Random facts about them:
He is warm to the touch no matter where he goes. It might have something to do with his volcanic DNA. Snow melts around him and is a perfect cuddling companion.

He loves to play in the lava flows and they don't seem to burn him.

His markings and eyes glow like lava and can be seen in the night

When He's cool, asleep, depressed, or relaxed his body "cools down" to almost black but when he's excited, anxious, playful or angry it turns a deep red as seen here.

His eyes change color depending on his mood as well from dark red to orange depending on the above moods.

He was once one of Pele's pets, but now wanting to explore she brought him here to get adopted.

Can breath small puffs of fire

Personality
Sweet and playful.Can be careless at times but it makes up in his kindness. Sometimes his hotness can get him into trouble and cause him depression. Don't get on his bad side because he can be a little hot-headed and bad tempered, however he can usually keep it under control.

Sorry guys, I've been occupied with a lot of things lately so this has kinda gone to the back while I've been sorting stuff out.

Because of this I still haven't gotten around to making that final decision on the name situation, but I will make a couple announcements.

Staff Announcement;

I said I'd pick 1-2 people, I wasn't sure if I should pick more then that, I had several good forms that I really liked! But in the end I decided I didn't want to pick too many, so I decided to choose just one person. I will in the future likely open apps again, but I don't want too many staff for a small thread c:

So the new chosen staff is Ciriun!
They will be here on the thread as a moderator, answering questions and just in general making sure that the thread stays clean and friendly! They also may help out with judging (provided they did not enter for the adopt) and do other miscellaneous things around the thread. c:

Name Announcement;

I took a careful look through all the names entered, but after evaluating all of them I didn't feel that any of them really fit the species quite the way I liked. Regardless, I will still chose a winner and that person will still receive the prize (a fully custom adopt), but when I have the time to really sit down and think about the species I'll be creating my own name for them.

So the winner for the name contest is Bloo.!

Future Shipments and Events;

The current shipment will be coming down very soon, I just want to get a bit of a warning in for that before I do.

Sometime over the course of October there will be a small-ish Halloween event. Depending on when I have time to complete it, it may not be till mid-late October, but hopefully sooner!

I am working on the special shipment mentioned in the recent polls as well, and those will be coming out soon as well (hopefully early-mid October). The most popular option on the poll was the 'Robot/android or electricity/circuit' option, so that will be the theme!

Since we are going to be having a lot going on in October, any regular shipment that may come in will probably be smaller because most of my effort will be concentrated on the big stuff! But I will try to sneak some in here and there c:

Artist Search;

A few weeks ago I mentioned I may be looking for more artists soon, I've kept that on my mind since then and I have decided that I will be looking for artists soon, possibly to help me with the Halloween event. I'll probably be looking for only 1-2 full-time artists (1-2 shipments a month) and possibly a couple ghost artists if the artist prefers that (provides shipments or single designs irregularly). Some guest artists may also be chosen (just 1 shipment with 3-5 adopts) who may help out with regular adopts, or possibly just to help out with the event.
So hopefully we will be able to provide shipments more often and make this a little more active!

So if you are interested, I provided some other specific information when I first mentioned it here, if you didn't see that post I suggest reading it. And keep any eye out, I may get that artist search up very soon so that I have time to choose some in time to help me with the event c:

Ok I said I wanted this to get up soon so I'll do it right now!

There is a lot of information below, so if you are interested please read it carefully. This is to make sure that both you and I are fully versed on what will be expected of an artist and what they can and cannot do as an artist. If you have any questions please read this first and if it is not answered then please ask me and I would be happy to answer. If you read this and are at all confused or unsure about something in it, please ask me and I would be happy to clarify.

I take this very seriously, I will be making my lineart fully available to the artists I choose, and I must be able to trust that they will use that lineart only for the purpose of creating adopts for this thread, and not to abuse it or use it for their own personal gain. Because of this I will have guidelines I expect the chosen artists to follow and I will review all designs before they are posted to ensure they follow those guidelines.

• Any and all artists must be able to create designs made only with pixels (this means no blending permitted). Artists will not need to shade or animate their designs. (They may shade if lineart edits were made, and may animate only if I am satisfied they can do it correctly). Designs should be fairly clean and neat, not be colored outside of the lines, and be fairly recognizable.
• You must be able to download the lineart when I give it to you and make designs on it with an art program on your computer! You CANNOT use the oekaki here on CS. If you need an art program, GIMP is a free basic art program you can download and use for this.
• The lineart I have is currently an .xcf file. If this is not compatible with your program for some reason please let me know.

What I'm Looking For;

• Full-Time Artists
  
  • Looking for 1-2 of these. They will be expected to create 1-2 shipments of designs of at least 2-5 designs (4-10 total) a month. Any and all designs created by full-time artists may be subject to my approval first. Collaboration with other artists is allowed (lineart edits done by one artist and coloring by another, or other such things). If a full-time artist is for some reason unable to make designs for a short period of time this is fine. But if the period is extended (over a month) they may temporarily or permanently become a ghost artist, during which time I hold authority to hire a new full-time or guest artist in their place, if that is felt to be necessary. Full-time artists can create customs or ask another full-time artist to create customs for themselves or friends ONLY after gaining permission from me. If a user wins a custom in a contest or event, any full-time artist or specifically requested full-time artist can make that custom for them.
• Guest Artist
  
  • May or may not hire any of these. They will be expected to create 1 shipment of 3-5 designs. Time periods during which their shipment way be released can vary, and shipments may be staggered so not all of them are released at once. Guest artists may also be hired to create designs for contests or events instead of regular shipments. 3-5 designs will still be the required total number of designs. Any and all designs created by full-time artists may be subject to my approval first. Collaboration with other artists is allowed, but 3-5 designs total must be made by the guest artist (They may help with lineart edits and this will not count toward their total). I may chose to promote a guest artist to a full time artist, this may be done regardless of whether artist apps are currently open. Guest artists are NOT to ask to become full time, it will be offered of my own accord if I want them to become full time. Guest artists can always refuse the offer if they do not want to become full time. Guest artists MAY be allowed to create or ask a full-time artist to create a custom for themselves or a friend ONLY after getting permission from me.
• Ghost Artist
  
  • May or may not hire any of these. They will not be expected to create designs on a regular basis or create a certain number of designs, ghost artists will create designs intermittently and may make single designs or full shipments. They will be expected to create designs at least every once in a while though. Any and all designs created by full-time artists may be subject to my approval first. Collaboration with other artists is allowed. Ghost artists may be removed from the artists list if they ask, cannot create any more designs, or have not created any designs in a long while. Ghost artists may be promoted to full-time artist ONLY if they have expressed interest in becoming full-time AND if I offer them the position. This can be done regardless of whether artist apps are open. Ghost artists should only ask once if they want to become full-time, and may be asked if they want to become full-time if they have creating almost or more then enough designs a month to already be considered full-time. Ghost artists MAY be allowed to create or ask a full-time artist to create a custom for themselves or a friend ONLY after getting permission from me.

What an Artist is Allowed to do;

• Artists are allowed to have access to the most up-to-date version of the species lineart. They may create designs on these and make lineart edits.
  
• Artists may create themed designs or shipments for regular adopts, create designs for contests, and create themed designs for coming events. Artists may be asked specifically to create designs for certain contests/events which they may decline, or be asked NOT to create designs for certain contests/events.
• Artists do NOT have moderator privileges on the thread. They may help answer questions, and other similar things, but should not engage in moderator activities. In the case that no thread-mod is available and the situation calls for immediate attention, they may step in to help alleviate the situation. They should also contact a site moderator or report the post if the situation calls for such action (if site rules are being broken, ect.)
• Artists should NOT show complete or incomplete designs to anyone who is not thread staff without my permission. This mainly concerns posting designs on the public forums. If an artist would like to show a friend or stream a design then it is the artist's responsibility to make sure that the people they show the design to will not post it publicly.
• Artists may be promoted to thread moderator ONLY if they express interest in it AND if I offer them the position. They should only ask once if they desire to become a thread-mod.
• Any designs an artist makes will be subject to my approval. This is to ensure that the designs are fully ready to be posted and any lineart edits conform to the general style of the base. It is also to ensure that the design and/or edits fit to the basis of the species and it has not already been done, looks too close to a previous design, or for some other reason should not be used.
• These are subject to change and if changed all artists will be notified of such changes.

Design Details;

• This species is very open in terms of what designs are and are not allowed. They can have any level of intelligence and originate from known or unknown places. They may for certain occasions be larger or smaller then normal as well.
  
• They MUST still be a lizard-like creature conforming to the basis of the original lineart.
• They CANNOT look like a creature/character/person/ect from any TV show, book, movie, series, game, ect. They MAY be loosely based off of any of these things though.
• Regular or custom adopts CANNOT be a copy/color-in of someones OC/fursona/or anything mentioned in the above point. Regardless of whether the person asking for such own the OC/fursona/ect.
• Some extreme lineart edits may be rejected for various reasons. These are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Because very adopt is subject to my approval, they will all be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and can be rejected for a reason not specifically listed above.
• These are subject to change and if changed all artists will be notified of such changes.

How to Become an Artist;

• Get your design examples
  
  • You must show me 2+ PIXEL designs that are made 100% by you. (Only the design must be made by you, not the lineart) Pixel designs should not be blended in any way. If possible, designs without shading are preferred.
    
  • You do NOT need to be able to make linearts/lineart edits. If you can and you have examples you may include them.
  • I am looking for a variety of different types of designs to show me your capabilities. The more examples the better. but they shouldn't all look the same, try to show me a large variety of designs.
  • Designs on linearts about the size of these adopts are preferred. Making designs in larger or smaller linearts is not always the same as linearts of this size.
  • Designs can be made on any platform or program, but you must also be able to make designs like those with the lineart I provide you and have a program on your computer to draw them on.
• Fill out the form

• Send in your form
  
  • Your form must be sent to me through PM
  • If for any reason you would like to change something in your form please send me a new PM with the new fully completed form. Do not send in your form unless it is complete
  • You should already have at least two examples on the form you send in, and if you have more you should be satisfied with the amount and variety of examples you send in. If for any reason you would like to send in more examples at a later date, you should send in ALL extra examples at once. You do not need to re-send the whole form to send in new examples. Just alert me that you already sent in a form and you want to add some examples.
• Wait
  
  • Its the hardest part I know, but I may leave applications open for a while to make sure I get enough in. The good part is that I may need some help making more designs before I'm ready to close applications, so I may chose one or two people to become artists before apps are closed. Most likely these people will only be guest or ghost artists.

The artist who made the designs will judge them and make the forms, unless they don't want to/don't have time/ect. And of course they can get help from other thread-staff to judge them or get second opinions if they like. But for the most part it will be the artist who judges and makes the forms for them. c:
