skulldogs (v2) - I LIVE I DIE I LIVE AGAIN (rule change)

Skulldogs are...
Well, they're something. Contrary to the name, their skulls don't appear canine at all... First discovered around Halloween, their eerie skulls and pointed tails give them a frightening appearance. Despite this, they're generally quite friendly! They're candyvores, meaning that they live off of sugary candies and desserts. Many of them have personalities just as sweet as the candies they love to eat, so take a look beyond their spooky appearances and give them some love!

Rules

-As of 9/1/2015, there is a limit of five skulldogs per person
-This is a closed species- please don't make your own!
-Take them offsite if you like, but please link back here!
-If you no longer want your skulldog, please PM me.
-You cannot trade/sell your skulldog.
-You may add accessories, but not hair/major fur changes. If you're unsure about what's okay, please PM me.

Aging

-Skulldogs can be aged to their next stage after 1 month
-They cannot be aged directly from child to adult
-When aging, the design should stay the same throughout all stages

What exactly do they eat?
  • Skulldogs are candyvores, although the term is actually quite misleading. It's true that they often eat candy, but what they really need is the sugar. As such, many skulldogs prefer cakes, pies, or other sugary foods. Sodas are also very popular, but the carbonation can lead to health problems, so it's best to enjoy it in moderation.

Health concerns?
  • Skulldogs who drink too much soda as a puppy tend to have stunted growth. This is called osteo-stamata, or OS. Skulldogs afflicted with OS retain the appearance of youth for the rest of their lives. No need to worry about a pup randomly contracting this; it only happens when they drink a bit too much pop!
  • The tails are not made entirely of bone, despite sharing most of their color with the skull. They are very flexible, and have a rubbery texture. The skin does not tear easily, but when it does, it can take a long time to heal.

Design quirks?
  • It's very unusual for a skulldog to not have markings on their feet, but certainly not impossible. Even more unusual are the presence of markings on the skull itself, though this is also not impossible.
  • They can have anywhere from 2-5 colors on their body.

  • Striped Candy is very special. When a skulldog eats a piece of this hard-to-find treat, they develop colorful markings along their skull, and can even pass this trait down to offspring. These are given out as prizes for events.

  • Sugar Cubes are another special item. When you feed these to a pair of skulldogs, their next breeding is guaranteed to produce twins. Another possible event prize.

  • A Magic Lolly will enable a pair that has already bred 4 times to breed again. Another event prize.

  • Pop Soda is available at all times, and can be given to a baby or teen skulldog to freeze them at their current stage. This cannot be reversed easily, so be sure it's something you absolutely want to do before you do it!
