This tragic love story takes place in around ethnic modern day, but in a simpler world.

Calypso was a beautiful young adult, in her later years of adolescence. She worked hard in her gardens and grew the most gorgeous flowers anyone would have ever seen. She was very kind and wanted the best for everyone she met. Calypso was never one for romance, as she just enjoyed being friends with everyone.
This all changed when one day, a young lad fell in love with her. She barely knew him, but he was always watching her, from afar. The young man wanted to tell her how much he loved her, but he feared he would be rejected by the beautiful girl.
Finally, he worked up the courage to confess his feelings to her. He courted her for the following months. Finally, Calypso, being herself, politely turned him down and told him she only thought of him as a friend.
The man was enraged, he had loved her so deeply for so long. His heart filled with hatred and sorrow, he cursed her then and they're to always fall in love with a man who would never love her back...

Nowadays, Calypso is still the same, except a small part of her heart is filled with the despair and pain caused by love that she never felt. She has met many people whom she's fallen for, but all of them had to leave her or did not love her back.
Calypso now tends her gardens, thinking about how that one young man, always watching her from afar, who changed her entire life.

First off, Calypso is kindhearted and will want to do what's best for anybody. She will do anything to make you happy, and loves seeing people smile. Then she is cheerful, and will always keep a smile on her face, no matter what. You can find her singing heartfelt songs at night outside. Calypso can also be funny, and she loves to make a good joke. She can be sassy and seem to have a lot of attitude but only acts like this with her besets of friends. Finally, she id very down to earth and spiritual; she has suspicious beliefs and tells stories about how the entire world is living and breathing.

✘✘✘✘✘Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young belldandy by the name Chrysanthemum. Her beauty has evident, males fell for her and the females became jealous dark pits. One day, she went to the meadow in the woods for the first time to get a flower that was said to have amazing healing abilities. As she bent down and plucked a flower from the ground, the witch came upon her. The witch was raged that someone would dare pick HER flowers. She said that she had warned the whole village what would happen. But, nobody had said anything about it to her. She knew she told several people that she was going to get flowers. She tried to reason with the witch, telling her that she honestly didn't know. The witch wouldn't listen to the plea's for forgiveness. Instead, she cast a spell On Chrysanthemum. The spell was that the belldandy would be stuck in the flower meadow eternally. But there was a way out. She would have to find true love, then she would be free. Unfortunately, she didn't know that as the witch never told her. But that would be hard considering she was stuck in the meadow.

✘✘✘✘✘And so for the past 8 years (she was 10 at the time when she was trapped) she has been living in the flower meadow, being raised by the forest animals, hoping that one day someone would come along to save her. The witch was nice to give her supplies every week so she could survive. The Belldee tried everything in her power to get out but it was no use. One day she had a light bulb moment. What if she got someone to take her place? Even though she was kind at heart she was desperate and had been lonely for far to long.

✘✘✘✘✘While thinking in that little meadow, a belldandy that looked similar to a husky, was running through the forest. He came upon the meadow and stared in awe as he saw the maiden in the flowers. "What's a pretty girl like you doing in these woods by yourself?" He cooed, to not scare the girl. She turned and smiled at the handsome man, glad that she had such luck. "I am looking for a certain flower. Looks like this one." She said pointing to a flower in her braid. He quickly went to work in searching for that exact flower, walking in to the meadow. He quickly found it. "Here ma 'lady." He said quickly plucking the flower. But the witch didn't show up. She didn't feel any different. Darn I guess that didn't work. She thought, silently pouting.The male noticed and went to her, flower in hand. Chrysanthemum didn't even noticed. Not until her tucked the flower behind her floppy ear. She gasped and looked up. Her heart jumped, her face heated up. Something started happening. The air around the meadow shimmered the shattered, sparkling shards lightly raining down. Her eyes then filled with unshed tears and she clung to the belldandy she didn't even know.

✘✘✘✘✘From then on, she has tagged on with the male, encouraging him to keep going in that sled of his. Even though her heart has opened up to him, he thinks of her as more of a sister then anything, so he kinda shrugs her off. Even though Chrysanthemum is broken by this, she sticks with him, happy that she has at least someone, anyone.
