Howrse is notoriously awful about art theft and things like that. So good luck with getting it sorted out.

After watching things and reading through responses everyone has had to everything, I honestly have to say that I am extremely disappointed. I wish that this could be a community where people can express their opinions without being hateful and without receiving such aggressive backlash. I try to do what will be best for the community and what will help us grow and make progress. I feel like any time something is announced or updates made I have to fear this community because I know there will always be at least one person that comes back with something hateful to say rather than stating their opinion calmly and discussing issues in a civil and reasonable manner. I wouldn't mind calm debates over changes that may be made so that I can get an idea of what people like about certain updates and what they don't, and so that no one fears discussing things. I honestly fear making any posts discussing the future of the tolters because reactions like this may happen. I don't want bear run to be that. I want it to be a growing community that people are comfortable and happy in. No one should be so anxious about posting something in this community that they are literally shaking, or they don't post at all because they fear the people that may respond. The hissy fits people have are ridiculous. Taking a break is no issue, do that if you feel you need to. But don't have a fit and bad mouth.

Looking at things now, and thinking them over, I do realize that I should have gone about the artists situation differently. I sincerely apologize for not going about it in a more sensitive and thoughtful way. To be honest, the reason messages were not sent out was due to cowardice on my part. I was afraid of the arguments I would get into if the artists wanted to challenge the decision and I thought that simply posting a warning in the club a while back would suffice. Clearly that was not the case, and that was a massive error on my part. In the future I will be more careful about how I go about announcements like this and again, I genuinely apologize.

Sadly, I do expect this post to be picked apart and beaten like a dead horse, but I've just accepted that fact and figured it needed to be made anyways. I can't just run off and ignore things if I'm the one running the crazy train.

I appreciate your apology Dream, and I forgive you for what was done. I would not have made a big deal about it if I was told via PM with some extra info. It didn't seem like we were being retired, but more like being kicked out because we have a life outside of Bear Run. I didn't have a lot of time to make loads of adopts, but I tried to make them worth waiting for. Also I have some that were waiting in my folder because I was looking for the amount of adoptable tolters to go down a little. There are so many up for adoption at any given time. I was saving them for when there was a slow time to get them back up. In my opinion, it would have been something that the community should have voted on. Honestly, here is no harm in keeping artists around even if they don't post something every day. It is not like there is a limit of artists that you can have.
So in the future, please give whomever a heads up and ask if there is any reason they are not active via PM so that they know and can respond. Then if no course of action has been chosen by the person you can let them know via PM what your final decision is and be open to discussion. If that is done, there will probably be less harsh reactions because of the notices you gave.
I hope that this situation doesn't happen again.

I wanted to let you all know that I have reported the stolen tolter to Howrse, now it is up to them to take it down. I provided a link to the Tolter and said this:

This horse belongs to an adoptable on chickensmoothie.com called Bear Run Tolters. Permission was NOT given from the artist that designed the line art, the artist that designed the coat, and the owner who adopted the Tolter. This horse is the exact horse, nothing was changed, and proves the point that it was stolen.
Thank you for reading this and I hope it can be sorted out. The Artists and the Owner are not happy about the situation.

Thanks for doing that Bunnies, hopefully howrse does something about it, I would hate to see it kept up.

I am going to have a free day when I get home from school later, so hopefully I can make my second sheepdog and maybe stream if anyone would like. I just want to try and cheer up anyone willing to be happy and enjoy our community <3 I hate seeing everyone upset, it really does hurt me. You guys mean a lot to me, and seeing everyone leaving is painful.

Bunnies you are seriously amazing though, like really <3 you've been so nice and understanding. I apologize as did dream for what happened and how we went about things. It just seemed as though you were busy with other things on CS. I hope we can still be buds c:
