Tayhn Horse

Found primarily high up in the mountains and deep in the forest, these strange creatures had eluded discovery until recently. With their discovery brought confusion to people as these horses shared traits with multiple separate species. Such as horses, canines and felines. Built strong and sturdy, Tayhn Horses quickly became a loved species to have on farms, fulfilling the work done by work horses or steer. They are also quite popular in the show world due to their largely varied coat patterns and colours as well as the different tail types these strange creatures sport.

Species Information

Tayhn Horses are extremely intelligent and social creatures. They are hardly found alone, often roaming their territory in groups of two or even herds larger than 10.
In groups larger than two, they display a hierarchy consisting of several roles such as lead stallion, lead mare, care taker and many more.
Tayhn's are extremely respectful of one another's space and body. Rarely does one display aggression towards another outside of tiny spats or during mating season.
Thier diet strictly consists of plants and insects. Ingesting any other kind of food will result in severe illness and the sudden death of a Tayhn. Their digestive system is not equipped to handle or breakdown materials outside of their diet. They lack the ability to throw up, meaning the toxic substance is stuck in their system unless humans intervene.
The large pair of pointed teeth they sport serves as an intimidation device as well as something they show off to impress others.
Tayhn a can produce a wide variety of sounds from barking and rumbling purrs to growls and soft chirp like meows. They are unable to produce any sounds similar to a horse.
All Tayhn's have natural colour coats. Its more common for them to sport coats similar to horses but have been found with coats mimicking canines and felines.
They are also always found to have streaks of colour in their manes and/or tails, these colours range anywhere from red to purple and every colour inbetween. Its been observed that new colours can be produced through breeding. Such as a stally with a blue streaked mane, when bred with a red streaked mare has the small possibility to have a foal with purple streaks.
So far only 3 types of tails have been found in this species. They have been dubbed: Long, curled or bobbed. Each of one rarer to find then the next. The most common, long, is pictured below.
