hey, guys! for the past few hours, i've been brainstorming. i have this idea that i think is pretty neat. i've written down a few points to show you all the basics of my story. do you guys like it/think it's original?

-World collapsing & billions are dying from a disease
-15-40 immune teenagers volunteered to do testing for a cure
-they live in a secluded place called The Dome
-The Dome is not as “homey” as they make it seen. (So basically, the teens were tricked into volunteering)
-Strict rules in The Dome. Anyone found breaking a rule will be persecuted or publicly flogged, depending on the severity of the rule breaking. Anyone found breaking a major rule with be incinerated immediately.
-They are tested on. Some die, some turn into hybrids or gain special powers/abilities.
-There is something the scientists are leaving out. They are hiding the fact that they aren't just trying to find the cure.
-There is no chance of escaping or seeing their friends and family again – if they’re still uninfected.

It reminds me of a story that I read once named 'The Last Wild', except the animals were the ones with the disease and the humans were in a secluded place as they feared that the disease would be passed on to them.

ah, is that a book? also, that's not my plot, c: though it is slightly similar.

anyways, i did make the thread. here's the link, for anyone who might want to check it out. c:

Hi everyone!

Sleipnir, I love your "Cold Hands" quote: did you make that up yourself?

mary jane, the story you made out of it is sad and sweet. I don't write short stories very much: I find it harder to write those than longer books (though I often don't finish them) or poetry. I did write a short story recently: it was for a Christmas story contest of some local newspaper, about a little boy whose father has just found out that he is actually not his son, but a bastard child. The boy doesn't understand what his father means and thinks it means he is (literally) made of sugar (in the country where I live, the word "bastard" is used to describe sugar as well as bastard children).

-----

I've been in a bit of a fix for a while about what to do with two of my roleplay characters, Kiki and Ryo Mason. They were in a roleplay on a different website, but that website shut down without any warning. Then I moved them to a roleplay on CS, but the owner quit, and I didn't think the roleplay would get anywhere the owner, who I really enjoyed roleplaying with, so I quit that roleplay and after searching for a while, found a new roleplay to put them in (on yet another website). I spent hours filling in the character forms, thinking this roleplay would be their final destination, but now no-one on the roleplay is responding to me, so I've been looking around for a new roleplay for them, but most roleplays I've found that I liked and thought were suitable for them had activity rules that were too strict for me (I don't always post every week), so I was kind of worried I wouldn't find anything, and I've made up so much about them by now that I was really itching to roleplay as them.

But just now I got a great idea: Why don't I start writing a book about Kiki and Ryo Mason? I might have thought of this before, but I didn't think it was actually a good possibility, since I didn't make up any characters to interact well with them (like love interests, friends, teachers, enemies…), but then today I realized that I don't need any of that! I have enough plot to get started, and I have two well-developped characters (or three, if I include their mother, since I made up a lot about her as well). As for the other characters: I can improvise, since I often tend to spontaneously add random new characters into my stories. I put on some music and started daydreaming, feeling inspired already. Yay ^^

okay, going to try it out c:

her eyes blazed like lasers in the moonlight of the moon, and she stared down at the moar land. her face was illuminating the lit of the moon, giving it an errie glow. her wings were spread wide, and she glidded gracefully down to the land. she suddenly saw a journal laying open on the ground, as if inviting her to read it (or write in it of coruse). she picked up a pencil and began writing. "OMG! guess what diary? my wing got torn!" she wrote, adding a sad face. she started to sob, but then a unicorn appeared. "DO YOU WANT TO GO TO CANDY LAND?" "YEA!" she answered, getting up and following the unicorn into a magical land. she live happily ever after, the end.

This was so random, and a complete faliure compared to what I usually write o3o but it got rid of wb!
