You've found yourself lost in a forest, a forest that makes you wonder what kinds of creatures live in it. You're a brave soul and were dared to go into the forest. As you hear noises, you travel onward and forwards, curious. You come to a thick grove of trees with all sorts of vine ramps, ladders, and bridges. Now even more curious than before, you decide to climb the closest ladder. When you get to the top you see dozens of 'wolves' hanging lazily about. All of them have huge, bird-like wings. Most of them don't pay any attention to you and, as you draw nearer to them, you simply cannot believe their size. They're huge! Almost big enough to ride upon like a horse, an animal that might be potentially used for battle. One of the creatures notice you and, being curious, comes to you. The more you interact with the 'wolf' the more you bond! Now you have a companion to travel with as you continue your way through the unfamiliar woods ahead. This plot is set during the Medieval Period.

WHAT IS A VENTUS LUPI?

◌ Ventus Lupi are the common ancestors of Nyeinstan Dires and share many similarities.

◌ This type of wolf is up to 3x the size of the normal Grey Wolf and 2x as large as the Dire Wolf. The usually have a plain base color and solid colored markings, though Greater Ventus Lupi commonly have brighter markings and it isn't rare to have blending into the base ones or multi-colored ones. Venti usually have a thick main, but a small percentage do lack this trait. They most commonly have great wings rising from their back. It is extremely rare that gene defects create a wolf with no wings, especially in the common variety of Venti.

◌ Their claws are considerably larger than a normal wolf's claws, with their front claws being larger than their back claws. If kept in good condition, their claws can slice through flesh like butter. Dull claws have 50% percent reduction in reliability for slicing through their intended target.

◌ Most Venti are un-trusting of humans, therefor they stay away from human civilization unless they have to go near them. There are a select few, roughly 15% of Ventus Lupi that interact with humans and become companions with them. Once they have become a humans companion, they will be very protective and loyal to said person, willing to risk their life to save their friend.

◌ Females in both variations are typically slightly bigger than males. It isn't uncommon to find that the trait varies.

◌ Venti are able to speak to humans. They rely mostly on English but are smart so as to learn other languages as well. German is a first language for about half the population, as it is the origin of the Greater Venti. Only Greater Venti have the capability of speaking in more than one language at once.

◌ Litters of pups range from 2-6 offspring.

◌ Common Venti originated on English land, Greater Venti originated in Germany.

BREEDS AND VARIATIONS

Common Ventus Lupi

◌ Hieght: 5 to 6 feet tall at the shoulder.
◌ Length: 10 feet to 12 feet from nose to tail.
◌ Acceptable Coat Colors: Almost any is deemed 'acceptable'. However, most Commons are a plain base color with solid markings. Most don't have very many bright colors.
◌ Originated on English soil.
◌ Unable to speak multiple languages at once.

Greater Ventus Lupi

◌ Hieght: 6.5 to 7 feet tall at the shoulder.
◌ Length: 13 feet to 14 feet from nose to tail.
◌ Acceptable Coat Colors: Any coat is deemed 'acceptable'. Most Greater breeds are a plain base color with solid markings. Any color is acceptable.
◌ Originated in Germany.
◌ Able to speak multiple languages at once.
◌ Often times these wolves have a special power or attack. Very few have elemental powers, however.

Ventus Lupi Ludicro

◌ Height: 3 to 5 feet tall at the shoulder.
◌ Length: 6 to 10 feet from nose to tail.
◌ Acceptable Coat Colors: Only those coats that 'mimic' other species' colors. An example might be a ladybug look or parrot look. They can come of any color and any markings.
◌ They can have almost any growth: beaks, talons, bat wings, insect wings, horns, spikes, and scales don't even begin to cover it.
◌ Originated in South America but are found all around the globe due to the drifting of tectonic plates and migration.
◌ The smallest of all Ventus Lupi breeds.
◌ Able to speak multiple languages at once.

That means no roleplaying in this thread, random chatter, keep everything PG-13, etc. If you wish to roleplay your Nyeinstan Dire with other owners please create a fandom-based roleplay and PM me the link so I can put it on the RP list.
➤Limit: 5 Ventus Lupi -Exception Below and in Breeding
Simply because some people like to hoard adoptables every chance they get. Please give other people a chance to get one as well. I may raise or lower the limit as I think necessary. If your Venti breeds and you're above your limit you may still choose a puppy to take as your own without trouble.
If you have over the limit, do not fret. The people who already have the set limit amount before it changes will NOT be affected.
This does not include me or the mods and artists, who may have an unlimited number. However, that doesn't mean that the mods and myself can take all of the adoptions. Mods can take up to 3 a week, I may only take 2.
All Venti that are GIFTED to you do not count towards your numbers.
➤Be Respectful
Please do not start fights with other Ventus Lupi Owners. I do not tolerate aggression or rude/sarcastic behavior. I will temporarily ban you from the thread for a set amount of days.
Repeated offenses = Banned from the thread Permanently and all Venti will be moved to the pound and stripped of their names.
This does not affect roleplays.
➤Names must be appropriate
I do not want any inappropriate or senseless names. Anything that should not be said on CS in general (adult material) should not even be thought of as a name.
Lol, Smiley, Derpy, etc. will not be accepted as names. Please be creative with your Venti's names.
➤Roleplays and FanArt

Roleplays are meant for everyone's adoptables to interact with each other. Go wild with your plots and feel free to use your adoptable as the image for the character ref sheets.
Fanart is appreciated, such as a stamp or banner, but no creating your own versions of the species. It is a CLOSED species.
➤Do not use on another website without crediting
The adoptables I draw must not be used on any other website besides here without linking back to the thread and crediting the line artist and design artist. If you wish to draw them yourselves, go ahead. That is art you may post other places without linking back.
Do not use my artwork to claim as your own, nor the species.
➤Breeding
When breeding, only MALExFEMALE is aloud. You may ONLY take 1 of your Venti's litter for each parent you own, UNLESS you've gotten permission to breed those Venti from other Venti owners. Then, and only then, are you allowed to pick from the litter when you don't own the Venti.
Common and Greater Venti may breed together, but Ludicro Venti may only breed with other Ludicro. ALL breeds may breed with normal wolves, as well as foxes. This does not include Nyeinstan Dires, which may ONLY breed with Commons or Greater Venti.
Once you have chosen your Venti to keep there are two options: gift or put up for adoption. Make sure to tell me who you're gifting those Venti to. If those 'owners' of the held Venti do not respond within two weeks to claim their gifted Venti then the litter WILL go up for adoption.
You MUST wait at least a week before your Venti may breed again. Venti's may breed four times -subject to change- before they cannot breed any longer.
A wild Venti mates for life but domesticated Venti do not.
Puppy's grow up in one week. PM me when you'd like to see your full grown Venti.
Markings may change color, appear, or disappear as they grow, so don't be surprised if they seem to change before your eyes!
