I don't know if anyone has noticed but #87's picture has been removed, should it be allowed to stay up there? o_O
Pet's ID Tag: #74
Name You'd Choose for It: Samson [Sam for short]
Gender: Male
Reason You Want It: I've noticed this one has been here awhile, I didn't really feel all too up for adopting it before but after the revamp I can honestly say I
love his design. It's much easier to make the choice to adopt (at least for me) when I can see all the markings, and no guessing games because they were originally in a sitting position. I would like to adopt him because to be honest I only have one male wolf character, which is pitiful for a pack. I'm so used to having lion characters that the one male and a ton of females thing didn't phase me but wolves are not that way. I'd like to even out the gender and give him a home all in one run. :3
Personality: Samson is very much a flirty, ambisous, show off-y guy. He likes the attention of those around him and will do [often stupid] stunts to achieve praise, whether it be hunting for a certain pack mate or doing random tricks to entertain his friends. He is very social and would not to very well on his own if that were to happen, he needs others to talk to and he craves a connection to those around him. Despite his cool and often badass persona he is very sensitive to those around him and he doesn't like to upset anyone even when they piss him off, he just does what he has to, to save his image in front of others.
Samson loves puppies and children, he just loves kids, the energy they have and their naturally carefree playful nature. Tendara often remarks it's because he's such a big puppy himself that he can get along with them so well. He always disagrees huffily but her remarks won't stop him from being just as much a puppy with other kids as they themselves are.
He has been with Tendara for most of his adult life but they are not solid set mates, nor have they ever thought they might be someday. Samson often spends his time with other female anthro's when they go into towns together, mostly just sharing drinks and flirting, he's too shy to go further. He may not be a prude but he often shakes his head disapprovingly at Tendara's habits to slip off with strangers all the time.
History/Background: When it comes to Samson their is not much to tell. He did not have a very eventful childhood, it was normal, well as normal as it can be for an anthropomorphic pup. His parents had been slaves previous to his birth and had worked long and hard to be free so that their unborn son would not have to live like they did. By the time he was born both his parents had worked up enough money to buy their freedom.
Samson was raised in the forest, his parents had found a small clearing in the woods and built a hut, he called that place home until he was 16 years old. At that time a traveler stopped at his home and asked for food and lodging in exchange for the fur she could supply them for trade if they did, she was a quick hunter and could prove her worth to them over time. His parents accepted and that was when Samson met
Tendara.
The other anthro was so different to anyone Samson had ever met before and he would never admit it now but back then he had a terrible crush on her, he didn't have to know her well it was simply how beautiful she was. She was older than him at the time, at least by 5 years and that probably added to his liking of her. Tendara didn't mind his attention and blatant ogling, if the parents were not always around she might have shown him a good time, he was young and handsome, full of life and he seemed to love everything about it as much as she did. That is probably what drove Tendara to ask him if he was happy living in the woods alone with only his parents for company., didn't he want to see the world? Meet other people and even find a mate? She told off offhandedly remarked her would be weird if he said no.
To be honest Samson had never thought about leaving his parents before, it just never occurred to him that he could do such a thing. But the more he thought on her question the more he began to question himself, did he want to leave? He had always wanted to see the world, but in his mind his parents would be with him when he did... he still had the child's mentality that mother and father would always be there.
Samson finally asked his parent's opinion on the matter, would he be weird if he didn't leave them? In anger at the ideas that this stranger had planted in his head about leaving while he was still so young they told Tendara she was no longer welcome at their home. She pleaded that she had not meant any harm in the question, she had nowhere else to go if they kicked her out. It was only when Samson's father went to physically throw her out of the hut despite her words that Samson himself jumped between his parents and her. He told his parents with tears in his eyes that he was leaving with Tendara, he wasn't a puppy anymore and he wanted to go places while he was young, not stay cooped up in a hut reading the same books over and over again.
Instead of holding him back or forcing him to stay his father merely asked him if this was really what he wanted, all he had to reply with was yes... instead his answer was, "I don't know. But if I don't take my chance now who knows when I will have the courage to do it again?"
Though his mother didn't agree they let Samson go with Tendara, giving them money and food for the road, it was a very tear filled goodbye for the son and his parents. For many weeks in the beginning of their travels Samson would often cry at night, he wasn't going to lie, he missed his parents... so much that it was painful and he almost wanted to run back to them, give up adventure for the comfort of home. But he couldn't, his stubbornness and pride wouldn't let him. Tendara always felt bad, he was still such a puppy, it wasn't long before she would hold him while they slept just to let him know someone else was there. It helped and slowly he stopped his crying in the night and she didn't need to even hold onto him after a few months. For both of them is was like a sibling they hadn't had before, they were their own family now and that was enough for Sam.
Tendara and Samson traveled together for just shy of 9 years before they found themselves in trouble, a local trader didn't believe them when they said they were free beasts and tried to capture them. They fled into the forest and oddly enough the trader and his hired men wouldn't follow them, thinking they were safer in the woods they went deeper and made camp under a large willow tree near a small river. It wasn't until they woke the next morning to find themselves surrounded that they understood why the men had not followed them, there was a pack of anthros already living in these woods.
Instead of hostility however the two were welcomed with open arms, especially Samson. Turned out that the pack had recently lost many of their males in a war with a neighboring tribe over hunting rights. Not surprisingly Samson had no problem with this arrangement and the two were accepted and made members of the tribe.
Other:He doesn't like to hunt on all fours like most anthros do, he instead prefers to use a crossbow, or recurve bow.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it. Holy fudge-sticks, I was going to add in dialogue and make it like an actual story but I don't know if I should on here or not, it's already really long. I had not planned on his character developing as much as it did. xD And sorry if the ending sucks, it's not really an ending, it's only the beginning. ;3
