I'd love to take a part in the roleplay. I have my boy Korbera, who needs development. I'm interested in seeing how it goes.

Is there a Pallio mascot? If not, you should make one.

Another question: Do you own a Pallio? Like have you made a pallio just for you?

I've been meaning to make a mascot, but never really got around to it. I'm considering making the very first pallio the mascot, which would be this one. Just gotta redraw them to match current pallio anatomy.

And yes, I do have a pallio. He's the one in my signature actually! His name is Sigma, but I call him Sig. I should really draw him more.

I have some questions about pallio capes. Trying to understand how they work. Do they always lie along their backs or do they sort of follow gravity? If a pallio were upside down, would the cape hang? Or if a pallio were to lie on its back, would the cape be somewhat "smothered" (similar to wearing a scarf) or just underneath it?

Good questions!

I suck at explanations so I drew a thing:

So yeah, it pretty much follows gravity when hanging. I like to think that a pallio would wrap their neck before hiding or sneaking up on someone, because the cape will give off their position. Pallio capes are similar to an actual cape.

As for laying, it does get smooshed, to an extent. The gills on the back would be blocked when laying, so the cape wouldn't be coming out. The gills also wrap around the neck a bit though, so the ones that are more on the side of the neck wouldn't be blocked, so it would be flowing out like normal.

Here's another drawing:

Hope that explains it! And feel free to ask any more questions if you got any, it really helps me develop this species.

Would it be possible for a Pallio to 'grab' their cape, or wrap the cape itself around their neck? Does it bear more semblance to a solid, a liquid or a gas?

The capes have gas like qualities, but they're not a gas exactly. No one in the pallio world knows what they are actually, just that it's a misty looking thing that comes out of a pallio and looks like a cape.

As it is gas like, it's intangible. So no, it's not possible to grab it at all. It can, however, be contained within jars and such.

What would happen to a Pallio's cape if it was underwater?
Random question, but I'm curious. Would it bubble around like other gasses? Or would it stop flowing or something?

Man, I remember when I first made pallios I thought about this. I can't remember what conclusion I came to though.

Hmm, okay I know for sure that water won't go inside the gills. The cape gas thing blocks out water, so pallios don't need to worry about that.

I guess the cape would sorta bubble?:

It definitely won't flow normally, it'd go all over the place, sorta like an actual cape underwater.
