dakota's fear at being chosen for the tournament
soon faded away, and was replaced by sheer excitement
and pride to be the one representing durmstrang. she
allowed a grin to overtake her lips as her eyes traveled
over the crowd, landing on each and every cheering face
- some appearing happy, others seeming displeased. she
knew that some of the other students would be anrgy at
not being chosen, but she wouldn't let that get to her. she
nodded her head at the ravenclaw table, where her
brother had just let out a high wolf-whistle after a call
of her name, and then let her eyes wander. she found
nathaniel amongst the crowd, betting to another gal that she
would be the victor. she rolled her eyes lightly at that.
nate was a fun guy, hilarious and a joy to be around, though
he could get a tad crazy. she smirked at him and his wager,
before looking over to the two standing beside her. she
heard zach's words and nodded. "if exciting is the right
word," she said to both zachary, and elle, smiling at
the both of them. she didn't really know arielle all that
well, but she was glad to have zach in the tournament with
her. that should be an interesting challenge.
declan, however, was pleased about everything, other than
that fact. out of all the people that dakota could have gone up
against, it had to be zachary forrest. really? he cheered for his
twin sister, before his eyes traveled to zachary's, watching as
he mouthed something to the other two, dakota smiling
like a smitten schoolgirl. if he didn't know any better, declan
would think that his sister didn't loathe the other ravenclaw lad
as much as she put on. as the champions were lead out of the room,
declan - now alone due to his sister's absence - dug into the food
in front of him, his stomach rumbling in appreciation.
dakota turned as the headmaster spoke to the three of them,
and nodded her head, following professor stimpson across the
great hall. she wondered what sort of 'further instruction' she,
zach, and elle would be recieving in the hallway, but she was
honestly too tingly with nerves and excitement to care. she'd
always just been known as 'declan's twin.' hey, maybe now was
her chance to make something of herself that didn't involve her
brother. then again, she wasn't sure if she wanted to split from
him in such a major way. they'd literally done everything together
since birth. it would be so different not to have him by her
side during this. ah, she'd get over it. she glanced at zach as the
lad followed her out into the hallway, arching her eyebrows.
"what are the odds, huh? that we'd both get chosen?" she
snickered lightly, rolling her eyes. it really was a strange
coincedence. she looked over at arielle and smirked. "try
not to be too upset when i beatcha," she teased, though it
was all in good fun. she obviously didn't mean what she said.
if anyone was going to win, she would honestly bet her money
on zach, though she'd never in a million years admit that to
him.
