Why do you want this character?: I really like the design. Scrolling through all the different characters I was thinking if I could have one which would I draw the most and I had to stop when I came across this one, the design is fairly simple and there is so much I could do with her. She looks similar to one of my own older characters and I knew I had to at least try for her. I can't help but see a possible relation to my character and having her be a long lost daughter of my Falcon would be so awesome.
Where will you use it, and what will you use it for?: I have a Deviantart account which I don't really use but I imagine I'll put drawings of her on there. I also have a document folder where I store drawings I've done of my characters on loose paper and several sketchbooks still waiting to be filled. Most if not all art done of her will be outside CS unfortunately as my laptop has been having issues with Java and I haven't been able to use the Oekaki. She will only be used for my own stories and would be a huge spark of inspiration, I already have so many ideas for adventures she could go on and the father daughter relationship between her and Falcon would make for a good change of pace in my drawings.
Character informationName: Kestrel
Gender: Female
Personality: Kestrel is a wild child for sure, she is adventurous with a love to explore and get into things. She can a bit mischievous when she gets bored and will go looking for trouble too see what she can get away with. Curious, intelligent, and eager to learn Kestrel is quick to figure things out and doesn't get distracted easily when shes focused. She loves to take things apart and see how they work, though she isn't as good at putting things back together again. Creative she is always thinking outside the box and prefers to try new ways of doing things over doing them the conventional way. She can be a bit of a daydreamer, appearing to most onlookers to always have her head in the clouds and be lost in some fantasy. Kestrel won't deny she can spend a long time daydreaming but a lot of her best ideas come to her in her dreams. However a lot of those ideas aren't particularly good ones. She can be a bit impulsive and being a daring thrill seeker Kestrel doesn't always make the best choices, often ending up getting herself into deep trouble. She is so bold its almost a rather serious problem. Kestrel is confident, very competitive, and especially hates to lose, she doesn't back down from challenges no matter how high the odds are stacked against her and will fight to the bitter end to win. She believes she can do almost anything she puts her mind too and is very proud of her self-confidence as well as her athleticism. Kestrel is very athletic, she pushes herself hard and sometimes beyond her own limits. She is tough and very stubborn, she doesn't allow puny things like limits to stop her and will never admit defeat.
While she is tough, bold, and arrogant at the first glance of any onlooker Kestrel isn't only these things. Underneath her "tough guy" exterior Kestrel is very sympathetic and kind at heart, she hates to see others in pain or suffering and will sometimes go far out of her way to help someone in need. She often puts the needs of others above her own. Resourceful, reliable and incredibly loyal Kestrel would never let her friends or loved ones down, she rarely if ever breaks a promise and loves to prove those who think she can't do something wrong.
Kestrel is very adaptable, she loves to go new places and has an easy time handling change. She is a nature lover and very outdoorsy, she hates to be locked up inside when theres a whole world outside she could be exploring. Kestrel is a very outgoing and active canine, shes always looking to have fun and hates having to sit still for long periods of time. She is very observant when she wants to be and can be easily distracted if shes not interested in whats happening or what she is doing. Kestrel can be a little forgetful at times, shes got so much thinking and dreaming to do she sometimes loses track of what she should be thinking about. She tends to lose things because of this, often forgetting where she left things and some of the tasks she has to do. She isn't very willing to ask for help if she finds she has forgotten or lost something though, Kestrel likes to do things and figure out solutions to a problem on her own. If she needs help she often keeps it to herself and is prone to stressing herself out trying to do everything by herself. Until someone either notices she needs help or she eventually figures out she can't do something alone she will try and try again to do it on her own.
History:Kestrel grew up listening to stories about her father, she never got to met him as he lived in the woods outside the house she'd been born in. A small family owned the dogs and took very good care of them until they were old enough to leave their mother. They sold all but one puppy and that puppy was Kestrel. She never really liked the humans, she hated their rules and restrictions. She longed to be free like her father and dreamed of one day running away to live in the forest where no one could tell what to do or where to go.
That day eventually came and Kestrel escaped into the wilderness outside the gate. Once out she didn't look back and ran deep into the woods eventually getting herself lost. She didn't mind much since she hadn't planned on going back and wandered alone for a few weeks, teaching herself how to survive by on her own. Eventually Kestrel ran into another dog; an odd canine with long thick stems of an unknown type of rush braided loosely around his neck, with a primary flight feather from a small bird stuck into the braid, and a couple other feathers sitting tucked behind his ear. After several rather long minutes the two came to realize who the other was, Kestrel found her father and Falcon found he had a daughter he hadn't known about. Not long after this realization Falcon insisted on taking her back to her mother, Kestrel wasn't happy about it but eventually allowed him to show her the way home. During their journey the two learned they had a lot in common and started to become close. The journey only lasted a few days and eventually they reached their destination, finding Kestrel's mother staring off into the forest from her spot on the back porch.
It was a happy reunion and when it came time for Falcon to return to the wild Kestrel's mother offered the surprising suggestion that Kestrel should go with him. She'd seen how unhappy she was with the humans and thought perhaps it would be good for both of them. Falcon agreed to take her and after saying goodbye Kestrel followed him back into the forest where shes been with him since.
Likes:Exploring and learning about new things, going on adventures, listening to stories especially ones about mysteries and wild adventures, making others smile, being in an open place (such as a field or on top of a mountain) where she can feel the wind in her fur, the sound of rushing water, hiking, being outside in general, birds, snakes, being free and being with her father to name a few.
Dislikes:Fences, leashes, humans, spiders, most insects, heavy rain, lightening, having to sit still for long periods of time, being trapped, being wrong, bridges, and seeing others suffer are a few things she doesn't enjoy.
