The figure's name:
"My fullname is Prince Ignatius Larkin Ero of Seneca. It means 'fiery, fierce eternal ruler of the people of the standing rock' if you translated it literally. Although, I find being called Ignatius rather... formal, so I would pefer to be called Iggy. Or Price Iggy if you want to stick to royal formalities."
What is it's quest?:
"My quest was to find The Lost Temple of Poseidon, retrieve the trident, and sacrifice it to Athena by throwing it into the center hearth in Seneca. Therefore, ending the curse that currently holds on to my kingdom."
Why does it have this quest?:
"Once upon a time, there was a king. He ruled over the almighty kingdom of Seneca. The kingdom prospered during his rule, and grew rich off there abundant sources of metals and stone. Seneca – by the way – means ‘people of the standing rock’. Anyway, despite the all the prosperity in his kingdom, the king was unhappy. For when the kingdom suddenly started to flourish, his beloved wife had passed away, along with their unborn child. That left the kingdom not only without a queen, but also without an heir to the Senecan throne.
So one day, the king went on his usual nightly stroll through this castle just reflecting on his royal duties that day he bumped into someone. It was a woman. She was beautiful. Her hair as silky and straight as the thread. She had fair olive skin and startling grey eyes. Some would say that she looked like a goddess, for she was just that. That woman was Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom herself.
The king soon found himself infatuated with the woman. To him, it was ‘love that first sight’. Athena told him that, she could give him an heir to the throne. So – of course – the king made a deal with the goddess Athena, but there was a catch. When the child reached the age of twelve, he had to go on a quest to steal Poseidon's Trident from his lost temple and sacrifice it to Athena. If he should fail to do so by his sixteenth birthday, everyone in the kingdom would be turned to stone and the kingdom of Seneca with crumble and no longer exist to the rest of the world. The curse will only be lifted if the heir completed this impossible quest. The credulous king accepted the offer, believing that any son of his could complete such a simple sounding quest… Boy was he wrong.
Well, that heir… was me. I have been searching for over a hundred years for this trident and still have not found it… All I know is that I cannot go anywhere without being at least a foot away from a rock of some kind and that the temple is underwater. I do not know if I can go on with my quest alone... Maybe it was fate that brought you here... If so, will you help me?"
(Just to make sure you read the passage) For how long are the souls tied to mortal objects?:
I believe that they are tied to mortal objects until their quest is complete.
