Name:
Linna
Gender:
Female

Short Story:
It began when she was young, from the start. She tossed her head up towards her mum, smiling, and nabbed at the string her mother was holding in her mouth. A leash, it was, but Linna didn't know better. She pulled on it, tearing it out of her mothers mouth and jumping around like a wolf possessed, trying to nab the leash at the same time as not letting it 'eat' her. Her mother stood watching, grinning.
This was her first time with 'string', but not the only time. Silly String, oh, what a joy! Spraying it on your brothers and sister? Excellent! Again Linna's mother stood watching, if ever anything got out of hand.
And a few years later, many season past, Linna stood weeping. Her mother's voice echoed in her ears, a memory and nothing more. Around her mother's tail was wrapped two black strings, turquoise hearts hanging down in a lovely array. Her mother reached up weakly and untied this accessory, pushing it toward Linna. The wolf smiled, eyes beginning to dull, and went limp. Dead was her mother. Linna cried until morning.
But this story has more of a happy ending, one where she was adopted into a good home, as well as her brothers and sisters, and found a new family. Though they could never replace her mother, they have their own places in her heart. She'll never forget her mother, never ever, even years and years from now, when she will go to join her. She only hopes somebody will remember her in her passing when she leaves, as she did her mum.
