Octo- I've dropped my form for F29. I'm out of ideas for that one.I am looking to adopt...
Kennel number:F35
Name:Subject 346Breed:Buffa-leopard viper
(same, I'm just messing with the combo's name)Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?: I want him because he's absolutely perfect for a budding idea of mine. My mind exploded with ideas when I saw him, but one really stuck with me- and that is what is developing in the rest of the form. He will have his own storyline in a completely new universe- he will not suffer Shiva and V'Arikor, but will instead carve a path through a new world. He will be written, drawn, and taken care of just as I do all of my other characters. I'm not going to let him down- he deserves nothing but the best.[Logbook transmission uploading... complete.]Personality:Logbook 23.ABlank. Subject 346 has shown an eternal stoic state of mind. He neither reacts to nor seems to anticipate the researchers' movements and actions. The only emotion detected has been anger, which could only be found using internal monitors.
Unbreakable. After numerous tests, researchers have failed to break 346's mask. It has been determined that he would be a danger upon release to the public. Lifetime isolation recommended; permission given to destroy if barrier compromised.
Clever. Simple puzzles given to 346 have been returned solved; researchers are unclear as to why or how. Rumors are starting to spread around the observation rooms that 346 has powers unimaginable to his creators; these are believed inaccurate by those who do not believe in such things.
Violent. Subject 346 has shown increasing hostility toward the researching team. It is thought that, given the chance, he will kill. Orders have been sent to blunt his horns; they have been unanswered so far. Concerns are rising about the welfare of the maintenance and care team.
Stealthy. Upon returning after lunch, research team found Subject 346's pen empty. May God help us all.Likes:Logbook 23.BSneak attacks. Subject 346, as a calf, was noted for his playfulness. In particular, he favored a sneak attack, pouncing his "victim" and chewing on their hair or clothing. Three men's lives were lost after he grew too large and heavy for such actions, and the games ceased.
Meat. Though his teeth were intended for vegetation, 346 has shown preference toward meat. In particular, he seems to like the flesh of the thin and sickly... observations pending as to why.
Extreme cold. 346 has suffered heat stroke multiple times, nearly dying. Though the actions and precautions needed are routine now, plans have been laid out to move him to the Arctic station.
Status: In progress. Complete. Subject shows better health than ever.
Puzzles. Subject 346 has been given several toys to play with, but he prefers a simple wooden block puzzle. Hypothesis: more puzzles will build his brain; he could be sold to the government as a weapon. Requests have been sent out for more puzzle of varying difficulties.
Status update: Hypothesis proven correct.
Freedom. Subject has been observed standing on the highest point in his run, nose held high in the air. Hypothesis: Fresh air pleases him.Dislikes: Logbook 23.CHeat. Regular internal body temperature: 43C [110F]. Studies show that 346 is unable to handle warm or temperate climates without suffering from the heat. Preventative action has been taken to prevent complications, which may induce more violence in the creature.
Sand. In an effort to provide terrestrial variety, subject has been placed in a variety of temperature-controlled environments with different settings. After being placed on sand, subject bucked wildly, rattling his tail, then reared and rammed into the walls in an effort to get out. Damage: irreparable. Never attempt again.
Boredom. Experiment 873A: Removal of Entertainment resulted in absolute failure. Subject nearly destroyed himself in a fit of frustration. Never attempt again.
Confinement. Subject's internal monitors show symptoms of distress when confined to the medical pen. Has been noted to damage the cage in an attempt to escape. History/Background: Logbook 22.NSubject 345 killed a researcher last night when being fed. He then fled through the door of his pen, killing three more people and injuring five. 345 has since been exterminated and the remains are being destroyed. New subject is in the process of being made; genetics show this will be the largest and strongest yet. Hopes are that it will be more complacent than 345.Logbook 23Subject 346 has not expressed an emotion since birth. Defect possible; will research more later. In the meantime, tests are being developed to test physical attributes and to attempt to pull a reaction out of this creature. Precautions are being taken; no researcher is allowed in his pen without heavy armor. They are otherwise restricted to the observation room, which is built around 346's pen. Subject is not to be touched unless in a medical emergency. We will not make the same mistake.Logbook 23.DSubject has been moved to north of the Arctic circle for health reasons; see Logbook 23.B and C. Improvement made; shows no sign of aggression. He has passed his health examination and received first of the treatment injections. Signs of treatment already apparent; Subject has grown several centimeters in two nights alone, and horns are much, much harder than usual. Injection series is clear to continue. Logbook 23.FSubject has been enduring treatment well. Size has increased by over a third. Researchers are no longer allowed in pen; 346's weight and strength have increased too much, and lives have already been lost. Complete isolation enforced now; his only companions are the live animals sent in in order for him to hunt. Poison glands could use some potency; treatment pending. We're making the perfect weapon... if only we can learn how to use it.Logbook 23.PSubject has not moved for three days. He stares at one of the empty walls, breathing steadily. Monitors indicate no fluctuation in circulation; 346 is not angry or distressed. Logbook 23.K indicates the introduction of simple puzzles; He was showing interest, solving then with little to no problem, until this. Hypothesis: either the experiment has failed, or we are dealing with intellect unmatched and undocumented.Logbook 23.SSubject has gone missing. Pen barriers compromised. God, save-[End of Logbook transmission]
[Brain Process Monitor Sequence: Uploading... complete.]Freedom. What was this? I had charged out of my prison- my home- and murdered my overseers- my parents- to find myself somewhere I didn't belong. White... everywhere. Void... like me. Who am I? What am I? Where do I go?
It's been said that all creatures ask these questions. I am no different, in that sense. But I am strong... my parents made me so. They created me... and so I destroyed them. I found it fitting, in a primal way. I hated them; I had been alone for so long... devoid of basic wants. I just wanted to be loved... I wanted contact. But instead, I was tossed around. Let's see what this will make him do. Oh, he doesn't like that. Let's try it again. Did they love me? No... so I could not love them.
I wandered. I know exactly how long my hooves tread the ground, but it's not important. Measurement of time is irrelevant. I found myself in a warmer area... where was I? There was grass here... along with several small creatures that I hunted. I found that hooves are not the best at killing; I was nearly taken down by a large animal with long claws and teeth*. But I... I am a weapon.
Weapons never die.
I had grown twice my original size when I met the last of my captors. He respected me. Bowed... backed away. I considered taking him as an easy meal, but he could be useful... he has thumbs. Hands. He can do things that I cannot. And so, I used him, as he used me. He became my toy and servant as I bent his will. Changed him.[Database error: Companionship has corrupted signal. Transmission continued. Resuming at uncorrupted signal. Timestamp: over a thousand days; Refresh? Y N]I am a hero. But, at the same time, I am the legend that is told to scare young children back into their nests. I am the hero... and the villain. I am perfectly corrupted. I send a warning to those that oppose me: beware of my shadow.
Beware of Death.[Transmission corrupted. End transmission.]
[* Database conclusion: Subject has encountered a puma.] Art: WIP
Other: Most of my form is meant to look like a data transmission of a logbook made by scientists that created and studied Subject 346, so it's quite impersonal. He has no family, but I'm including how he feels about his overseers/"parents" (read: researchers) later on in the form, during a reflection.
The "logbook transmission" parts- the green bits that are seemingly incongruent to the rest of the form- are corruptions in the data, because we all know technology likes to screw things up. xDD It's meant to be somewhat separate, but still included; it gives the setting of the form itself and a little bit of the timeframe in the skip.
