Hello everyone!
We had some really stunning entries for the artist search, but I have chosen my artists. Due to the fact that there were so many skilled entries, I have chosen to take on three artists rather than one or two. They are...
summer.

Hello everyone, welcome to the Siberian Purlhound artist search.
Due to popular demand, I have decided to give you guys the opportunity to apply to be artist for my breed, the Siberian Purlhound. I shall be looking for 2-3 artists, although I may pick more dependant on the applications. Please find below all the information you need to apply, as well as some handy information on the Purls' colours and the four different types of Purlhound c:
I will choose the artists on the 5th of September.
How To Apply
To apply, all you need to do is colour in a Purlhound to the best of your ability. Be creative! But of course, please abide by the breed colours and markings, and do not make any line edits apart from the hair (if you so wish). c: You may colour one of each of the types, (smooth, maned smooth, feathered and rough) meaning you can enter a total of 4 times. There is no requirement of gender, but should you win, you can choose one of your entries to keep as your very own Purlhound! For each entry you colour, please post the form below with it.

Colouring Tips
When colouring, the please remove all of the labelled "REMOVE" layers. You can then choose the lines, and colour layer for whichever of the four types you choose to design. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SHADING LAYERS. The layers labelled "extras", is the lock alpha layer for the eyes, nose and hair.
Coat Colours and Markings
Purlhounds can exhibit any colour that a dog can be in theory but, similar to borzois, Purlhounds will always have some white on them. The percentage of their fur covered by the colour varies from simple white spotting to harlequin.
Common:
white and black, tri colour, brindle, merles, white and brindle, partial ticking
Uncommon:
Fawn, white and merle head, black and white, tri sable merle
The Four Types
Purlhounds are separated into four groups.
Smooth
Smooth Purlhounds are one of the newest additions to the breed, the thick mane bred out of the hounds to make it more efficient in herding cattle and running through thick undergrowth. Sharing the quick speed and agility of its cousin the Borzoi, a lot of farmers prize a smooth Purlhound as the leader of their agricultural "pack".
Maned Smooth
Rarely used for hunting, these hounds have been specifically bred to keep their mane, but lose the thicker fur on the rest of their body. Commonly, they are shown, and there are numerous pedigree lines of maned smooths around the world.
Feathered
This variety of Purlhounds are what you could call the original ones. Before extensive selective breeding within the breed, the feathered Purlhound is what the dog looked like. Having a fairly mellow yet playful temprement, the feathered variety usually isn't shown or used in hunting but, in western countries especially, are used to make superb house pets.
Rough
Rough Purlhounds are the rarest form. There are very few distributed across the world and all are highly valued. Some of them are shown at high profile dog shows and are one of the only dogs that will win over a maned smooth Purlhound. However, when bred it is very rare that they will pass on the rough fur gene.
Good Luck!
