Hi everyone!
Sleipnir, I love your "Cold Hands" quote: did you make that up yourself?
mary jane, the story you made out of it is sad and sweet. I don't write short stories very much: I find it harder to write those than longer books (though I often don't finish them) or poetry. I did write a short story recently: it was for a Christmas story contest of some local newspaper, about a little boy whose father has just found out that he is actually not his son, but a bastard child. The boy doesn't understand what his father means and thinks it means he is (literally) made of sugar (in the country where I live, the word "bastard" is used to describe sugar as well as bastard children).

I've been in a bit of a fix for a while about what to do with two of my roleplay characters, Kiki and Ryo Mason. They were in a roleplay on a different website, but that website shut down without any warning. Then I moved them to a roleplay on CS, but the owner quit, and I didn't think the roleplay would get anywhere the owner, who I really enjoyed roleplaying with, so I quit that roleplay and after searching for a while, found a new roleplay to put them in (on yet another website). I spent hours filling in the character forms, thinking this roleplay would be their final destination, but now no-one on the roleplay is responding to me, so I've been looking around for a new roleplay for them, but most roleplays I've found that I liked and thought were suitable for them had activity rules that were too strict for me (I don't always post every week), so I was kind of worried I wouldn't find anything, and I've made up so much about them by now that I was really itching to roleplay as them.
But just now I got a great idea: Why don't I start writing a book about Kiki and Ryo Mason? I might have thought of this before, but I didn't think it was actually a good possibility, since I didn't make up any characters to interact well with them (like love interests, friends, teachers, enemies…), but then today I realized that I don't need any of that! I have enough plot to get started, and I have two well-developped characters (or three, if I include their mother, since I made up a lot about her as well). As for the other characters: I can improvise, since I often tend to spontaneously add random new characters into my stories. I put on some music and started daydreaming, feeling inspired already. Yay ^^
