how he became blind: It was a cold day, and Inception was trotting across a large field to get to his barn because he sensed a snow storm was coming. He tripped, and rolled down a small snow hill and into a half frozen lake. He floated in the water until he regained conscious, but the damage was already done. His eyes were frozen over and his body was stiff and half frozen. He dragged himself out of the lake, and trudged home. After Inception's owner noticed his eyes, she called the vet who did his best. One thing changed though, his eyes, a once striking gold were now a pale blue, with ice stilled locked inside.

He did not see the tree branch as he came up on it, and it scratched across his eye by the sharp part of it and left him blind...From that day on, Andrew was blind in this eye.

how s/he became blind: Queen was left in an unstable paddock without food by her former owners. She was trying to get some grass over the fence when she tripped. She fell into the barbed wire and it snapped of the posts. She became entangled in it and struggled for hours before a neighbor called about distressed cries from the horse. Queen was rescued but not before she had badly injured herself as she struggled. Both of her eyes were badly scratched and never healed properly, so she has been blind ever since.

how s/he became blind: Belle got into a fight with another horse who she did not care very much for and when he reared up, one of his loose shoes scratched poor Belle in the eye and now since she is blind, she is more cautious and does not like much contact with other horses.

how she became blind: One night in her stall she managed to cast herself. Before anyone had found her she had banged around quite a bit hitting her head often. When she was found in that position that night the staff were quick to roll her and get her up. A vet was called and she was checked out. It wasn't until later that she started symptoms of equine recurrent uveitis (ERU) (also known as iridocyclitis, periodic ophthalmia, and moon blindness) from having repeated trauma to and around the eyes from her struggling. No one noticed because the breeding stable had fallen on hard times, all the staff were overworked and she was the least valuable horse, being barren. By the time someone noticed something was wrong it was too late and ERU had caused permanent blindness. The stable couldn't afford to keep a non-producing mare, and a blind one at that, so she came here to Serpentine Stables at an easy price.

EDIT: changed her name from lunam (latin for moon) to what it is currently.
