Rekks were discovered by the deceased Dr. Bjornsten, one of the few remaining human specimens to survive the natural apocalypse. Barriers between continents were shattered and the man-made chemical plants destroyed and mutated thousands of surrounding biomes. Hyenas, birds, and wolves fused together to make a monstrosity in one of many 'species melts'. Radioactive material from beneath the Earth's crust sped up the process of evolution, new changes being made every other generation. An external rib cage was one result of the evolutions Rekks endured, all of the bones inside and outside a Rekk became incredibly strong and nearly unbreakable.

They are intelligent creatures. As far as canid intelligence goes. Empathy and anger is apparent, the species staying in 'packs' and caring for the young like an animal pack of the past would have done. Although they have minor characteristics of today's animals that is all they share. Cannibalism is not rare to rival packs if food is rare. They have no gender. Every Rekk can breed with any of their choosing as every creature is equipped with the same reproductive organs.

This beastie is a piebald red brindle with white and appears to have a tattered blue cloth tied around its front left leg. Other than that everything looks pretty common.

How/where did the blue cloth come from?:
Before the apocalypse, a part of this brute was once a mild mannered collie who was best friends with a young human. The child tied a blue scarf around his companions neck as a symbol of their friendship. When the apocalypse came, sidewinders human became very ill, and in return the dog began to mutate into a REKK. Being to small for its neck, the human tied the token of friendship around his canine's leg, hoping it would remind him of the life they use to have. Shortly after this, the child breathed his last, and sidewinder went out into the world, hoping that one day its little friend would return.

how/where did the blue cloth come from?: He used to have an owner, he abouded him, one day, this R.E.K.K got so mad, he killed he's owner,the owner was wearing a (blue) bandana, this R.E.K.K teared it off of him, and put it on he's shoulder, in honor of his owner.

how/where did the blue cloth come from?: hyperion got the cloth from the first human it killed. The human was a man who was killing off members of hyperion's pack. So hyperion stepped in, killing the foul beast. It wears the denim cloth of the human to remind itself of it's victory

Nobody knows, it did not magically appear though. It is suspected that it comes from the same place as the collars, but if you ask me I tend to pretty up things and make up stories, so here's where it comes from...
One day as it had been wandering in the enormous postapocalyptic landscape, the beast came upon a dog carcass. There was a tiny amount of meat left on the bones but there was also some cloth on his neck. The best ignored the cloth and devoured the meat, but after it turned the cloth was gone. A scientist had taken it as it reminded him of the bandanna his dog, Brutus, used to wear. The beast that had eaten the meat also happened to remind him of his dog , so he named it after him. The scientist smiled to himself , thinking Brutus might not have been murderous and savage when he was a live but he sure was now when his name had been given to a beast the [color=#804000]size of a bear.
