I'll get Kennel 30 out of the way first. This kennel was one that I abstained from voting on, knowing that I would have a bias towards one of the users trying out for it, and thus couldn't vote fairly. I asked my judges to duke it out, and each one voted for a different user, thus tying the votes. I then reached out to my dear friend Eeveeprincess01, who cast the deciding vote (don't hate on her if you're unhappy - she judged just fairly and only did so because she knows me and knew I needed help with this).

Asterous / Kennel 30 VS. Petz12 / Kennel 30
My vote is with Asterous' form. This is because I feel a deeper connection has been made between them, and deeper thought when developing him too. The history was more interesting and more.thorough in my opinion, and I like that Asterous took a more realistic approach with him!

This form is incredibly detailed of something many people fail on - the history and personality of a pet. The rest of the form is slightly bland, and could do with some extras/colour to really make it look great. However, a lot of effort has been put in.

For the final one, I recon we let Asterous have the other character he tried out for and let Petz12 have Kestrel. I have no other way of deciding this one, so I just went with what seemed fair - they both get a pet using this process. Sorry I couldn't be more help on this one.

hhh judging isn't my strong point

I'd have to go with the second. It wasn't as pretty as the other, but I'm very picky with what I read, and tend to just skim what I don't like. I found myself doing that with the first, but wanted to read the second fully. I liked the writing of the second better.
I'm not sure what the thing you had to have strongest was for this contest but ovo

To those who didn't won the character they've applied for, feel free to PM me to ask me why.
Most forms booklover and I turned down were not finished or too short. Remember to read the tips and tricks, it is very helpfull to increase your chance to win the character! It's not the prettiest form that wins, but the one that's written the best or shows the most effort. You can have a free character, but you just need to work harder on your form to get it.

What Sabje stated at the last round's code drop is true today, as well. Nearly all of you who didn't win characters had either unfinished forms or forms that were far too short. I agree that it's not the prettiest form that wins, but the form that has the most effort and work put into it. While coding is very nice, I put more stock in what is actually in the form than what it looks like. And, as Sabje stated, you can have as many free characters as you want - but you can't get something for nothing.
If you didn't win a character this round and would like to know why, feel free to PM me - NOT Sabje, as she's terribly busy - about it, and I'll answer as soon as I can.

And round 9 is officially open! I added all of the new characters to the kennels, and because of the popular voting on the poll, almost all of the characters added are Christmas-themed or have Christmas-like-color-palettes. I'll also be increasing the number of pets one can adopt from 3 to 4 for this round in the spirit of Christmas.
