Andean Caballos Peludos
These long-haired equids reside in the Andes Mountain Range in Peru and parts of Chile, their name literally meaning "Andean Hairy Horses." Their coats are long and rough, generally concentrated on the lower legs, chest, belly, and tales. Perhaps their greatest feature is they long tails - used for communication, courting, and warmth, they are a huge asset to an ACP. Other features include their oddly-shaped faces, long forelocks, lack of formal manes, and huge hooves, used for digging. ACPs love to dig for foraging, beds, or just plain fun. It is very hard to break them of this habit and for this reason they are generally kept in stalls with rubber mats. They come in just about any natural color with varying rarity.
An ACP can live to be 25-35 years old. They do exhibit some sexual dimorphism, with males being larger, furrier, and exhibiting less of a dish to their face as well as a longer tail. Foals are less furry and generally have long legs and big heads. They stand at 13-15 hands tall, with the build of Peruvian Pasos.
