Donor:wesleydog Reason You Want It:The moment I saw this sweetie donated I knew I wanted her. Her gorgeous pale blue eyes and her simple design intrigued and fascinated me. Usually I'll go for the flashier, more complex designs, but every once in awhile, a truly beautiful, simple character will catch my eye and I'll feel drawn towards him/her. This time, it happened to be Somatra. This absolutely GORGEOUS wolf is amazing in every way - she is so beautiful with her bi-color fur and long, wispy tail. Her large ice-blue-tipped paws are lovely, as are her darker ears with such light interiors. The minute after I looked at her, I had an idea for her as a character. I knew somewhat of what I'd do with the sweetie if I won her. I'd put her on
my Weebly character site and I would use her as a character here on CS, coloring art of her and trying my best to continue to write stories about her. I may also try to get art of her on DA, but I wouldn't actually use her as a character on there, as I'm not extremely active on that site, anyway.

Sassy and Talkative[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra is very sassy and outspoken. She doesn't care who is listening - she'll give you a piece of her mind if she feels like it. If her views are different from yours and you decide to engage in conversation with her, she'll be sure to stand her ground. She never gives in, particularly in a fight. Sometimes she'll just walk away if she doesn't want to continue the conversation. She HATES being wrong, and will go to great lengths to avoid admitting as much to her opponents - but if she's been proven wrong, she'll begrudgingly admit it.
Obstinate[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra doesn't give a rip about what people think about her. She doesn't care about what's popular. As long as she looks good, she could care less if she's "in style" or not. She is very firm in her beliefs, as she knows what's right and wrong, and no amount of popular opinions will sway her. Somatra is very stubborn, and won't change her opinions, regardless of what others say. When she puts her mind to something, it gets done and gets done well.
Prideful[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra is very prideful. Even though she doesn't have a lot of money, she tries to give off the impression that she's well off in life. She hates pity, and can't stand getting "hand outs" from others. She can't stand it if people look at her in a weird way, as she knows that they are only feeling badly for her. She doesn't trust anyone for this reason, and can seem quite "high and mighty" if you talk to her. This is a sort of unconscious defense mechanism, as she doesn't want to admit that she needs help even with the most basic things, such as paying bills or getting enough food. Somatra walks with her head held high, even if she feels as low as a worm crawling on the ground. Appearance is everything to her, and Somatra believes that if one gives off a good impression that one can go far in life.
Independent[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra hasn't ever been really dependent on others, as she was abandoned at a young age and had to deal with the real world far earlier than one would normally have to. She is very self-reliant, and prides herself on being able to take care of herself without any help from anyone else. She hates asking for help, and makes a point of figuring out her own issues and problems. If she really needs to ask someone for help she will, but only as a last resort.
Somatra is particularly independent in her thoughts of romance. She doesn't want a boyfriend, as she feels one would only slow down her busy life and add more drama to an already hectic lifestyle. She knows she is confident enough to not need a guy, and that she can take care of herself perfectly well enough without one.
Graceful[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra is unexpectedly graceful. One would never expect such grace and fluid movement out of one so boisterous and loudmouthed. Beings who know her well are always shocked to find out that she's a professional dancer, as most wouldn't guess that her harsh demeanor would give way to such a seemingly gentle and delicate hobby. Though, when they voice these opinions, Somatra is quick to tell them that ballet is actually very difficult to perform, as it takes a lot of strength and motivation to perform it accurately.
Easily-Irritated[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra isn't always irritated, but if she's in a bad mood, she'll snap at you easily. Once angry or irritated, not much will stop her from going down a path of destruction. One of the few times she has no self control is when she's furious, and with her bad temper, this is more frequently than she'd like to admit. She frequently gets frustrated when having to deal with people whom she perceives as less knowledgeable than herself, and she'll often seem a little more harsh and demeaning towards these people. In general, she tends to have a bad attitude due to the low blows life has dealt her, and she can sometimes appear angry at the world because of this - but in reality, she is a very sensitive being who has a very hard outer shell that can be difficult to crack.
Intelligent[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra has always been intelligent. Since her childhood, she's always asked questions - her curiosity always seemed to consume her. While she'll be the first to admit that she doesn't know everything, she tends to be more knowledgeable than the average bear about most subjects. She was always studious as a child, and got excellent grades in her early years of schooling. The amount of knowledge she possesses sometimes gives her a puffed-up attitude, and she can sometimes seem as if she's lording her intelligence over others; if she appears to be doing this, she doesn't mean to - it's entirely in her subconscious, and has become a habit for her to do so, so she doesn't really realize she's partaking in this action.
Shy[♥♥♥♥♥]Somatra isn't shy at all. She's very gregarious and social, and doesn't like staying quiet for too long. Due to her extroverted nature, you'll rarely find her staying quiet if she's in a room of beings she knows. If she is quiet in a crowded room, it's solely because she's uncomfortable or she doesn't know anyone there and doesn't feel inclined to become anyone's acquaintance.
Hobbies:Dance - Ballet
Somatra is very passionate about dancing. She adores it and enjoys being able to express herself so perfectly using an artistic outlet that doesn't use the spoken language, but instead focuses on movement and motion to express emotion. There are times, while dancing, that she feels as if she can really fly; that she can soar through the sky and never fall.
History:"I don't like getting dizzy. It's not that I fear it - I mean, how could I when I deal with it on a daily basis? I just don't like it at all. If I stand up too quickly, I lose my balance and struggle to stay upright. Usually I black out and hear a rushing sound in my ears, too. This is due to my Tachycardia. The only times where my equilibrium isn't off are midnight and twilight."
"That's very odd," said the doctor, scribbling down notes on a clipboard. "Why do you think this is?"
Somatra practically rolled her eyes. "I just TOLD you why I thought it is so."
The doctor shrugged. "No need to get testy, I was just asking."
"Yeah, well, try using some common sense once in awhile and you wouldn't NEED to ask," she fired back, standing and leaping down from the bed. "I'm leaving." She flicked her tail indignantly. "This is ridiculous. I'll deal with my own problems, thanks." She walked out of the office, ignoring the doctor's persistence.
He followed her outside. "Please, miss, we really do need to give you a proper medical examination. You're not well, and I would love to help you, miss, perhaps by prescribing a certain drug - "
"Yeah, one that'll cost me a paw and an ear? I don't THINK so," she spat back, continuing to walk forward along the cold road.
"Please, miss, wait! If money's an issue, our clinic is willing to give you the first month for free!"
"Yeah, and after the first month, you'll sucker punch me with premiums as high as a skyscraper. As I said before - NO THANKS."
"Just stay a minute and we can talk this over, miss!"
When he grabbed her by the tail, she swiveled around and bit him without a second thought.
He jerked away, flicking the blood off of his hand.
"Let me go!" she snarled, baring her teeth and growling.
The doctor backed off immediately. "I...I...I sincerely apologize, miss."
"That's better," she spat, her fur still standing on end.
"It was wrong of me to grab you, but..."
"But WHAT?" she snarled, her tail bushing up to twice its normal size.
"I care about each of my patients, and want each of them to survive. Without our medical help, miss, I fear you won't live much longer."
"Then so be it."
"But, miss - "
She leapt at him, baring her teeth and growling once again. "Buzz off!"
He turned around and walked back into the clinic, a sad look on his face as he sighed.
"Serves him right," she muttered crossly, turning around and racing down the cobblestone street. "No one grabs me and gets away with it."
She slipped through a hole in the wall, almost scratching her fur on the sharp slivers of wood sticking out from the bent piece. She had calmed down since her encounter, and was frustrated as she circled around thrice, curling into a ball to ward off the cold. The wind blew through the ramshackle house, and chilled her to the bone most days. Somatra sighed, remembering with a smile what the week held for her. "Ballet practice.
Swan Lake," she murmured before falling asleep in the old house, creaky and dust-filled as it was.
Bright and early she rolled off of the royal blue pillow that she slept on each night. She trotted through her house after stretching, carefully stepping over the weaker spots in the floor so she wouldn't fall through to the basement below. Somatra found the full-length mirror in an abandoned room and practiced her steps, being sure to mask her normal expression and emotions and put on the ones of Odette, the main character whom she was planning to try out for. She practiced as her teacher did - standing on her hind legs and twirling, using her body to convey emotion, always trying her hardest to stay on the tips of her toes.
Go big or go home, she thought, determined as she did the steps over and over. "I WILL get the lead," she said, nodding her head in determination after pirouetting and curtseying, ending her first practice session of the day.
Somatra dealt with her dizziness quite well. It was worse during mornings and evenings, so she struggled through practicing her steps every morning and night, but during her mid-day practice sessions, she didn't have any issues at all. She learned to find a point and focus on it - a tip drilled into her head from years of ballet practice. This helped the dizziness pass quickly, and helped her to stay steady as she leapt and twirled through her dance steps.
The next morning, she walked into the ballet studio, head held high and tutu as straight as she could make it, the deep amber hue standing out against her bi-color fur. She had found the tutu in the garbage two weeks before, and had inspected it to find out why it had been thrown there in the first place. It had been ripped in several places, worn by repetitive usage over a long period of time. Somatra had tugged it through the snow into her shack of a house and sewn it back together, though it wasn't the best work. She was the first to admit it didn't look very pretty - sewing was not her strong-suit. If she'd only asked any one of the ballet teachers to give her a tutu, they were required to give her one - it was the company policy. However, Somatra refused to do this, preferring to fend for herself than grovel to her instructors.
"Good morning, class!" greeted the teacher, a large black and white rat in a pink tutu. A pistachio-green bow was tied around one of her ears, and her accent was clearly Russian. She stood on her back legs on tiptoe as she walked around, looking at her many students lined up along the bar in front of the mirror-filled wall. "Today we will be practicing for our upcoming performance,
Swan Lake. From how you each perform today, I shall be choosing the roles in the play. As most of you lovelies already know, there are very few main roles, so most of you will have supporting roles. But keep in mind that each role is very important, and we will have an understudy for every main role. So, my lovelies, begin!" Clapping her paws, she flicked her long, skinny tail, motioning for the pianist to start the music.
Somatra took a deep breath, sighing as the first notes were played. With a look of determination, she started to dance.
She performed adequately, and while she knew her performance wasn't perfect, she thought it was better than some of the other students.
I WILL get the lead, she thought once more, standing on her tiptoes with the rest of the students as they awaited their teacher's decision. Ms. Alena had gone to speak with two other teachers who had watched each student perform. They had retired to a room through oak doors, and were speaking in hushed tones so that none of the students could hear them - even the ones with superb hearing.
The rat suddenly threw open the doors, and daintily walked out, the other two teachers flanking her on either side. Her hips swayed as they always did, and her tutu looked as elegant as it always had as she came to a halt before the students, stepping forward and breaking rank for only a couple minutes. "Hello again, class."
"Greetings, Ms. Alena," the class answered in unison.
"We have made our decisions. Prince Siegfried, the main male lead, will be played by Jeremy. His understudy will be Rodger."
Jeremy threw a fist in the air as he jumped. "Yes!" he cheered quietly.
Rodger clapped him on the back. "Good job, buddy."
Ms. Alena demanded silence, and once she was given it, she continued with the announcements. "Rothbart, the only villain role, will be played by Simon. His understudy will be Juliet."
Juliet blinked in shock. She raised her paw tentatively. "Ms. Alena?"
"Yes, dear?"
"I'm a girl."
"Why, yes, my darling."
"Why did you cast me as an understudy for a male role, then?"
"You will perform adequately as the villainess, my dear, if the need arises. You and Simon are both rabbits, and you both will make excellent antagonists."
"But, Ms. Alena, I am quite shy..."
"I am aware of that, yes," the rat said, nodding with a smile on her face. "However, I know you will rise to the occasion if Simon cannot make it and you will perform well. I have all the faith in the world invested in you, my dear, and I know you can do anything you put your mind to. And if we need to change the villain to a villainess, then so be it."
"Yes, Ms. Alena," said Juliet, nodding as she timidly stepped back in line.
"Now, Simon, do you object to your role?"
He smiled, his face bright with happiness. "No, Ms. Alena, I am quite pleased you chose me to perform as the villain."
"Good. Now, as for the next role: Odile."
Somatra scrunched up her face.
What a horrible character, she thought.
I pity the sap that gets stuck with her role. She is such an evil enchantress, and is quite mean the entire length of the play. She's a brat...really, there's nothing good about the character at all, what with her being ordered around by her father to do his dirty work and her apathetic and whiny attitude."Now, for those of you thinking that she's the worst character of the bunch, I'd disagree," continued the rat. "Rothbart is the worst character of the bunch, in my professional opinion. Odile is only second-worst."
The class giggled.
"However, she is most necessary for the play. One cannot omit her character, as she plays a major part in Siegfried's deception. The reason I say this is because before we even agreed to hold auditions for the main roles in this play, many students were worried that they would get the role of Odile. Trust me, my lovelies, Odile may be a nasty character, but she is very important to the entire play. Now, with that out of the way," she continued, standing a little higher as she smiled, "the student to play Odile will be Somatra. Her understudy will be Ruby."
"WHAT?!" Ruby crowed, a shocked expression on her face. "I WANTED TO BE THE UNDERSTUDY FOR ODETTE!"
With all that screaming, I can see why she was picked as the understudy for Odile, though Somatra, a cross expression on her face as she glared at her understudy.
"If you object," said Ms. Alena, "then I shall choose someone else."
"I object," she spat hotly, huffing out something about the nerve of her teacher to pick her for such a disgusting role.
"You are hereby suspended from this ballet studio," Ms. Alena said calmly. "Gentleman? Would you please escort her out?"
The two male teachers at her sides nodded, and approached Ruby slowly.
"WHAT?!" Ruby crowed once more. "You didn't kick out Juliet when SHE objected to your choice!"
"She disagreed respectfully - you did not." Sighing after rubbing her temples, she continued. "You may return after our performance of
Swan Lake. You may attend the performance to watch it, but you will not be performing in it. Your money for these classes will be refunded if you so wish it."
"OF COURSE I WISH IT!" she shrieked, pulled out by the two teachers. "YOU'LL BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER ABOUT THIS!" she yelled behind her as she was taken out of the room.
Once Ruby's shrieks could no longer be heard, Ms. Alena spoke. "Somatra, your new understudy will be
Brittany."
Brittany nodded as she made her way over to stand next to Somatra. "Ms. Alena?" she asked, holding her pale gold paw high into the air.
"Yes, dearest?"
"I don't feel I am suited for the role of Odile. I am...well...I am far too nice a wolf."
The class snickered.
Robert loudly whispered to Jeremy, "She's got that right. She wouldn't even throw my eraser out after she'd heard my mom gave me the hideous thing. Wanted me to do it instead."
"Hush!" snapped the teacher. Once the class had quieted, she responded to Brittany's statement. "Dearest, that's the very reason I chose you to be the understudy. A being sometimes acts better in a role not like herself. If I would've given you the role of Odette I'm sure you would've played her beautifully - but I'm sure you'll do just as well playing Odile, should Somatra become unable to do so."
Brittany nodded. "Yes, Ms. Alena." She stepped back, now standing beside Somatra.
The rat continued. "The role of Odette will be played by Snowflake. Her understudy will be Frittata."
Both white wolves made their way to each other, hugging with smiles upon their faces. "Congrats," murmured Frittata.
"Thanks," Snowflake said, her smile as wide as it possibly could've been.
"Now that the roles have been dished out, let us commence with the script-taking!" Ms. Alena handed out the script to each student and gave out different colored highlighters to the main leads. "Please highlight your parts and practice them. I expect you all to have at least one-third of this memorized and properly practiced by next class session." Clapping her paws, she commanded the attention of the students for one final moment. "Practice hard and you will do well, my lovelies. Class is dismissed. Please leave the markers in the bucket by the door once you are finished highlighting your parts."
Somatra finished before everyone else and exited the building, feeling utterly crushed that she didn't receive the part she had practiced so hard for.
And of COURSE the fully-white wolves get the role of Odette. I'm certain that's why I wasn't chosen - my odd coloring sets me too far apart. And when Odile impersonates Odette, I'll have to be painted to look just like Snowflake. It's just not fair!Brittany soon caught up with her. "Hey, wait up, Lu!"
Somatra briefly smiled at her shortened nickname. Many beings still called her Luna, after her fascination with the moon when she was a youngster. "What do you want, Brit?"
"Can we practice together tomorrow? Seeing as we both need to get the steps down, I think it'll be most effective if we both practice together."
"Sure, where's your place at?"
"Oh, that's right, I forgot - you don't know where we live, since we moved recently."
Somatra nodded, waiting for her response.
"We live just down the street. Make a left, and you'll find us. Actually, why don't you just follow me home? I'd love to introduce you to my dad."
Somatra nodded once more, silent as she followed the purple wolf home. "Wow, you're really close to the studio," she said, arriving at the apartment moments later.
"Yup - it's one of the reasons dad decided to move. He wanted to live next door to me, and since I was close to the studio, that's where he moved to." She smiled, flicking her tail happily. "He even managed to get the apartment right next door to mine."
"That's lucky," Somatra said, wiping her paws on the welcome mat before her.
"Dad?" Brittany called in, tentatively stepping onto the threshold. "You here?"
"In the kitchen."
"I've brought a friend over. We're going to be practicing our ballet, but I thought I'd introduce you two first."
"Oh, bring that friend right on in here!"
Brittany led Somatra through the carpeted, beige room to the kitchen, with tile and a running fridge, oven, and stove. "That's my dad, Buster," she said, nodding to the old wolf sitting at the table, eating a baloney sandwich. "Dad, this is Somatra, a friend of mine from ballet class."
"Pleased to meet you," he said, setting down the sandwich and unsteadily getting to his paws. "Sorry, I'm a bit slower these days - arthritis and all," he explained, reaching out a shaky paw.
Somatra shook it. "Pleased to make your acquaintance."
"My, she's very lovely," said Buster, smiling at his daughter. "You always did have the best taste in friends. Wish I had as much luck."
Brittany joshed her father playfully. "Well, if you'd get out more, maybe you would!"
He laughed. "Go and practice your ballet, dear. I'll be waiting for you when you're finished - but please, take your time."
"Will do," she said, waving a paw as she led Somatra out.
When they got to her apartment they entered quickly, shutting the door behind her and locking it. Brittany flicked on a light and led her friend to a room entirely made of mirrors and bars. "It's small, but it'll do for this practice session, I suppose," said Brittany. "Let me get changed and pull my hair up, and then we'll start, okay?"
Somatra nodded, in awe of the room before her.
Brittany ran off to the bathroom to freshen up. A couple minutes later she returned, her hair pulled up in a bun. "Okay, let's start!" she said, hitting a button on the boombox on the floor.
Three hours later, they had memorized a fraction of what they needed to by the end of the week. Somatra was tired. "I think I'll call it a day," she said, packing her things up.
"Please, feel free to take a shower," Brittany said. "I'm going over to my dad's for a couple hours to watch TV. Just ring the doorbell when you're finished, so I know to come back and lock up."
Somatra blinked in shock. "You'd trust me enough to do that?"
"Of course! You're my friend. You won't steal from me." Brittany laughed as she waved goodbye. "Just lock the door behind you - the bottom one, not the top. I'll get in later to lock that. Bye!"
Somatra was left in the lavish apartment, and found her way to the bathroom. She took the longest shower she ever had, relishing in the hot water and sweet-smelling soap, both things she didn't have at home. "Cold water and scratchy soap," she murmured, remembering the dismal place she lived. She dried off, shocked at the softness of the towels. "I didn't know towels could be this soft," she murmured, burying her face in one of them. She sighed, hanging it back up over the curtain rod to dry. She grabbed her bag and left, locking the bottom lock behind her. She rung the doorbell of the room next door, and after making sure Brittany had locked up her apartment, she left, heading back to her dusty, old house.
For the next three weeks, Somatra and Brittany memorized the steps they needed to perform adequately for the teacher on dress rehearsal night. Eventually, they moved their practice sessions to Snowflake's lavish mansion, where most of the students practiced together, so as to get a better feel for how the actual dress rehearsal would go.
One day while Somatra was at Snowflake's house for practice, she tripped and ripped her tutu.
"Oh no!" Snowflake cried. "It's okay, Somatra! My seamstress will fix that right up for you, free of charge."
Somatra had to hold herself back. She would've leapt at the white wolf and pinned her to the ground if she hadn't checked her fury. "It's fine," she said through gritted teeth, standing slowly to make sure she hadn't broken any limbs. "I'll fix it myself. Where's your sewing kit?"
Snowflake led her to the seamstress's room. "See to it that she has everything she needs," Snowflake demanded of the humble older wolf. Turning to Somatra, she smiled. "Just tell her when you're finished and she'll lead you back to us."
Somatra nodded, digging around in the pile of sophisticated tools. "All I need is some needle and orange thread," she said, pawing through the pile of odd items.
The older wolf pulled out exactly what she needed and handed them to her. "If you need any help, just ask."
"I'll be fine on my own, thanks."
Somatra managed to stitch up her outfit better than she had previously.
"You look like you need a new one," the older wolf said with a smile. "That one is pretty worn. It's clear that you love dancing, my dear."
Somatra nodded, slipping it back on. "It's fine, but thanks anyway. Could you please show me the way back to the practice room?"
"Of course, dear."
Somatra returned moments later, and danced the rest of the night without any problems whatsoever.
What she didn't notice was the subtle look the old wolf gave Snowflake.
Three days before the dress rehearsal, Somatra showed up to ballet practice as usual at Snowflake's house, seeing Brittany there in her pink tutu. "Hi, Somatra! You have a gift from Snowflake!"
Somatra frowned, puzzled. "My birthday isn't until far after the performance. What is this for?"
Snowflake giggled as she hugged Somatra around the neck. "We're friends, silly. And friends don't let friends go wanting for something as simple as clothing."
Somatra continued to frown, giving Snowflake a confused look.
"Just open it!" Brittany said, excited to see what her friend was receiving.
Somatra slowly opened the green package, lifting the ribboned-lid off slowly. She gasped as she saw what lay inside: an amber leotard and tutu set with ballet slippers and a tiara.
"Now you don't have to wear that ratty thing! You'll look beautiful for the performance!" Snowflake said, smiling as her tail wagged happily.
"How can I repay you?" asked Somatra, her eyes filling with tears.
"I all ready told you - we're friends. This is a GIFT - you don't owe me anything."
Somatra hugged Snowflake as hard as she possibly could have. "Oh, Snowflake! To think I didn't even like you in the beginning! Thank you so much!"
Snowflake laughed, hugging her new friend back. "Soma, you silly pup - I've always thought highly of you. I was surprised YOU didn't get the role of Odette!"
On performance night, Somatra was dressed in her new amber tutu and leotard set, the ballet slippers fitting her perfectly. The only thing she didn't wear was the tiara, as it didn't match her role in the play.
Ms. Alena was pleased to see that everyone showed up, except for Simon. "Juliet?" she said, calling over the timid rabbit. "You've practiced all your choreography, right, dearest?"
"Yes, Ms. Alena."
"I regret to inform you that Simon broke his leg yesterday, and cannot be in the play. He's in the audience though, so you will see your dear friend."
Juliet nodded, already guessing what her teacher would say next.
"You'll be filling in as Rothbart."
Juliet gulped nervously. "Y-Y-Y-Yes, Ms. Alena."
The rat hugged the rabbit. "You'll do fine. I believe in you."
Juliet nodded, a slightly less nervous look in her eyes as she turned to prance out on stage.
"Ah, but wait, dear! We've got to do a wardrobe change!"
Juliet glanced down at her white leotard and matching tutu. "Oops."
"Come along, dear!" And with those words, the rat swept the rabbit away backstage to do some last minute changes.
Somatra sighed, feeling a tad bit nervous about the performance.
Brittany was beside her, smiling as she squeezed her friend's paw. "We're going to be great."
"Soma!" loudly whispered a voice behind her.
Somatra turned, looking back at the two white wolves behind her.
Snowflake raced over, hugged Somatra and bopped her ears. "Break a leg!" she said before racing off to the other side of the stage with her companion, the velvet curtain not yet raised for the show to start.
Somatra smiled when she looked over at Brittany. She squeezed her friend's paw back. "Yeah, we are."
After the performance, Somatra got many compliments from audience members. She stopped by to see Simon in his wheelchair and signed his cast before she left the building. "Sorry you couldn't make it," she said, giving him a sorrowful look.
Simon just laughed. "I think Juliet did a better Rothbart that I would have! She was amazing."
"She did do well," Somatra agreed, smiling as she remembered the performance once again.
After saying goodbye to everyone, she walked home. To get to her house, she had to pass Brittany's, and as she passed it, she almost ran into the purple and gold wolf.
Somatra stopped her for a moment. "Brit? Can I ask a favor?"
"Sure."
"Can you sleep over at my house tonight?"
Brittany frowned. "Really? You've never invited me over."
"I think it's time I show someone where I live."
Brittany nodded, and ran up the stairs to her apartment. When she came back down, she was holding a pillow and sleeping bag. Her hair was pulled up into a bun, instead of hanging lose at her shoulders as it normally was. "Let's go!"
After spending the night at Somatra's house, Brittany was concerned for her friend. She managed to talk Snowflake into helping her raise money to pay for renovations for her friend's house, and after having multiple yard sales and three bake sales, they managed to scrape up enough money to pay for their gift to Somatra.
One day, when Somatra returned home from ballet practice, she couldn't get into her home due to the workers. "What are you all DOING here?" she roared, furious that someone would be ransacking her house.
"We're fixing up the house as we were ordered, miss."
"And WHO ordered you to do THAT?!"
"A white wolf by the name of Snowflake Sim."
Somatra blinked in shock. "What did you say?" she asked quietly.
"She told us that all your personal items were at Brittany Barker's house, and that you could easily find your way there."
Somatra simply nodded, numb with shock as she turned and walked back down the way she'd come. She climbed up the stairs to Brittany's apartment and knocked on the door. When it opened, she looked up at her friend with tears in her eyes. "Was this your idea?"
"Yes..." she said hesitantly. "Are you mad at me?"
"Mad?!" Somatra asked hoarsely, trying not to break down sobbing. "I'm happy!" She stumbled into the house and heard Brittany close the door behind her, locking it shut. "Only...where will I sleep?"
"You can stay over here for as long as you'd like."
"Where's my mirror?"
"At my dad's. There wasn't room for it in here, but everything else you own is in the guest bedroom."
Somatra nodded again, sitting down on the carpeted floor. "What can I say to show you how much I appreciate this?"
"Nothing at all, Luna," said Brittany with a smile. "Snowflake and I are your friends - this is just what friends do. We look out for each other."
Somatra's eyes filled with tears, and they rolled down her cheeks in fat drops. "Thank you. Thank you so much."
Brittany hugged her friend. "You're welcome."
