Username:Captain Cuttlefish here!
Name:Scylla Celestine is her full name. She refers to herself as simply Scylla.
Meaning:Scylla has no known parents, so she had to come up with her own name. It was a hard task, but she eventually pulled it off.
Her first name she got from a group of sailors that were passing through the waters above her reef home long, long ago. She poked her head out of the water to see what they were up to. A sailor on one side saw her and screamed, "A sea monster! A sea monster!" Scylla dove underwater and swam to another side of the boat. Another sailor saw her and screamed the same thing. She swam to the back of the boat, hoping she wouldn't get screamed at again, but a sailor saw her and screamed the same things. The sailors all claimed to see a different canine creature, and thus thought she was Scylla, though they were nowhere near Charybdis. They ran around their ship screaming, "It's Scylla! Turn around before we're killed!" and fled in the opposite direction, sailing off toward the horizon. The young Kida knew they were referring to her as Scylla, and she began referring to herself as Scylla for the rest of her life.
She got her second name, Celestine, in a much different way years later. Scylla loves to listen to others talk up on the shores and see what they're doing, but she never talks to them. Once, she saw someone with an absolutely beautiful, smooth rock. It had a wonderful, light blue color to it, and Scylla absolutely loved the sight of it. She heard the owner say it was called Celestine, and that it was a rare mineral, and they also said it would bring luck to them if they threw it into the ocean... So they did. They threw out the pretty rock, and it sunk down to the ocean floor. Scylla tried to go get it, but it sunk too fast. She decided to remember the pretty mineral by making the name, Celestine, her second name.
Nicknames:Since Scylla doesn't talk to other Kidas, she has no nicknames as of right now. Perhaps if she ever gathers the courage to speak to someone, then maybe she'll get one.
Gender:Scylla is a female, plain and simple.
Age:Scylla is an adult, but her exact age is unknown. She was born when the first bit of coral in her reef home came into existence, and she herself was formed from the life forces of all the animals that reside in her habitat. As long as they're alive, she's alive. She has been living under the surface of the ocean four ages, and no others have gotten a good look at her, so no-one knows her age for sure.

Her home:Scylla resides in a beautiful coral reef hidden below the water's surface at a beach. No-one is allowed to swim in the deeper areas of the water, since everyone is aware of the reef, so she's very rarely bothered, but plenty of other Kidas can be found at the beach, walking along the sand or just lazing around. Scylla occasionally surfaces, but she is always very stealthy, and does her best to make sure no-one sees her. She lives in an elaborate coral cave near the lowest point in the reef, and several other sea creatures live in her cave with her. She loves the fish, and can hear them speaking, so she doesn't mind them being there at all. They keep her company, and she talks with them often.
Relationship with other kidamburas:Scylla is terribly afraid of other Kidas. She is very curious about them, but is too afraid to speak to them. She often listens to them speak and watched them do their normal things up on the beach, but she's always sure she isn't seen. A few of the Kidas have gotten slight glances of her, but she's vanished below the surface before they could see her well, so she's essentially become an ocean-born Loch Ness Monster. Scylla sometimes thinks about speaking to the Kidas on the beach, but has never in her life actually gathered the courage to do so.

Personality:In simple terms, Scylla is very, very shy. She does not trust any land-dwellers, and is only friendly towards those wonderful creatures that live underwater. Anything else? She'll just swim away. To her fishy friends she's very kind and considerate , and that is probably how she'd react to a friend on land if she ever made one, but she avoids them whenever possible, so that likely won't happen for a long time.
Physique:Scylla is very slender, and seems rather lanky. Even when underwater, her legs seem awkwardly long, and her body seems awkwardly thin and flexible. Like her body seems, Scylla is incredibly flexible, and she can bend in very strange ways. Due to her strange body structure, she looks very unusual when moving, even when swimming. Sure, she had the ability to swim fast, but it just looks really weird. Like a weasel on stilts trying to swim... But a
fast weasel on stilts trying to swim.
Favorites:Well, Scylla's got a few. Her favorite pastime is talking to her fishy friends, and she does it all the time. Her favorite food is that weird stuff the land-dwellers eat... Popcorn. That's what it's called. Sometimes they walk away from the beach but leave their popcorn... Then it's fair game. Scylla's favorite color is white, but she also likes baby blue. Her favorite animal is a sea lion, though she's only seen them once as a young pup. She longs to see some sea lions again. And lastly, her favorite time of day is very early morning, when no-one is quite at the beach yet. She can frolic around freely at this time with no fear of being seen.
What do they collect?:Scylla collects anything from above land that the Kidas above drop on the beach. She's only just started this collection, as a few weeks past she stumbled upon a pretty painted bottle on the beach when she was creeping around one very early winter morning. Thinking it was too pretty to leave alone, Scylla took it and kept it in her den under the water. Since that day, she's searched for other items that have been left in the sand, going out every morning before the beach opens to go and gather stuff.
What has she collected so far?
Since her collection is relatively new, Scylla doesn't have an extensive amount of stuff. So far she's collected the following:
- That pretty, painted bottle I described in the previous section
- A small plastic shovel that a child had used as a beach toy; It's sky blue and Scylla couldn't resist
- A fishing pole that had been yanked into the ocean when it caught onto Scylla (you'll hear more about this later!)
- A small metal cross that was left on the beach for whatever reason; Scylla thinks it's valuable, but it's all rusty now
- Someone's white flip phone; Whoever left it has no hope of finding it now
- A seriously colorful umbrella that was (somehow) left behind; Scylla had some trouble getting this one underwater

What's with the starfish? That starfish there is Scylla's best fishy friend. He is always on her face, but he can be seen on either side. She dolls him Quinque, referring to his five arms, but calls him Quin for short. Scylla saved the starfish from a scary fish that was trying to eat him, and has kept him safe on her face since then. She likes to hold him in her paws, and is always sure to be extremely careful with him.
What's with that necklace? As stated earlier, Scylla has a very nice fishing pole in her collection. She obtained this in a rather unique way, very different from most of her other items.
One day, while Scylla was swimming a little close to shore, something got tangled around her neck. Shocked and surprised, she began to thrash about, trying to break free of whatever it was. It was an odd, plastic string of some sort, and there was a hook at the end of it attached to some odd floating object. After just a few moments of thrashing, something tugged on the string- Hard. Scylla was startled and hurt by this tug, so she thrashed even harder and eventually felt the tightness around the string loosen.
Feeling free finally, she began to swim off. However, about halfway to her home, she noticed an odd, long wooden pole-like object attached to a far end of the string. Scylla was curious about this pole, and swam a little closer to it. She wanted to get the pole separate from the string, as she figured it was something else like the elaborate bottle she had found earlier on the beach.
Getting an idea, the excited Kida swam down to some specific coral and poked her nose in, calling for an old friend. Sleepily, a moray eel stuck his head out from between two coral pieces and gave her a pathetic look. She asked him if he could bite the string apart, and he agreed to do so. He snapped and chewed at the string, right where it had been tangled around Scylla's neck.
The pole was free! Intrigued by the odd device, she kept it as a trinket in her collection of land-stuff, and swam about with the rest of the line tangled around her neck. Scylla soon grew used to the string around her neck, and it one day snagged a clam onto it. The clam, still alive, has also become her friend. She calls the clam Sally, or Sal for short.
