it would make me sad, and tired, and unappreciated, and I doubt I'd want to art for awhile afterward.

And I'm sorry if I'm ranting, but it's upsetting to hear this after all the recent complaints about the new lines, birthday pets and all that. Eldemore is still an open Beta guys. Figuring out the best possible way to do things is still happening, the backgrounds and time it takes to do all this is WORTH the cost of the pets. They are quality, not quantity.

Plus Eld is still a small site guys, they probably need all the money they can get. I remember an admin saying that after the stone of random thing they finally got enough money to get a new server that they needed. I understand not everyone can obtain baubles easily, either through paying or trading, but it is still possible. You just need to hunt a little harder or start sooner. I knew they did a Valentine's bazaar pet last year so that's what I was expecting this year.

Besides there doesn't even have to be free pets. They could have one free monthly litter and then everything else in the bazaar. I'd rather have Eld be able to support itself than have a 100% complete collection. What use is all the pets if Eld has to shut down? Just aim for a complete non-bazaar collection or once you gather up enough fodder or baubles, try trading for the bazaar pets you've missed. You don't have to get them right when they're released. Heck I didn't get some store pets here on CS until half a year after they came out!
