Looking for Guest Artists for Black Ridge Ranch, four of which will be upgraded for permanent artists at the end of their term. Also looking for four Nursery Artists!
This is: OPEN / Closed
Accepting 3 Nursery Artists and 5 Guest Artists!
Please note that there are two different ways you may try out, or you can do both. There is a challenge you must complete if you'd like to be a nursery artist, and there are challenges you must complete to become a guest artist, who creates general adopts & may become a permanent artist at the end of their term or be called back for a second term.
General Rules:
No limit to the number of entries you can make, but they all must be under one cover.
Your horse / foal MUST have a phenotype and genotype listed. I am more than willing to help you if you don't know what those are. Please ask me if you're unsure about a genotype or a phenotype!
You must leave the "DNR" layer visible.
General Artist Application & Information
OPEN! Will close on March 10th!
Please note that if you try out for both a general artist and a nursery artist spot, you must fill out both forms.
If you are trying out to become a general artist for BRR, you must create a cover. Under your cover, you should design several realistic horses. Line edits make you stand out more and make me more willing to accept you! I will assign you ONE phenotype, and you must create a horse that represents that coat color (this allows me to asses your ability to create customs). You are free to do as many chosen designs as you'd like, but you MUST complete the coat I assign you. On each design's page, you should list their genotype and phenotype. There are helpful links on the main thread that can assist you in distinguishing what your horse's design is, genotype & phenotype-wise.
If you are accepted, I will post once more under your entry cover & add you to the main thread. At this point, you should PM me any questions you have about being an artist. Starting from when you are added to design on the main thread, you will serve two weeks as a general guest artist. This means you will create adoptable BRR horses. If I enjoy your designs, you will be added as a permanent artist.

Nursery Artist Application & Information:
Please note that if you try out for both a general artist and a nursery artist spot, you must fill out both forms, but leave out the information that is the same on the second one.
If you are trying out to become a nursery artist for BRR, you must create a cover. Under your cover, you should post your completed application. From there, you should find two images of REAL horses and combine them, putting that design on foal lines. Line edits make you stand out more and make me more willing to accept you! Also, you may "age" your foal design, so that I can see how capable of aging up a horse! On each design's page, you should list the foal's genotype and phenotype, as well as link to the two images you used. There are helpful links on the main thread that can assist you in distinguishing what your horse's design is, genotype & phenotype-wise. Nursery artists must have a strong grasp on genetics, but I am willing to teach you a bit.
If you are accepted, I will post under your entry cover & add you to the nursery thread. At this point, you should PM me any questions you have about being a nursery artist. From there, you should reserve a post on the nursery thread and put information about how to order a breeding from you. This post must include your prices, open slots, and how the customer can contact you about a breeding (via PM or by posting on a certain thread).
