Plum's eyes flew open. It was new years eve! She was celebrating with only Daisy her bunny companion this year, but she was still planning a party. She would have a lot of preparing to do.

After cleaning her entire house, setting up decorations, and cooking dinner, Plum was exhausted. She sat at her perfectly set table and had a feast with Daisy. When they were finished, Plum decided to take a nap. Surely she would be up in time to see the ball drop.

She had been asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow, and she slept for almost three hours. It was two minutes until new years. She was going to miss it! She scrambled out of bed and turned the tv on. “...3! 2! 1!”

The ball fell, and Plum squealed with delight. “HAPPY NEW YEARS!” she shouted at nobody in particular. She raced outside to watch the fireworks. The sky was exploding with color and loud bangs could be heard from all around. Plum could tell it was going to be a great year.
